Hey, what's a good DP Battle Tower team? I need to farm some BP.

On a side note, if I can fit a Porygon Z, Slowbro, Electivire, Dragonite, Gallade, Dusknoir, or Rhyperior into it, it would make my life a lot easier.

Apparently, you made it to this thread before I even posted my response. =/

    Metagross @ Shuca Berry
    Ability: Clear Body
    EVs: 168 HP / 204 Atk / 136 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Agility
    - Meteor Mash
    - Earthquake
    - Rock Slide / Zen Headbutt / Explosion
Classic AgiliGross. Zen Headbutt makes nice STAB, and the Flinch Chance is friendly.

Lucario @ Expert Belt / Life Orb
    Ability: Steadfast
    EVs: 96 Atk / 252 Spd / 160 SAtk
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def) / Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
    - Close Combat
    - Hidden Power (Fire)
    - Dragon Pulse
    - Stone Edge
Yes, it's a strange Mixed Lucario, but it's guaranteed to wipe out SkarmBliss with those EVs. HP Fire deals with Skarmory and Forretress, while Stone Edge screws off Gyarados (not that it'll die, but it'll do some damage, that's what counts right). Close Combat for the friendly STAB, and it drops Bliss in 1 hit, and Dragon Pulse for the common Dragon Sweeper variety. Life Orb is an optional item choice, but I like mine with Expert Belt.

Gengar @ Wide Lens / Choice Specs
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Hypnosis / Energy Ball
    - Focus Blast
    - Shadow Ball
    - Thunderbolt
You can use this 2 ways. Wide Lens in Combination with Hypnosis for more Sleep inducing and Focus Blast hits or Choice Specs for sheer power. Your choice.

    Dragonite @ Yache Berry
    Ability: Inner Focus
    EVs: 120 HP / 148 Atk / 240 Spd
    Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
    - Dragon Dance
    - Dragon Claw
    - Earthquake
    - Thunder
The Speed EVs prevent Weavile from causing harm to it after 1 Dragon Dance (especially those Focus Sash holding ones). Though I'd recommend running Naughty Nature for that specific cause.

2 more Pokemon? It's clear to me that you need damage absorbers.

    Snorlax @ Leftovers
    Ability: Thick Fat
    EVs: 172 HP / 40 Atk / 120 Def / 176 SDef
    Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
    - Curse
    - Rest
    - Crunch / Earthquake
    - Body Slam / Return
Your choice on Crunch or Earthquake. One way or another, you're walled by either Levitators if you run Earthquake or armored adversaries if you run Crunch.

    Hippowdon @ Leftovers
    Ability: Sand Stream
    EVs: 188 HP / 88 Atk / 232 Def
    Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
    - Earthquake
    - Slack Off
    - Stealth Rock
    - Roar / Ice Fang
Let this be your Physical Tank.

PoryZ, yes. Everything else, I doubt it. =(

    Porygon-Z @ Choice Scarf
    Ability: Adaptability
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Tri Attack
    - Dark Pulse
    - Ice Beam
    - Thunderbolt
Speed counts for a lot late in the tower, so we'll do it this way for now.

    Infernape @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Blaze
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Swords Dance
    - Stone Edge
    - Blaze Kick
    - Close Combat
1 Swords Dance makes this thing a nightmare from hell. A Blaze Kick Boosted from Blaze AND STAB is enough to make Skarmory cry its heart out.

Tyranitar @ Chople Berry / Lum Berry
    Ability: Sand Stream
    EVs: 88 HP / 144 Atk / 24 Def / 252 Spd
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Dragon Dance
    - Earthquake
    - Rock Slide / Stone Edge
    - Crunch
    Classic Dragon Dance Tyranitar.

I've been running Battle Tower with those same Pokemon (except Scared PoryZ, mine's Timid with Life Orb lol), and I've managed to pull a streak of 50+ twice. Although personally, I'd probably use something with Water Typing like Starmie in place of PoryZ. Your choice.

Thanks for the team, IceMan. I'll start working on that 'Nape soon. But is there anyone I can use in Tyrannitar's stead? I don't have a Larvitar, meaning I can't breed.

    Hmm, Garchomp maybe?

    Garchomp @ Yache Berry
    Ability: Sand Veil
    EVs: 64 HP / 200 Atk / 204 Spd / 40 SDef
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Swords Dance
    - Dragon Claw
    - Earthquake
    - Crunch / Fire Fang / Fire Blast
I know there's redundancy in having 2 Swords Dancers, but uh, I can't think of anything else cool that fits.

And for the record, you can find Larvitar in Diamond Version with PokeRadar on Route 207. If you don't have Diamond Version, then never mind.

    EQ

I've got Pearl. :P I've been meaning to get a Larvitar from my friend, but I never got around to it (probably because I've never considered a Tyrannitar for my team). But thanks, I'll try this out when I get the chance.

Well, I got directed here off my original thread, so I might as well try it, I guess.

    Arceus @ Bug Plate

    Magikarp

    Magnezone

    Smeargle

    Tyranitar

    Weezing

That's the Team. Bug Plate and all Pokemon are non-negotiable. No, this is not for "competitive" battling, but among my friends. I'd just prefer it to be the best it can be, if possible.

I was thinking Weezing / Magnezone as the Wall Setup, TTar and Arceus sweeping...Magikarp could lead with a Focus Sash Flail, and Smeargle could...FEAR ? I dunno. Two wasted slots seems like a lot of suck to me.

Thanks in advance, since I realize it's a rough combo.

Why use only one uber... why not go all ubers with Arceus and Darkrai for sweeping... Giratina and Blissey (or Cressilia) for walling purposes... and another two pokemon, but I don't know

Either way, Arceus and Magikarp on the same team is the worst idea I've ever heard

It's a team for battling my friends, who also play Pokemon. Since, well...Using Magikarp and Arceus on the same team is a generally dumb idea, but Arceus is a monster and Magikarp is a wasted pokemon slot, so it sort of evens out.

Regardless, all species[and Arceus' type] must be that. None of them can be changed.

I apologize if I come across rude in this post, I just woke up, so I'm a little off-kilter and don't feel like proofreading.

Ok looking to start a Sandstorm team, but I have no idea who to use (Rock Ground and Steel types obviously)

    Anyway a few ideas

Tyranitar - DD set, special tank (ish)
Cradily - w/ Barrier, provides some nice defence boost to go along with the sandstorm bonus to sp defence
Cacturne - Special Sweeper, this guy is a strange Sandstormer, but works due to his ability (doesn't take damage despite not being rock ground or steel typed)
    Dugtrio - CBer, PWNFUL
Claydol - Rapid Spinning, dual immunity
    Donphan - Physical tankage
Rhyperior - Another CBer. Focus Punch on switches even hurts Skarmory
    Metagross - Physical Sweeper
    Bronzong - Wall/Tank/Status Inflictor
    Garchomp - Sand Veil Abuse!!!

Now I could be cheap and use Sand Veilers, but I want to know some of the better pokemon to use on Sandstorm teams (I've heard Regirock rules, but I have a really poor one so don't bother suggesting him)
