    Remember when moves like Self-Destruct and Explosion halved the target's defense?

    Remember when Dragonite was considered an inferior Salamence?
    Remember the weather wars and Excadrill's speed sweeping?
    Remember when you could just click Brave Bird to win?

    The competitive Pokemon metagame has gone through a lot ever since the first generation, with several different Pokemon and movesets defining it. Have you ever felt the same way, looking back on how vastly different it was prior to now?

    Honestly i don't remember anything of these cause I started competitive since gen 6.Though I have battled in those generations during past year, except the weather thing I haven't faced the above mentioned things.

    It was also OU during the early S/M meta as well until the usage stats rolled around.

    No, srsly, I look back with fondness with Gengars 6-generation domination. Such sweet run. Such majestic capability.

    Also, remember snorlax? It couldn't survive the onslaught of fighting-types in gen V, with Mach Punch Conkeldurr lurking around lol

    I'm kinda surprised we haven't seen a resurgence of Sand Rush Exca this gen. Sure, Tyranitar isn't great in general, but Excadrill would have a favorable time. It would outspeed and KO all of the Tapus(2HKO Fini) and Metagross. Status took a nerf this gen as well so Scald isn't on every single team anymore so Physical Attackers have gotten a bit better in general.

    Though this is all in theory and sand teams ft Excadrill might not even be that great this gen in practice.
