  • Donphan @ Leftovers
    Ability: Sturdy
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Stealth Rock
    - Rapid Spin
    - Toxic
    - Earthquake

This is a simple set, set up stealth rocks and high-tail it out of there, so it can spin later.

    Vaporeon @ Leftovers
    Ability: Water Absorb
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Defense / 8 Special Def
    Bold Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
    - Wish
    - Protect
    - Scald
    - Roar

    Wish support breh.

    Gorebyss @ White Herb
    Ability: Swift Swim
    EVs: 252 HP / 32 SDef / 224 Spe
    Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
    - Shell Smash
    - Baton Pass
    - Surf
    - Substitute

The point of this is to pass off some speed and (Special) attack boosts, and possibly a sub, to a sweeper, and sweep.

    Alakazam @ Life Orb
    Ability: Magic Gaurd
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Special Atk / 252 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Grass Knot
    - Psyshock
    - Focus Blast
    - Shadow Ball

THE POKEMASTER. GONNA BEAST ERRBODY IN THE PLACE!

    Cloyster @ White Herb
    Ability: Skill Link
    EVs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Speed
    Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SAtk)
    - Rock Blast
    - Icicle Spear
    - Shell Smash
    - Razor Shell

If anybody has seen one of these in action, they can tear through just about any team. They rock (blast lol), so therefore I have one.

    Chandelure @ Leftovers
    Ability: Flash Fire
    EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Timid Nature (+Spe, - Atk)
    -Substitute
    -Fire Blast
    -Shadow Ball
    -Hidden Power (Fighting)

    This is another Special Sweeper.

Please help out. I am stil trying to decide between alakazam and Terrakion, but am leaning towards Alakazam.

  • For the 6th slot, I suggest a Physical Attacker which you can also rely on even without transferred boosts (can boost on its own or just directly attacking after a switch). Choice Band/Scarf Terrakion is nice to toy around with, also Landorus is worth a mention. Both have monstrous attack power, however Landorus also goes for another Ice weakness, along with Donphan and Togekiss. If you want something to be secured for a kill (almost all of the time), Dugtrio can take the 6th spot, then again, Ice weakness. Metagross is good and can also gain some speed from Ninjask, although I rarely see him being used, but that's just my opinion. Jirachi is also good and can annoy even more in pair with Togekiss.

Don't run Choice Specs on Alakazam for multiple reasons.
    1) You're running Alakazam which is known for being able to abuse the heck out of the Magic Guard + Life Orb wombo combo.
    2) You're (trying) to pass boosts into Zam which are almost always wasted on Choiced pokemon since they don't have the ability to switch moves. It restricts their ability to sweep.
    3) All three of your moves have a safe switch in against it. Aura Sphere is immune against ghosts, the Psychic moves are resisted by Darks, and Shadow Ball is resisted by normals. This wouldn't be a problem if this wasn't a Choice set.

Next, don't run Psychic and Psyshock on the same set. It limits how much coverage you have. Run one or the other, Alakazam has plenty of other options to hit hard with. Imo, Energy Ball/Grass Knot is great, but it's up to you in the end.

Don't run 0 Speed IVs on Umbreon. Even if it would go last for Payback, Umbreon's tiny attack will make it inconsequential so it's better that you have Umbreon maybe being able to outspeed things for Wish Passing.

IMO, having two Baton Passers on a team that is obviously not a Baton Pass team seems a bit excessive. I'd recommend that you change Togekiss's set to benefit itself rather than Alakazam

This next part is more so a strategy flaw more than anything, but Alakazam is pretty weak and he will have to take an attack from SOMETHING when coming in from Baton Pass. More than likely, when you're setting up, your opponent is trying to take you down before you can sweep them. Coming into an attack like that on a pokemon that has defenses like Alakazam will more than likely die. Sucker Punch also will ruin your day.

Last slot, yeah, a physical ground type will do wonders for you. Something that can abuse Sandstorm will help, especially in this metagame.

I put Terakion up, but do you think a shell smash cloyster would work?

Took your idea for changing item/moves. Are there any special attackers with more natural bulk? Maybe virizion? I was relying on a sub mainly, but that is sort of foolish considering it would have to last three attacks.

I'd recommend using Latias and then replace one of your pokes that's weak to Ice with something else. Togekiss or Ninjask are probably the ones you'll want to replace.

    A standard Latias set

    Latias @ Leftovers/Life Orb
    Timid/Modest
    Calm Mind
    Recover
    Psychic/Psyshock
    Dragon Pulse/Hidden Power Fire
    252 HP
    4 Sp. Atk
    252 Speed

Sorry, I have not mastered fourth gen rng, and will probably not be using a latias.

  • On Donphan, Ice Shard is better off in its offensive sets; without Attack investment, it's rather weak. You're currently using a defensive set, so another supporting move should be in there, like Toxic, Knock Off or Roar.

Alakazam always has to be Timid. While Modest does give it more power behind its moves, Timid actually lets Alakazam outspeed as much as it can. Also, you can use Substitute or Calm Mind over Grass Knot because Psychic/Fighting/Ghost have good coverage already, and Alakazam can use the extra buffer against paralysis or sleep or, if it's BP'ed a Sub, it can set up Calm Mind without being hit itself.

Let's face it, Umbreon isn't good in OU because while its defenses are high, Fighting Pokemon like Conkeldurr can easily take it out. Vaporeon can pass along much bigger Wishes:
    -Wish
    -Protect
    -Scald
    -Ice Beam/Toxic/Roar
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 248 HP/252 Def/8 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Water Absorb

While Togekiss and Ninjask are good Baton Passers, they're both weak to Stealth Rock; the latter takes it the hardest. You can have Gorebyss Baton Pass both Special Attack and Speed boosts using Shell Smash:
    -Shel Smash
    -Baton Pass
    -Surf
    -Substitute/Ice Beam
    Nature: Calm
    EVs: 252 HP/32 SDef/224 Spe
    Item: Leftovers/White Herb

You can't just have your team revolve around Alakazam all the time because it's easily taken out by Scizor's Bullet Punch. You can have Infernape or Chandelure as Scizor counters:

    Infernape:
    -Overheat/Fire Blast
    -Close Combat
    -Grass Knot/U-turn
    -Stone Edge/Mach Punch
    Nature: Hasty/Naive
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb

    Chandelure:
    -Substitute
    -Fire Blast
    -Shadow Ball
    -Hidden Power (Fighting)/Pain Split
    Nature: Timid/Modest
    EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Leftovers/Life Orb
    Ability: Flash Fire

    or
    -Calm Mind
    -Fire Blast
    -Shadow Ball/Substitute
    -Hidden Power (Fighting)/Substitute
    Nature: Timid/Modest
    EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Leftovers/Life Orb
    Ability: Flash Fire

    Kyurem @ Life Orb
    Pressure
    Timid
    252 Sp. Atk
    4 Sp. Def
    252 Speed
    Blizzard/Ice Beam
    Draco Meteor
    Focus Blast
    Shadow Ball/Psychic/Hidden Power Electric

He takes neutral from Ice, but opens up a weakness to a good bit of your team being weak to Fighting

  • I can help provide some Alakazam and Terrakion sets so you can have an easier time deciding.

For Alakazam, try one of these sets:

    Timid nature
    Focus Sash / Life Orb
    Magic Guard
EVs: 4 Defense, 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed
    - Substitute
    - Focus Blast
    - Psyshock / Psychic
    - Shadow Ball

This is one of Alakazam's popular sets. Psychic/Psyshock serves for your main STAB, Shadow Ball gives you coverage against Ghosts and other Psychics while Focus Blast helps you deal with Dark and Steel-types that try to ruin your day. For your STAB move, choose Psychic if you want more power or Psyshock to take down Blissey more easily.

or you can try this one:

    Timid nature
    Focus Sash / Life Orb
    Magic Guard
EVs: 4 Defense, 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed
    - Calm Mind
    - Shadow Ball
    - Psyshock / Psychic
    - Focus Blast

This one plays much like the above one but with Calm Mind instead of Substitute.

For either set, make sure you use the EV spread provided, invest in a Timid nature cos it needs that Speed boost. Also, you will need the Dream World to get a Magic Guard Alakazam. Unfortunately, the Dream World is undergoing a revamp for Black 2/White 2 so you'll have to wait until the 21st before you can attempt to get one.

If you are interested in Terrakion, try one of these sets:

    Jolly nature
    Choice Band
    Justified
    EVs: 4 HP, 252 Attack, 252 Speed
    - Close Combat
    - X-Scissor
    - Stone Edge
    - Quick Attack / Sacred Sword

Terrakion has one great offensive typing and this is one of the good sets that abuse it. Close Combat/Sacred Sword and Stone Edge serve for STAB, Quick Attack can be considered over Sacred Sword if you need priority. X-Scissor gives you a counter against Grass and Psychic-types.

    Jolly nature
    Choice Scarf
    Justified
    EVs: 4 HP, 252 Attack, 252 Speed
    - Stone Edge
    - Close Combat
    - Sacred Sword / Rock Slide
    - X-Scissor

This set is similar to the above, but this one utilizes the Choice Scarf - an item that boosts Speed while locking you into one move. Close Combat/Sacred Sword and Stone Edge/Rock Slide cover STAB while X-Scissor counters Grass and Psychic-types.

    Adamant / Jolly nature
    Life Orb / Air Balloon
    Justified
    EVs: 4 HP, 252 Attack, 252 Speed
    - Rock Polish
    - Stone Edge
    - Close Combat
    - Swords Dance

Terrakion's useful typing allows it to abuse offensive sets well and this one comes with two stat-boosting moves. Rock Polish boosts Speed by two stages, eventually letting you outspeed the foe while Swords Dance buffs up Attack by two stages to let you sweep the foe. Stone Edge and Close Combat serve for your main attacks which provide STAB.

    Jolly nature
    Life Orb / Rock Gem
    Justified
    EVs: 4 HP, 252 Attack, 252 Speed
    - Substitute
    - Close Combat
    - Swords Dance
    - Stone Edge

This one plays like the set just above but it utilizes Substitute. Substitute allows you to absorb some moves from the opponent while you can buff up your Attack stat with Swords Dance then use Stone Edge and/or Close Combat to strike the foe while also coming with STAB. The Stone Edge can get extra power with a Rock Gem.

For all the Terrakion sets, invest in the EV spread provided and ensure you get a Jolly nature on most of the sets.

It's hard to choose but hopefully you'll come to a conclusion.
