1st Gen Red/Blue Monotype Challenge!

Iv always loved the originals so thats why i decided to make this challenge to hopefully bring back some memories :D

Rules:
1. This is NOT a Race
2. Run will be finished when You beat the elite four
3. Starter is usable only if it falls under your type
4. Absolutely NO glitches or cheating in anyway
5. Trading is for evolution purposes only
6. No legendaries please
7. Dual Types are allowed
8. you may use a pokemon that evolves into your type (EX: your using flying you may evolve charmander into charizard)
9. More than one person may use the same type
10. Your first pokemon of your type must be caught by the time you defeat Misty

I'm already underway with a Monotype Challenge on my blue version but i'll definately join in this one when I eventually get that one finished! :D

And i'll also be happy to make any banners for anyone who requests one. Are you wanting individual banners for each type (Say for example someone who chooses Electric gets an Electric banner etc), a main banner for the actual Challenge or both? I'll be happy to provide them either way.

I will take ghost. Since there are no ghost pokemon catchable before the 2nd badge, do I have permission to hack one into the first route and catch it?

as for falseswipe you cannot choose ghost, you have to choose a type you can obtain before the second gym

Ahh, yet another Red/Blue monotype challenge... >.<. When Monotype challenges were a new thing at PC, my first challenge was an R/B Monotype with Fire. I got to Victory Road but, since the challenge thread died, I never made it through D:!

That being said, I want to try again with Fire. (It was so much fun tanking Charizard through half of the game... then having to train an Flareon and Growlithe at the same time... >.>)

I'll probably start this today and move between this, my D/P Power House challenge, and writing my essay ^.^... But, if I can recreate what happened last time, I'll be in Celadon later today :D!

It turns out that I have started :D!!

Update:
-Restarted my Red version
-Named my Trainer Ryan
-Named my Rival Zach
-Withdrew the potion >.>
-Chose Charmander and named it Blaze (in honor of the original Blaze from my first challenge >.>)
-Easily defeated Zach while only losing 3 HP :)
-Caught a Rattata and a Pidgey for the Pokedex (so I can get Flash later on >.>)
-Beat Zach again, not as easily, but it still wasn't difficult.
-Blaze evolved :D!
-Caught a Weedle (Pokedex: 5)

Gym Battle: Brock:
Geodude surprisingly went down with 2 Embers and a Scratch (it was also burned during a critical hit... >.>, awesome). Onix wasn't that much harder. 4 Embers and a Burn and I won my first Badge... the Boulderbadge!!

-Bought a Magikarp for $500... a sound investment >.<... (Pokedex: 6)

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I'm worried my D/P challenge will die off >.>, but I would like someone else to do the challenge here T.T... I'm starting to get very lonely (lol).

Update, then:

-Made it through Mt. Moon (after having to go back and get more PP on ember a few times >.>)
-Chose the Helix Fossil (Not that is matters)
-Defeated Zach for the third time today very easily before Nugget Bridge!
-Swept Nugget Bridge and won a... Nugget...
-Misty was a lot easier than last time >.>. Scratch finally Prevails! Cascadebadge is now mine >:D!!!!

Update:

-Got S.S. Ticket from Bill after helping him out (also caught a glimpse of one of my future Pokemon)
-Blaze evolved again!!
-Defeated Zach for the 4th time today (He was the third or fourth person to have a Haxxed Raticate also >.<)
-Received HM01 from the Captain after helping him out
-Caught an Oddish to use as a Cut slave
-Surge went down easily. I think I'm right when I say that Slash pwns
-Caught a Voltorb to act as a Flash slave
-Caught a Spearow to get to 10 in the Pokedex and actually GET Flash
-Made it through Rock Tunnel (with barely enough PP left)
-And, as I said in my first post... I'm in CELADON!!! WOO!

I would be interested in taking the challenge for water. I'm playing through Emerald right now so I won't be starting this until I finish that game. I've got 5 badges right now so I should be done pretty soon.

I've never actually played through red with Squirtle, so this should be fun.

you have to go through the game using only your type of pokemon that you choose from

Ha I need to find another copy of red, because I have a full dex on my red version and I'm not starting a new game over it.

In that case maybe I need a blue version.

I could probably borrow my friend's brother's yellow version. I know it says "red/blue challenge" but would yellow be acceptable?
