4th Gen Release Date December 31 2009??

    I hope this wasn't already discussed...

    So I found this interesting listing on Amazon. Pokemon Gold for DS with a release date of December 31, 2009.

    So what do you think? Is Amazon pulling my leg? Are they trying to hurt me? Probably completely wrong, as who would release a Pokemon game days after Christmas.

    The name isn't spelled correctly either. And the box art is missing..

    Either way, I hope this means the game will be released sooner than expected.

    You probably shouldn't get your hopes up about that :/ I truely believe that it's not what people think it is :P ... Many have said it could just be a place holder for reserve orders or something like that, but who knows :P
     
    I wouldn't count on this if I were you. We have no idea if it is true or not and the title's aren't even correct.
     
    Amazon does this sort of thing all the time. They (or other users) create placeholder pages for all sorts of items, even if the release is questionable. Search for it and I bet you'll find the "PS3 slim." Which of course Sony has not announced in any official capacity. Likewise you can find upcoming DVD releases before an official date is announced. The Complete Uncut Kill Bill Blu-ray page has been active for over a year now and there isn't even confirmation that Tarantino is still working on the thing.

    Now that being said, it's a sign of good things to come, isn't it? You're probably right in your assumptions: the name and after Christmas release date sort of sets off a red flag. Even so, I don't think it can be that off. I think January or February would be a safer bet though. (Purely speculation folks. My guess isn't based on any rumor anywhere, just my ill informed opinion).
     
    Yeah, and I just found another thread talking about the Amazon release date. My news is old! I #Fail. lol
     
    I've heard about this too, but it doesn't seem like a likely marketing thing for Nintendo to do. They usually wait longer before releasing the English counterparts.
     
    This can't be true, from what I've seen with other games. Platinum was released in Japan in September then released in the US in March next year, so my opinion is that the real release date will be somewhere in March too.
     
    Well, theres been games that Have had a release date for Such a date

    But then when it comes near to that date, been set back a futher few months, they did it with Sims 3 from February to June
     
    well i for one hope it's true lol
    i know it's not, but you know a guy can hope! lol
     
    When the Date is Placed as December 31st. that is usually TBA date
