Releasing Pokemon

Releasing is for the good of the Pokemon. It's better for them to be released so they can be free, mate, and live their lives rather than rot away in a PC.

On a more serious tone, I release tons of Pokemon when I'm breeding. I also grow very attached to all my Pokemon, but not in an weird way. I feel a bit sorry for my Pokemon rotting away in RSE, FR, Colosseum, and XD. Maybe one day I'll desire a Pokemon of a certain nature that they have, and they'll migrate across multiple generations?

Don't get me started on restarting the actual game.

I'd never release a Pokemon unless it's particularly useless to me. Like, for example, a spare Pikachu I caught to breed a Pichu.

When I'm breeding for a particular nature/ability, I don't feel guilty at all about releasing the babies that don't have the nature I'm looking for. XD

That sounds a lot like the beginning of the Movie 300 :P.

"They Throw out the Weak."

I will be honest with you, I am too lazy to even bother to release. I mean, I have 12 boxes. or 13, 14. I forgot. I only have about 2.5 filled... why release them? And I pretend like when theyre in the box its like a giant hotel. And they're all happy. But what I real felt bad was in Nintendogs when I set up a dog for adoption... I hated doing that but I wanted a different breed x.x

*heartfelt*

I always felt sad about when I do that... That's why I rarely do. I also feel bad when I hear my pokemon fainting sometimes...

When I accidentally catch a pokemon that I already OWN I die on the inside, but I don't have it in me to release them.

Except for unowns. Tonight I was bored out of my skull and wanted to just get the unown report thing done, and I managed to screw up some and catch three of four kinds of unown.. meh, I released them and could care less. xD They're not cool enough to have my sympathy.

I've only released like 2 in all the years since Red came out. I was breeding and they didn't had good iv's and a good nature for what I wanted at that time so I released them but I do feel guilty. I wouldn't release a pokemon that I don't use in battle, I would let them hang around.

If there are no use for them, its bye-bye...

Although i do feel bad... ALL WASTED! I mean the time and money spent to catch it...
ITS FREAKIN 200 BUCKS FOR THEM BALLS!!

If they are useless, they don't belong on my team. Pokemon were caught to serve my purposes in battle or complete my Pokedex, and if they cannot prove a use in either, than they deserve to go by-by. I keep one of each specie in either my PC or in my party, and that's it. The rest are just target practice. ;)

The only time I release a Pokemon is when his or her nature is not the one I'm looking for. At other times, I would never release one. I just keep it in the storage box. What goes in the box, rarely ever comes out.

For one, I spent a good amount of time trying to capture that Pokemon. It would only be a waste to just release it back into the wilds. Plus, I also spent good money on the Poke Balls that was just used. There is also the guilty feeling I get when releasing one. I feel bad for just tossing it away, even if it was a failed experiment.

What goes in the box, rarely ever comes out.

Sounds like my ex-wife XD

Why do people feel guilty about releasing Pokemon? Even if you take it in the context of being a ten year old boy with super animals that listen to your every command to use in battle, you're doing it a favor. In your care, it will either be used as a tool of war and will be injured constantly, or it will be broken down into information and stored on a computer database. Letting it go back to it's habitat is better than that life.

I used to have the same problem: The idea of releasing them just made me feel guilty. I know they are just pixels, but I always try to play Pokemon with heart and roleplaying, so...

Now I just send them to Pokemon Ranch. They are much better playing in the farm than sitting in my PC thinking "Will I be used someday?"
