    • For every 100 days you're a member, you gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
    • For every 500 posts, you gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
    • For every 30 points of positive reputation you have, you gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
I don't think I am being credited a rep point for every 100 days.

by my calculations, I should have 6 altering power, but I have 5, and to be honest, I have no idea how I have 5. :knockedou

    I've been here 272 days = 2 points

    I have 1,000 posts = 2 points

my current rep count is 86, so 2

    I'm so lost now...

If anybody can clear this up for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

rep really isn't everything, it's only one point, not that big of a deal, probably something happened to the rep system or the settings were changed and the FAQ is yet to be updated

Well I fell better now that I know that I'm not the only one.

I noticed mine was off as well. I came to the conclusion that the post count and days here parts were from the time reputation was turned back on. But I may very well be wrong here. XD

EDIT: I'd have 18 under those rules, but I only have 10. =P

I'm not angry that I don't have the right amount of points.
I just want to know why I don't.
If there's a problem with the rep system, I'm sure the mods (such as yourself) would love to know about it.

Asked it before. They said it's since rep was turned on, not since you registered.

    Also, a slightly related question:
If someone's rep power changes over a period of time, does their already distributed rep change?
Like, if I have +10 rep power and I give Censored +10 rep, then in the next month, I get +5004049 rep power, will Censored get +5004049 rep?

Though I think the post count is fixed for whenever you get to one of the round numbers. For instance, I just recently made my 1500th post, and my rep power went up by one.

But yeah, I may be wrong. Perhaps I happened to have 500 posts the day rep was turned back on. :P

There was a change in the system a few months ago, adding rep power to members for the ones listed above. So your reputation power is technically right, as the changes affected it when the changes actually took place. So, yeah, they weren't always like that and reputation power is something that doesn't effect past reputation received and given.

...If any of that makes sense.

    191 Days = 1 Rep Power.
    2,961 Posts= 5 Rep Power.
    116 Rep Points= 3 Rep Power.
    Rep Power should = 9

    It does. Mines right :/
Meh, not like it matters though.

EDIT: @Aurapostle: That makes sense as to why mines right. I joined after rep came back

No, past reputation given and received are not effected. Otherwise reputation would be increasing like crazy.

    912 days = 9 pts
    1,295 posts = 2 pts
    87 reputation = 2 pts
    Overall = 13 pts

Lol, that is way off. I only have seven rep points, but I, of corse, joined wayyyyyyy before the reputation was re-installed. I'm sooo ancient, it's sad XD. 912 days really did surprise me XD. I thought I was way under that...

Erm... Ancient? Look at me, my friend :\.

Anyways, I used to have concluded that I actually have a Rep Power of 16 but I only have 11. Thus the conditions from 4/11/08 are the only ones that apply, so from there to today there was 319 days, so only 3 points are there. I don't know about post count. XD

However, it may be that the admins made SOME sorth of change to the system besides the system in the FAQ.
