6th Gen Rematch Trainers

I don't exactly remeber how the match call works, do they call you like with the pokégear?
In G/S/C I always hated being interrupted by anyone who want to tell you his rattata evolved, I'd much prefer something like the vs. seeker, just so whenever I want a rematch I can have it right away, having to call them is not too bad, but if it means they can call me anytime it end up being annoyng.
Regarding levels, I think every trainer should get team upgrades when you beat them multiple time, but only when you have a particular amount of gym badges(training low level pokèmon should not be an issue with exp. share). Also I'd like to be able to rematch gym leaders in single battles, and have elite 4 upgrades after completing post game.

I really enjoyed the news crew that you could rematch as much as you'd like, in the same (I think it was 3?) spots. The levels would keep increasing on their Pokemon until they hit a cap. Not really related to the phone system but still a nice way to grind levels.

It would be great if they brought Elite Four Rematches into the games, it would be more of a challenge and interesting to see what new Pokémon they can use.

I used them to grind in the originals myself whenever I could.

E4 rematches would be nice. I wonder why XY cut them out when BWB2W2 had them...

Rematches were such a great feature, and it irritated me that it wasn't utilized more in the series. Being able to go back and fight trainers with improved teams added a whole new dimension to the game, and an entertaining one at that. I would love to see them implement this in ORAS, as it also makes the replay-ability factor of pokemon games even larger.

I hope that after putting rematches in these games (they better...) that they'll add them to 'Z' and every other game to come. Considering this is a remake I don't think they should struggle too much to come up with remake teams. However I would like to see some rematch teams for some of the trainers to be greatly upgraded. I would also appreciate it if several had teams of six.

In the original games we could rematch Pokemon trainers which called us on the Pokenav. Do you think they'll keep this. Also do you hope that they increase the level of their Pokemon during these battles compared to the originals. Perhaps they could be like Wally and increase in level until a certain point. What do you think? Discuss.
They better keep this, features like this are the only real bulk of the post-game training wise. Without it, we'd be grinding on the pathetic level 40-50 elite-4 for days. Rematches is what makes trainers fun to fight when they match your level standard. With how underleveled the trainers excluding wally felt in the originals, there needs to be some changes. everyone was just so weak in Gen 3. 70-80 should be the standard for post game rematches.

They also need to make it so that you can refight your main rival as well multiple times like everyone else that calls you. I don't know why you couldnt infinitely rematch them in the originals despite having their number. A real rival should be the strongest trainer in the region next to the champion but for some reason Gamefreak never balances that logically. Your rival should be at least at the high 80-low 90 cap after a certain amount of gradual rematches while outside trainers should be at high 70 to low 80 for world balance and just to make the region playable after you reach Lv.60. Training against Lv. 40s at level 70 and above is just impossible.

Hopefully they'll give add 5 levels after every rematch for the later trainers. The cap could be 7 battles (which irc was the cap of Wally's team leveling up) for a total of 35 levels which will bring the levels of the E4 (if they're like the originals) to the high 80's to the low 90's by the last rematch. That sounds like a good challenge imo :)

I really hope they keep rematches, and continue to make the trainers stronger throughout the game. I would prefer more of a VS. Seeker system; the system used in RSE gave me less control over who I could rechallenge than I would like. I would ideally like to be able to stay on one route and challenge the same group of trainers over and over again, something I did in FR/LG quite frequently. I also want all trainers to be rematchable, and would like all of them to continue to gain levels over time (and actually be worthy adversaries by the end of the game).

I'm not sure why GameFreak seems so reluctant to keep the rematch features of the games. It shouldn't be that hard to program; the trainers are already there, and GF can just update their rosters based on the number of badges the player has (which they've done in some past games). I get sick of only having a couple of decent trainers to rebattle in XY. Some variety would be nice, and allowing players to rebattle every trainer (or at least most of them) would help.

I would love to be able to rebattle a lot of people again. Trainer eyes was my favorite version of the "Match Call" bs. I hated how with Match Call they could call you. I liked the Trainer's Eyes version much better, where you could just check the PokeNav and it'd tell you if they want to battle or not by having a little Pokeball icon right next to their name.

Match Call was a pathetic attempt to replicate the Call feature of the PokeGear in GSC but I didn't mind about that tbh. What I actually like this time around is like Trainers can like show progress, diffrentiate the Pokemon and stuff :)

I would like not only higher level pokemons but new pokemons added to their team when rematching them each time.

Of all things they need to keep Mixing Records intact and Offline, I used to use them with my friends to train against at lv 100 when the ingame NPCs were too weak. Its the only place you can even get EXP from fighting Lv 100s in the franchise. They better not change it to some bad online pass thing.

Secret Bases should also be avaliable in underground caverns, abandonned tunnels, and old factories. Not just trees and tiny little rooms. Why cant your house be a secret base too?

They seriously should add this again... It's annoying having to go to the elite four to get some good training. And it was fun seeing how NPC trainers that you battle randomly progress over time. I remember in Diamond that the trainer's Pokemon would level up and even evolve over time, then they would battle you again with a harder challenge.

By offline you mean you'll want to keep it local? I personally wouldn't want them to make it local if they were to bring it back as I don't know many Pokemon fans around me. Also I wonder if they will keep it LV. 100 or change them all to Lv. 50 seeing how now in days Lv. 100 battles don't exists :(. I miss those battles...

I actually didnt have a problem with trainers calling me about their progress or others actually acknowledging your feats in real time. The only thing is that there shoulbe be an option to turn calls off or block people you don't care about.

No, thats not conventional today. I cant have it local - Its unrealistic today, what I should have said was: I don't want them to be treated as online VS battles but I want them to be offline accessible like the original concept. I want SBs to be a hub for ghost-battle training. Basically:
- Go online with a Friend/Search randomly generated characters (like Dragons dogma's Pawns)
- You mix records with them and their base location pops up on your map.
- You go there and a recorded avatar remains there with their team.
- You can fight them infinitely offline after you saved their data and battle their team for EXP.
- You can save over them by repeating the process.

. I miss those battles...
Fighting at Lv. 50 caps would defeat the purpose.
