Seeing how I got about 47 wins before being completely pwned by a Shedinja, it can't be THAT hard. :P

That's the single thing you need to beat the Battle Tower: a Shedinja counter, and I learned that the hard way. lol

I had a 56 win streak with Muk, Weezing and Gengar, so I personally think the towers are getting easier this time around, my opinion.

Anyhow, I only have 1 star right now. I may try going after the tower star, but I find battling people more fun :/
Battle tower quickly becomes a "process" to grind BP for me...
