REAL Reputation Abuse

The reputation system is actually built into vBulletin. Editing out the bad rep will probably be too much of a hassle. Besides, then the newbies would start complaining because they're unable to express their immaturity. It was a good suggestion, though. ^^
 
well Jason, you were calling youself "elite", and when you brag about your own skills like that im afraid ppl are bound to disagree with you ^^;
it's best not to brag to avoid receiving bad rep in your case :)

i have received pointless bad rep in the past, but also pointless good from ppl who just want rep back :\ (I PM the ppl, who give rep and ask for it back, and ask them never to give me rep again XD ) im just glad to receive some nice comments from ppl ^^
rep is a nice extra, but shouldnt be taken so seriously as to think ppl with lower rep are less worthy or something :\
 
What somebody refers to themselves as is nobody else's business. It's just more proof that people abuse the reputation system. *sigh* Can't we trial having it off?
 
You can just turn your own off, that way if you want it you can have it and if you don't you don't have to.
 
Maybe they should re-install a legal vbulletin hack,I mean pay those forums dudes arround the internet that do anything to your board.
The vbulletin readme says that your forums can be altered in any way doesnt it?
well maybe pay a guy to hack a vbulletin board and then re-install it.
It can have a better reputation system in wich says WHO posted it.
Because i think that,that reputation system without saying who posted it it is quite very stupid.
Maybe even add more features and improving vbulletin,Then like i said re-install it after it is done.

I got 2 bad reputations on this thread now,i got -39 Reputation points.
errr after this is over i will tell a moderator to erase all my existing accounts so i can re-register all clean because having this bad reputation for NO reason is stupid.

Um, regular memebers can't and are not allowed to view who left reps, it's only permitted to moderators and higher ranks. The admin may ahve disabled that feature for regular memebrs. I know so.
 
Yes, admins have disabled members being able to see who repped them. Until quite recently, it was disabled for mods as well.
 
I admit i have posted reputations to people,But didnt abuse of the system.
They arent only bad reps if not that i also give good rep to some people for good stuff
But like i say,i didnt abuse of the system.
 
As I said, disable your rep. you can do it from your user cp options. that way you see who gave you rep and have it not affect you.
 
That'd be easier than digging at rep like this. Is kinda hard to differentiate form "legit" bad rep and abusive bad rep. ._. If people are spamming it, disable it for now.

Actually, I have no need to disable it. I have too much rep for a few abusive bad reps to affect me. X_x;;

I think Scix's problem is that members aren't willing to give him another chance. If you guys have paid a visit to the ROM hacking forum before, you'll see what I mean. n_n;;

Anyways i just went to the options and unchecked a box of that reputation thing,IS that how you do it?
ANd plus how do you see who posted the bad rep?

I dont get this then.... the solution to the problem could just be simple: SIMPLY ACTIVATE THIS FEATURE FOR EVERYONE! o_o' This will allow you to see who likes you and to avoid people giving bad rep for no reason! i have gotten much bad rep without comments on posts that were not even giving opinions, and there was no reason to give bad rep and stuff o.o'
 
Actually, that would trigger a bad rep-war. Seeing who gave you the rep provokes them to "return the favour".
 
that's true also..... well, in that case you can simply report who gave you bad rep back, and justifying why you gave the person bad rep in the first place.....
By the way are administrators allowed to see one's user CP and see the rep comments? that would solve many problems i think.....
 
Well, maybe you're right.... but in this case you could do something like: An ordinary member can't see who gave him/her bad rep. However, If a member receives unfair bad rep, he could contact an admin so that he can whether delete the bad rep or punish the person who gave bad rep for no reason.
Also since you admins can see the rep comments of others, you could just check suspicious (for suspicious I mean like noobs with only 40 posts but also with 8 blocks of rep XD) people's rep to see if you see comments like "give me rep back" or anything like planned rep so that you can stop them somehow....
I dont personally see any problem with that.... enlighten me please XD
 
Well, that's a good solution but not practical. The admins already have a lot of work to do cleanin up the spam mess, and they will be overloaded seein every PM and weedin out rep abuses. I'll say its OK if a rep war started, we can just give someone bad reps until that member gets tired. XD
