1st Gen Red/Blue Monotype Challenge!

i trained my pokemon for awhile and battled misty
i defeated misty
got the ticket to the S.S. Anne
arrived in vermilion city
caught a diglett (lv 20)
evolved sandshrew to sandlash
battled the S.S. Anne
defeated rival
evolved diglett to dugtrio
obliterated Lt. Surge
got Hm FLASH
battled my way through the rock tunnel
arrived at the pokemon tower and defeated rival once again
dugtrio (lv 29)
sandslash (lv 30)
nidorina (lv 31)
planning on catching a cubone next
 
Got out of Rock Tunnel
Caught Growlithe
Got Eevee in Celadon
Accidentally evolved Growlithe when I meant to evolve Eevee -_-;
Caught another Growlithe

Gym battle vs. Little Miss Psychic!
-Draconian one-shotted her Kadabra and two-shotted her Mr. Mime. Ziz one-shotted her Venomoth and killed the Alakazam in three shots. Silly futile Recover.

-Taught Scarlet Blizzard
-Got to Cinnabar, and got the key to the Gym.
-Intense training!

Gym battle versus Blaine!
-My doom fish tore through that place.

-Named self Mark, rival is ???
-picked bulbasaur
-defeated rival
-(lv 13) beat brock with vine whip. (didn't find a good normal type yet, i'm not about to use raticate in the E4)'
-Caught a jigglypuff, Ivysaur is at level 17.
-Went through mount moon, picked up 2 moon stones, water gun TM, and mega punch TM.
-caught a Clefairy
-Taught Jigglypuff Water gun, and Clefairy mega punch
-exited Mount Moon
-Deposited Ivysaur into box,
-trained clefairy and jigglypuff to level 18.
-Creamed Gary.
-Beat nugget bridge, got to Bill, yaddayadda.
-Destroyed Misty with my Clefairy (level 21)
-Jigglypuff was at level 20
-Caught and traded a level 15 Spearow for a Farfetch'd
-Went through SS. Anne, defeated every trainer, got cut, body slam TM.
-Taught body slam to Jigglypuff
-withdrew Ivysaur, used as cut slave.
-Jigglypuff and Clefairy are at level 26
-Used a moon stone on Jigglypuff, now i have Wigglytuff
-Went through Rock tunnel (no flash), Clefairy and Wigglytuff are at level 31
-Clefairy learned metronome, I used a moon stone to evolve it to Clefable
-Went to sSaffron, bought a Pokedoll and fresh water
-Gave fresh water to guards
-Got fly, taught fly to Farfetch'd (now at level 27)
-Flew to Viridian, easily defeated Lt. Surge
-Taught thunderbolt to Clefable
-Flew to Lavender, went to tower, defeated Gary
-Went upstairs, beat all the channelers, and used a pokedoll on marowak's ghost (I didnt have silph scope)
-Beat rockets, got poke flute
-Caught both Snorlaxes, put one in box
-Beat the crap out of Erika
-Biked down to Fuscia, debated getting a Kangaskhan, decided against it
-Got Surf and strength HMs
-Flew to saffron, in silph co. right now.

UPDATE 1:


  • Called myself Satoshi, and my Rival Shigeru.
  • Got a Charmander (Nicknamed Enfys.)
  • Went to Viridian, came home and went back to Viridian again.
  • Caught a Pidgey (Nicknamed Scarf, after Pidge Scarves.)
  • Caught a Spearow (Nicknamed Defiant.)
  • Trained all up to Lv. 7.
  • Entered Viridian Forest, where I caught a Caterpie (Nicknamed Stuart (although I should have called it Steve...).)
  • Stuart/Steve evolved into Metapod!
  • Reached Pewter City.
  • Trained all Pokemon up to level 10.
  • Stuart/Steve evolved into Butterfree
  • Beat Brock and earned the Boulderbadge! The one thing I like about Bide is that when the other pokemon uses it, it's a perfect time to use stat-changing moves!

Can i do dragon? Id go through a lot with charmander/charmeleon/charizard (he is part dragon) then have a dratini, gyarados aerodactyl etc.

dratini, dragonair, and dragonite are the only dragon types in red/blue.

charizard is fire/flying, gyarados is water/flying, and aerodactyl is rock/flying.
 
how come champion lance in silver uses them and hes a dragon specific type trainer. And how come all of them learn at least 1 dragon type move?
 
FINAL UPDATE:

-TRAINING my team up to level 60:
-Scarlet evolved again!
-Got bored, andwanted to fight the E4, so I stopped halfway and went. But just before I fought them...
-TM time! :D

ELITE FOUR:

Lorelei: I stupidly pitched Scarlet aganst some of her monsters for thunderbolt... Scarlet tore through them, but eventually succumbed to painful, icy death.

Bruno: Alternated between using Scarlet (for Onix) and Ziz... Machamp killed Ziz, but died from recoil!

Agatha: Squishy destroyed her. Only got hurt from a Night Shade and Toxic once.

Lance: Easy-peasy. Chompy made himself useful! Also, FISHofDOOM one-shotted both the Aerodactyl (lvl 60) and the Dragonite (level 62). Aerodactyl's Hyper Beam only got him past half health because he was already hurt. I love that fish.

in red/blue, there IS only one dragon type move, dragon rage. and Charizard, NOR aerodactyl learn them naturally. besides, even if they did learn them, it wouldn't make them any more dragon type. Snorlax can learn Surf, it doesn't make it a water type.
 
Check the pokedex man. Sorry but Charizard, Gyarados, or Aerodactyl are not dragon types. The first two make look like dragons but they're not.

If you want to use Dragonite, Charizard, Gyarados, and Aerodactyl on a team though, why don't you start a flying monotype challenge? They're all flying types.

NORMAL CHALLENGE CONTINUED

-Defeated all the Silph co. trainers
-got earthquake TM, taught it to snorlax
-beat the rival down with a farfetch'd powered up with 2 agilities and 3 swords dances!
-easily defeated giovanni with snorlax
-flew to fuscia, destroyed koga with snorlax (earthquake ftw) snorlax learned body slam.
-pwned every trainer in sabrina's gym with snorlax, mowed her down with snorlax.
-withdrew other (level 30) snorlax from PC, taught it surf
-flew to pallet, swam to cinnabar
-deposited surfing snorlax
-got the secret key from the mansion,
-training my team up now.
