I'll update my progress.

Update #1
- Started the game, named myself Canine.
- Moved in, went over to our neighbor's house and met May.
- Found Prof. Birch and picked Mudkip as my starter (nicknamed him Tsunami).
- Fought May and won pretty easily.
- Got the PokeDex and running shoes and started my journey.
- I tried to not fight to many trainers, but some weren't avoidable.
- Talked to my dad, helped/watched Wally catch a a Ralts, and talked to my dad some more.
- The route after Petalburg and the forest (forget the names) were easier from avoiding trainers, I only fought two (not including the Team Aqua grunt).
- Beat the grunt, and then the guy runs off.
- Got to Rustboro and immediately battled the gym. My Mudkip (at this point a Marshtomp) was now a Level 17, and I kept spamming Water Gun. I killed every pokemon in there in one hit, except for Nosepass, he was stubborn.
- Fought the Team Aqua grunt again, old man got his Wingull back, and I met the head of Devon Corp (Mr. Stone).
- Delivered the letter to Steven, and then went straight to Slateport. I avoided every trainer on the beach.
- Caught a Oddish (nicknamed Sunny) and Zigzagoon (nicknamed Ziggy). The latter is a Cut slave.
- Went back and fought every trainer I avoided with my Oddish.
- I'm now standing outside the gym (Brawly's) and ready to try to take him on.
