Ragnarok Rising (OOC and Recruitment Thread, Rated PG-13)

Well, after my first attempt at an RP kinda failed on me, I decided to try again, with a more controllable plot and not that many people to worry about! This one will be better.

Plot:​

Lately, the Pokemon world has been in shambles. Heat waves and Tidal Waves running rampant on the continents from Kanto to Isshu, Pokemon, wild and tamed have been acting feral with no provocation, and the increased number of Legendary Pokemon shows that something very wrong is preparing to happen.

Lately, sightings of a strange, cloaked man have appeared at the most random of areas, depicting him in a major metropolitan area, to a completely deserted area. Regardless of this, the pokemon around him seem to grow extremely dangerous and feral. Whoever this person is, nothing good can come of him.

It would seem the world has been thrown into chaos and anarchy, and no one knows the reason why. The very fate of the world seems to linger on the shoulders of these 5 Pokemon trainers, with no connections to one another. Can they put aside any differences, befriend one another and save the world?

…Arceus can only hope.

RULES:​

1. PLEASE, and I cannot stress this enough, NO GODMODDING. No dodging EVERY SINGLE ATTACK sent at you, no guaranteed hits, no controlling other characters. I cannot stress that enough, it's a massive pet peeve for me.
2. No excessive swearing, I want everyone involved to be as comfortable with this as possible.
3. No flaming, no trolling, no spamming.
4. Try to make your post at least a paragraph in length.

Setting​

The setting will likely be all over the map over every continent if I play this out right. But right now, let's make the starting place Isshu, more specifically…Castelia City. You can be from other cities and other Continents of course, but let's make Castelia City the meeting point.

RATING​

There will likely be some violence and some swearing, so how about we play it safe and call it PG-13? Skies the limit after all

Name: Alexander Treehalt.
Appearance: He's average height, usually clocked at 5'10, last he checked. Always wears a hoodie and jeans, regardless of what weather it may be. His eyes are green, covered by a pair of glasses, and has a head of relatively long, brown hair.
Personality: It seems Alexander has 2 sides to him in terms of personality. One side has him as a very, VERY laid back kind of person, who doesn't seem to take many things seriously and thinks a productive day is laying under the tree with his pokemon. On the other side, he can grow very serious and compotent if his Pokemon, or other friends, happens to be in immediate danger.
History: Alexander has been over shadowed by his older brother, Stephen, who is a successful Pokemon Trainer in his little, Podunk town in the middle of Johto. As a result, he's had quite a lot of preassure to be a carbon copy of his brother by his Mother and Father. He never really saw much point in hating his brother, jealous or not. No, he decided to live his own life once his Pokemon journey began, not to have his mother and fathers idealist lifestyle forced on him. So far…eh, not that bad. Fate has a funny way of working, though.
Strengths: He has a deep, deep connection with his pokemon, and as a result can connect with them on a deeper level than most, thus helping him with Wild Pokemon as well.
Weakness: Because of his rather "laid back" attitude, he can't take anything seriously half the time, putting him in very serious danger.
Aspiration: "I just wanna live my own life, dude."
Pokemon Team: Infernape, Litwick and Growlithe

Personality: He's almost word for word the same as Alexander. Sometimes he's lazy and laid back, the other he's dangerous and willing to kick some ass. Hell, he and Alexander could be twins if it weren't for the whole being different species thing.
History: As a Chimchar, he was around Alexander almost all the time, even before being officially caught by him. So, technically, he was indeed not only Alexanders first Pokemon, but first friend.

Nickname: None
Moveset: Confuse Ray, Fire Spin
Personality: Litwick is the shyest of Alexander's Pokemon. Almost all the time it's hiding behind Alexander, whom it sees as its father and doesn't socialize with many people it's just met.
history: Alexander found Litwicks egg in an old haunted mansion he was staying in during a rather intense storm. As a result, he was Alexander's youngest Pokemon.

Nickname: None
Moveset: Ember, Flame Wheel
Personality: The most hyperactive member of Alexander's team, always bouncing around, yapping excitedly and wanting to battle. As a result, does not like Alexander's lazy tendencies.
History: None really, Alexander was just wandering through the woods when Growlithe decided he looked good to annoy, and followed him OUT of the woods a full day later, never losing his stride, never losing his energy. Alexander decided to catch him and bring him along regardless.
Level: 20.

Name: Haruko Suzuki

Appearance: Haruko has dark tan colored skin and unusually bright lavender colored eyes. She's 5'7 and is always dressed in a flowy aqua colored sun dress and brown boots. Her hair is long going down to the middle of her back and is always up in a ponytail it's slightly wavy and is colored a light Ebony Black.

Personality: Haruko is as sweet and innocent as anyone can be though she always speaks her mind she's kind to everyone even people she doesn't know and can't turn a blind eye to people in need. Haruko won't give up and doesn't take well to teasing her and is a very emotionally sensitive person.

History: Haruko had a tough life growing up in Castelia City in the Isshu Region. Always a victim of constant teasing because of her odd name Haruko's only friends were her Pokemon. Now at this stage in her life Haruko wants nothing more than to succeed in her journey to save the world and prove to the people who think she's nothing that they are wrong.

Strengths: Haruko is very good at forming plans and keeping people from rushing into bad situations.

Weakness: She's emotionally sensitive and if she's in danger she freezes.

Aspirations: prove to the kids who think she's nothing that she can succeed.

Personality: Jewel is fiercely protective over Haruko and all of those she cares about. If someone hurts a person or pokemon Jewel cares about they are in for a ruthless beating.

Nickname: Jade
Moveset: Hail, Blizzard, rest, flail
Personality: Jade is the most timid of Haruko's Pokemon. She'd rather sit on the side lines and watch a battle than participate in it herself. She's very skittish and can be easily scared by the simplest things.

Species: Vanipeti lvl 40
Nickname: Jet
Moveset: Blizzard, Mirror Coat, Hail, Ice Beam
Personality: Jet is the most rash of Haruko's Pokemon. He doesn't hesitate to rush forward into a situation which can get him into trouble with Jewel a lot. He's though in a battle and aspires to never give up always trying his hardest.

Name: Kobora King
Appearence: Kobora wears many cloaks with a flame design, and white around it. The color of the flames varies depending on which cloak he's wearing. He has green eyes, and short white hair. He's 5'4, and wears blue and black boots with a blue fire design on them. He also carries around two swords.
Personality: Around almost everybody, Kobora is shy. People always get the wrong idea about Kobora since he apparently has "those curel, green eyes". With no human friends, Kobora only had his pokemon. He's really shy around people he doesn't trust.
History: When he was young...Kobora was always alone. All the kids who knew Kobora either feared him or made fun of him since his father used to be a dragon master...until he died. Kobora lived with his older sister, and his brother in Blackthorn City...up until one night. During a stormy night, Kobora's "family" mysteriously vanished. Enraged, Kobora went out, attacking everybody in his way up until he met an injured Larvitar. Kobora took care of the Larvitar, and it soon became part of Kobora's team. After that, Kobora set out to find his brother, meeting all different kinds of pokemon, and catching Vapor and Saber. Kobora headed to Unova, more specifically, Castelia City due to a letter he got. He had no idea why he got it, so he went to the location that the letter said.
Strengths: Kobora and his team can use "special attacks" that are combinations of their a couple of their moves or abilities to create a powerful attack.
Weakness: Although Kobora has good strategy in battles with pokemon, he'll usually rush into something with his swords. The downside...he rushes in, leaving himself defenseless.
Aspirations: Kobora only wants to find his brother. That's all he wants.
Pokemon Team: Tyranitar, Vaporeon, Swellow

Nickname: Tyrant
Moveset: Surf, Earthquake, Fire Punch, Ice Beam
Personality: Tyrant is the leader of Kobora's team in terms of strength. Tyrant never likes being in his poke ball, and he's always ready for a battle.
History: Tyrant was Kobora's very first pokemon when he was found in Blackthorn City by Kobora. Since then, Kobora and Tyrant were best friends. They battled their way through all obstacles that stood in their way.

Moveset: Muddy Water, Surf, Ice Beam, Return
Personality: Vapor doesn't like battling, unlike Tyrant. Although, when Vapor has no choice, he'll go all out on his opponents with a variety of attacks.

Moveset: Fly, Aerial Ace, Toxic, Giga Impact
Personality: Saber is the "cool guy" of Kobora's team. He tries acting cool in and out of battle to impress people and pokemon in almost every case with his coolness.

Name: Angelique Layer
Nickname: Alice

Appearance: She has impossibly cold red eyes, often in a glare with long, wavy silver hair. Having never eaten much, she has a thin face, a pointed chin and high cheekbones. Likewise, she has a lean body build, with an average height.
She wears a tight black dress, with 3/4 sleeves, slits on both sides to allow better movement, and edged with silver. A silver dragon is embroided on the back, the symbol of her family's crest. She has black, thigh length shorts underneath, also lined with silver. She also wears silver gloves, and has a belt for her Poke balls.

Personality: Alice is one cool character, with a level head and fights for what she believes in. Her friends describe her as aloof, sometimes sadistic and she dislikes large crowds and gatherings. Though generally mistrustful, she's loyal to those she cares about. Her nickname is based on the first letters of her first and last name, as well as that her friends like to say she's just like ice.

History: Angelique was born in Blackthorn city, from a long line of Dragon type trainers. As a cousin of Clair and sister to Lance, whom both went along to do well, her grandfather, the blackthorn elder, had high expectations for her. She was granted her own Pokemon alongside her cousins, at a younger age than other trainers. A long time ago, her grandfather had been an exceptionally strong dragon tamer, with incredibly strong Pokemon. She spent her entire childhood within the walls of the Dragon's den, her grandfather at her side, constantly watching.
In the Blackthorn family, there are bound to be many rivals vying for the place of head dragon tamer. In a tournament within the family, Alice lost brutally to another relative. Her grandfather was disappointed, and moved on to training the winner. Wrought with fury at being cast aside, she trained harder and challenged the other to a battle, but lost again. Humiliated and ridiculed by the family, she packed up and left home.
With no where to go, Angelique got on a ferry to Sinnoh, which then got hijacked by Team Rocket members. By then, she had resolved to begin her life anew and knocked out the Rockets, quickly, cleaning. She left only a mass of amazed passengers in her wake. She then proceeded to spend several years in Sinnoh, training, battling, forgeting. Despite her dis-interest, her reputation as an amazing battler got round and she was invited to the Sinnoh battle frontier by the tower tycoon. When a tidal wave suddenly appeared on the coast of the fight area, she was forced to help trainers escape as most of the island was swamped over with water.

Strengths: Logically impressive. A natural in offense-style battling.
Weakness: Ignores her feelings and emotions, doesn't understand nor care about other people.
Aspirations: "I can only be...the best. Nothing more, Nothing less."

Nickname: Empress
Moveset: Steel wing, Ice beam, Mist, Agility
Personality: Empress is arrogant and prideful, like most of her species, but is incredibly loyal to her trainer, taking offense at insults aimed towards Alice, even if Alice herself doesn't particularly care.

Species: Shelgon
Nickname: Darjeeling
Moveset: Dragon Claw, Iron Defense, Dragon Dance, Rock Slide.
Personality: Darjeeling is calm and serious, just like his trainer. He's pretty mellow though, and because he's her first Pokemon, he's the strongest in her team.

Species: Hoiiga
Nickname: Cyren
Moveset: Hard-roller, Protect, Poison Jab, Earthquake.
Personality: Fiesty and curious, Cyren is Alice's most active Pokemon, often out of her Poke ball and rolling around. Most of the time, she's the first on the team out because of her impatience.

Name: Naida (NAY-duh) "Nai" Evans (either Naida or Nai is fine)

Naida's hair floats in silken, glossy waves down to her shoulders; this is not something that comes naturally, however, for it requires a lot of work on her part to maintain (really, Naida couldn't care less, though—"it's totally worth it to be pretty," she responds, tilting her head and flashing a slightly vacant smile, whenever asked). It's an interesting blend of cinnamon, mahogany, and sandy brown. But her eyes are the ones that snag the royal blue ribbon for most striking feature. They aren't multicolored owl eyes or a deep, bloody crimson, and they aren't even blue, as one would expect from a girl whose name means "water nymph." As a matter of fact, they are, at first glance, the wrong shade entirely: a sort of glassy green that seem to reflect light and nothing deeper. However, a closer look reveals flecks of turquoise and eyelashes that could give stilettos a run for their money, and given enough time, her eyes will begin to look like the ocean.

She's 5'5.5" and quite slender, not particularly buxom. When she moves, she seems to inhabit a willowy sort of grace, like a gymnast swinging in motion—though she cannot dance to save her life. Prance about in swishy gowns, yes; strut in stilettos, fine; but dance, no. Naida's complexion is on the fairer side, though not so light that she burns very easily in the sun. Her wardrobe is fairly girly—all ruffles and lace and soft, feminine colors—and this applies to her favorite outfit as well: a loose, ruffled lavender blouse paired with a white hoodie in cold weather, dark blue skinny jeans, and gray slouch boots. For such a fashion-conscious girl, Naida does not wear much jewelry, limiting it to a silver-green, leaf-shaped knuckle ring and a teardrop pendant.

To the casual observer, Naida is your typical teenage girl in that she's perky but shallow, a touch flirty but also rather vain, bubbling with on-the-surface charm but extraordinarily vapid and, above all, generic. However, what's unbeknownst to nearly everyone is the fact that this act is exactly that and nothing more: an act. She's very, very good at delivering sweet and empty smiles and fluttery giggles, never true grins or laughs. Very rarely does a serious expression encompass her face, and when it does, it is always fleeting, replaced in a fingersnap with something ditzier. This is a role that she plays well, the cheerful, harmless but very silly teenage girl.

Only her Pokemon are aware of the façade that she puts on. They alone know how easily Naida can sashay from peppy, glittering ditz who pouts and chirps sweetly to the level-headed girl with the somewhat jaded eyes. They know how easily her silk tongue can fool people into believing things, how easily she can adopt the shape of a new container in an instant. Just like water. In fact, Naida is quite intelligent and enjoys reasoning things out, but for the sake of her other persona she shelves these thoughts when not in the company of her team. Not even Naida really knows why she puts as many charades as she does, but she does know two things: one, that she's gotten very, very good at lying to other people; and two, that she's been acting for so long that she doesn't know who the real Naida Evans is.

Naida's parents died in a car crash when she was about one, leaving her in the custody of her wealthy Aunt Nicholette and Uncle Marsen, who lived in Slateport City. Marsen and Nicholette were not cruel guardians per se, but they weren't exactly ideal either. Instead of seeing Naida as a child who was now sheltered under their wings, they viewed her as the child whom they never wanted. Aunt Nicholette was a very vague, flighty sort of woman who drifted off a lot, and Uncle Marsen was never around. When he was actually home for once in their grand mansion, he would always be holed up in his study and bark at anyone who dared to poke their head in.

Thus Naida grew up alone with just the company of the servants employed at Estate McLarmett (her uncle's surname, which explained why it sounded like someone sneezing, she heard one of the maids saying one day before the others shushed her) and the teams of Pokemon that helped the security guards. The Houndour prowled at night, the Sentret kept watch in the daytime, and the Meowth kept the wild Rattata out of the kitchen. She learned a lot about things by following the maids around as they swept dust and mopped floors and did other maid tasks (like the reason why Aunt Nicholette never gave understandable answers—one maid whispered that every day she swallowed double the recommended amount of Miss Minlot's Tonic for Ladies before Naida was hurried away because she was "hearing things not fit for young ladies' ears…"—and the fact that Uncle Marsen and Aunt Nicholette didn't sleep in the same room anymore).

But she learned more from the Pokemon that were scattered throughout the house, and she grew to love them in lieu of human friends, though she still always found something lacking. On her ninth birthday, the head maid gave her an egg with a ribbon tied on it, explaining that it had come from a mommy Sentret and a daddy Meowth, and it was hers to keep. To her delight, it hatched into a Sentret that she named Caramel. Several months later, a few weeks before her tenth birthday, she found an injured Horsea washed up on the shores of Slateport Beach one day while wandering around with Caramel at her side. Naida rushed the Horsea back to the estate and nursed it back to health with the help of the servants, and it—which she named Kaleidoscope for its bright eyes—became a part of her team. At this point, however, frictions in Aunt Nicholette and Uncle Marsen's marriage became all too apparent, and the two began having regular shouting matches. Because she had already turned ten, Naida bade her friends goodbye and fled the house to receive her trainer's license before taking the Seagallop to Sinnoh, just to escape as far away from her patchworky life in Hoenn as was possible.

And so far it's been a good run. Sinnoh's a nice place that she's enjoyed just floating around with her team. But something's been feeling out of place lately; it's that feeling of something missing once again, and Naida can't help but wonder if Sinnoh's starting to lose its appeal for her…

Naida's quite intelligent and reasonably well-read, seeing as there's only so much you can do besides read in a lonely estate before you go mad. She keeps her cool in tough situations, even if outwardly she panics as part of the character she's currently assuming. She's excellent at acting out whatever part is necessary for the day: homeless orphan in need of food, brand new trainer who wants to tag along with the tougher, older trainer (and pick up a few of his/her strategies), etc. Additionally, she won't force a Pokemon to come with her and will leave them behind if they so wish it, hence the reason she's only legitimately caught one Pokemon in her life; she refrained from catching all of the other Pokemon, which didn't want to be caught, and moved on with a nonchalant shrug.

Because she's such a chameleon (Kecleon?), Naida's very used to hiding her emotions. Though she's good at faking them, she dislikes showing her true feelings on many a matter, sometimes even to her Pokemon. Since acting has become her lifestyle, Naida doesn't know who she's become and what the inner her is like, and this is her sole major insecurity. She's also very touchy about her family, seeing as, y'know, she was orphaned at one and subject to lousy guardians for the rest of her life. Also, Naida may act otherwise, but she's only ever had one or two real human friends (the head maid and one of the security guards), and her other three friends are the Pokemon on her team. This renders her effectively unable to empathize with others on a deeper, not so superficial level.

Honestly? Naida doesn't know what the heck she wants. She's participated in some battles here and there, tried out a few Super Contests, and dabbled in one or two gym fights, but other than that, she's not really sure. Probably to figure out her true identity underneath all the silly fronts. If asked by someone, she'd probably pull a bright smile and chime, "I just wanna help my Pokemon be as strong as they possibly can be. That's all I want," though inconspicuous vestiges of sincerity would linger in her eyes.

Pokemon Team: Caramel (Furret), Kaleidoscope (Kingdra), Domino (Roselia)

Nickname: Caramel
Moveset: Slash, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch
Personality:

Caramel's a bit quirky. He loves playing with shiny things (probably a habit picked up from his Meowth father), and he's incredibly fond of chasing his own tail, an idiosyncrasy that may have been inspired by some of the Houndour at the estate or may simply be a part of his… unique personality. Of the team, Caramel may not be regarded as the powerhouse, but he's the one against whom Naida cuddles when she's feeling glum (though of course this may mostly be due to the fact that he has fur where the others have scales or leaves. It's all right, though. He'll take what he can get).

Caramel is a bit lovelorn and enjoys cracking cheesy jokes as well as composing dramatic limericks and/or couplets about each shiny-furred female Pokemon that he sees slinking down the path. In this regard, he's sort of like a Pokemon!Brock, only slightly cuter and more huggable. Underneath his carefree-as-a-Shellder countenance, though, he's actually quite calculating and calm. He's the slowest to anger, just because he takes everything into consideration along the way and turns the slights against him into jokes.

History:

His father was one of the male Meowth, while his Sentret mother was one of the guards' favorites for her keen eyes and quick paws. The two met one day when she slipped into the kitchen for a snack, and his father instantly fell to his paws, reciting a poem to woo her—like father, like son, after all. His mother thought he was a bit of an idiot, but the two had an egg together anyway, and this egg, which was given to Naida on her ninth birthday, turned out to be Caramel. And lo and behold, his father passed on an egg move to him: Slash.

While traveling in Sinnoh, Naida ran into a hiker on Route 212 when she was looking for a place to stay and wring out the water soaking her clothes from the outpour of rain (incidentally, this was a good time to use her acting skills to get what she wanted). As she was drying her things out inside, she noticed that the hiker, Larry, seemed to be teaching an Alakazam some interesting moves. Caramel was outside his Poke ball and watching intently, and when Larry finished, he turned and begged Naida to get Larry to teach him those moves. It took some huge eyes and quivering lips, but at last Naida managed to convince Larry to teach Caramel Fire Punch, Ice Punch, and Thunder Punch. From then on, Caramel was never afraid to enter the fray again (not that he'd ever been scared, obviously. Or even remotely worried. Definitely not).

Also, it hasn't happened yet, but Caramel is sure that one day he will meet the love of his life, as his father did, and win her over with his winning poems. Or hilariously comedic brand of humor. That factor depends on her reaction. But anyway, he is always working on new lines in preparation for that specific moment, much to the dismay of the groaning females on his team.

Her sharp, angular features belie the true fluffball Kaleidoscope is underneath. Though she has perfected her Intimidation Squint, which she spearheads at annoying things, she's just a big sweetheart underneath. She's still the friendly little Horsea that Naida nursed back to health and befriended, though admittedly she's much larger and, well, scarier than said original pre-evolution. And then there was that period of time that she went through as a Seadra, all moody and snarling and refusing to obey orders, just like a teenager… but back to the point, Leida is just a darling, sweet as the honey that attracts waddling Munchlax over. Like her owner, she's quite logical, but she's also probably the second quickest to anger, after Domino, probably due to the Dragon blood in her.

One day, as twilight was fading to rusty blue nightfall, Naida and Caramel were strolling down Slateport Beach as the former tried to teach Caramel, who was then still a Sentret, how to clean things up like an old man and his Zigzagoon had been doing earlier in the morning. They happened to stumble upon a crumpled blue shape, and it turned out to be Kaleidoscope. Her tiny cream fin was bent, and she looked completely worn out, so Naida and Caramel quickly hurried her back to the estate. With the help of the maids and some Pokemon-wise guards, they nursed Kaleidoscope back to health within a few weeks. The Horsea, who had been swept out from her usual habitat by the rough whirlpools, was extremely grateful and trusted Naida wholly, asking if she could stay with Naida so that the latter could look out for her. Naida agreed, and once her tenth birthday had passed, she, Kaleidoscope, and Caramel were off, luggage in tow, to Sinnoh.

Soon enough, Kaleidoscope evolved into a Seadra. At this point, she started acting up and being a snotty little brat, much like Ash's Charmeleon. She was a know-it-all, she did her best to terrorize Caramel, and she simply would not listen to Naida at all. The innocent little Horsea with the big red eyes was gone, replaced by the scariest type of monster of all: the Brooding Teenager.

Nothing really gave way until one day, Naida sat Kaleidoscope down and told her off for being such a brat. This was not a new occurrence, so Leida just rolled her eyes and zoned out until Naida asked, "Kaleidoscope, if you want to go back to the wild, just tell me. I'll release you if you want. If not, though, you have to start treating us with a little more respect." This forced Kaleidoscope to remember all of the good memories that she shared with Naida and Caramel, and she finally admitted, grudgingly, that she would change from that day on—and so she did. But only a little. The biggest change came when some guy Naida'd battled before offered to evolve Kaleidoscope, and with Kaleidoscope's consent, she was traded back and forth. Changes didn't happen overnight, but as a Kingdra she was ultimately less bratty and more open-minded. Naida risked teaching her Draco Meteor (Arceus, the destruction she might unleash if still a rude grump), which turned out pretty well, and soon she was pretty much back to normal. Except, you know, tall and frightening and able to blast others into smithereens. But still.

One word to describe Domino: sassy. She's much like Kaleidoscope as a Seadra, though she's probably less of a snot. Domino has crazy mood swings and will tramp off, bouquets crossed firmly, to go self-angst on occasion. However, Domino has a sarcastic wit and can deadpan some very good one-liners, which never cease to make the others burst into actual laughter (as opposed to the weak chuckles they award Caramel if they're feeling sorry for him or something). She's got a fairly candid way of phrasing things, spitting them out like thorns and not particularly caring if one impales you on accident. One thing that will never fluctuate with Domino, though, is her loyalty to you once it's been firmly established. Domino will stand her ground beside you till the very end in the face of anything… well. Almost anything. She might also choose to wait behind a rock and cheer you on from there, but that's a different story. Kind of.

Domino is the first and only Pokemon that Naida caught on her own. It's actually a very normal, boring story: Naida found her in Eterna Forest, and she helped lead the way out. The little Budew kept hopping along even after they'd gone their separate ways, so she and Caramel had a proper battle that Caramel won. Then Naida caught and named her "Domino" because she had a tuft of leaves in front of her eyes that resembled a mask. Domino later evolved into a Roselia and change radically, like Kaleidoscope, but it was to a milder degree. Nothing much to it, really.

One day, while exploring some boggy path, Naida happened to stumble upon a Shiny Stone. She offered it to Domino, whose expression was hungry as she reached out for it, but then the Roselia stopped herself. Though she could evolve into a Roserade at once, she didn't feel ready to do so quite yet and asked Naida to hold the Shiny Stone for her until she did feel right about evolving.

Name: Kalen Animus.
Appearance:

Kalen has longish brown hair, ending a few centimetres from the bottom of his face, that is styled slightly.
His golden-amber eyes are the dominant feature of his face, but can also be easily overlooked.
Kalen is around 5' 3", and his body is thin and powerful, he also has good balance and control, which he puts to use in his Karate and Swordfighting classes.
He wears casual clothes, a shirt with a Salamence imprint and a pair of jeans with a pokeball design on the back.
He also has some Glailee snow gear, a pokeball hoodie, a plain grey scarf and swimming gear.
He also bought a black cloak, to surprise the other 4(5?) trainers, intending to sell it again afterwards, but decided to keep it, as it is comfortable and to confuse the real cloaked man.

Kalen is rather laid-back, but also very thoughtful.
He does, however, jump to conclusions and act before thinking, landing him in trouble.
He can also be overconfident in battles, which is embarrasing to him when he does lose, sometimes prompting him to give ridiculous reasons why he lost, then laughing at the stupidity of his reason.

Kalen was born in Hoenn.
When Kalen was two, he and his family moved to the Unova region for two years, where Kalen got a pet Lillipup, but then moved back to Hoenn.
When they got back, the Aqua & Magma crisis was going on, and his Lillipup, being a rare pokemon here, was stolen.
This made him incredibly sad, but around a year later, when the crisis was over all of the pokemon stolen were returned, via Trainer ID, to thier original owners, including lillipup, which had then evolved into Herdier.

Last year, Kalen was sent an egg from a friend in Unova, who's pokemon had had two eggs, while he only wanted one.
This egg hatched into an Oshawott, which Kalen has since trained to level 18.

Lately, Kalen had been seeing a cloaked man around, who no one else had seemed to have seen.
Kalen had started to think that he was going insane, until the mysterious figure was reported by many other people, standing on buildings, and appearing in strange places.
This was a relief to Kalen.
You can imagine his surprise when he recieved a letter asking him to come to Castelia city, vaguely seeming to be connected to the Mysterious Figure.
His adventure had begun.

Strengths: Kalen is very good at swordfighting, and has complete and utter confidence in battles.
Weakness: Kalen does not have much brute strength, and his confidence can lead to loss.
Aspirations: Kalen aspires to find out who the Mysterious Figure is, why and how he can appear in places including building tops, and why he appeared to him before the whole world noticed him.
Pokemon Team: Herdier, Oshawott.

Moveset: Takedown, Bite, Tackle, Odor sleuth.
Personality: Very playful, wanting to have fun and enjoy battles.
History: A pet from Unova, once kidnapped by Team Magma, due to being rare in Hoenn.

Nickname: None.
Moveset: Razor shell, water gun, focus energy, tackle.
Personality: Determined to become strong, and frequently swordfights with Kalen, attempting to better him.
History: Given as an egg by a friend in Unova.
