4th Gen Resetting Shiny Porygon in Platinum

At the moment I'm resetting a Porygon you get from a guy in Pokémon Platinum.

Now I'd like to ask you if there's any way to speed up the process until I will get a shiny.

Just post any hints and comments here plz.

there isnt really any way to speed it up, if your doing it the way were just keep restarting it. just got to be patient.

yeah, I go to that guy, receive my Porygon, look @ it to see if it's a shiny and then I soft reset by pressing L+R+Start+Select.
How often do you usually have to reset?!

1/8000 is no good. that means that you'll have to reset 8000 times...

Once I got a shiny meditite in a cave though. I didn't use any cheats, hax or chaining. It just came :D Lucky me! But I'm usually unlucky.

Whoever said 40-50 times is way off. I've SRed for a shiny Kyogre well over 700 times, and some people even go over 5000, maybe 9000. Every reset does not reset the chance of getting a shiny, and there is no way to speed up the process. Watch a nice tv show or some AVGN to entertain yourself while you do it, cause you're gonna be there for a long time.

No way to increase the 1/8192 chance of getting a Shiny Porygon by Soft-Resetting the game. I remember when I soft-resetted my game 300+ times (can't remember) for a Shiny Giratina a long time ago. ​

Good luck my friend, I gave up and stuck with a normal Porygon when I rested for the 78th time. The only advice I can give you is L+R+Select+Start... But some one already told you that already...

I tried over a hundred times to get a shiny Porygon, failed miserably. Then I soft-reseted until I got a Modest Porygon with the Download ability.

1/8000 is no good. that means that you'll have to reset 8000 times...

Correction, 1/8,000 is the chances. It does not exactly mean you have to reset thousands of times. But it is very rare to get one. Good luck though on getting a Shiny Porygon, its a pain. o:

I might do that too soon. I had a few already. what are the max. values for a lvl. 25 modest Porygon?

No, he means that you don't always get one after you reset 8000 times. After 8000 resets, the chance is still 1/8192 (2¹³, since the game works in powers of 2).

instead of turning on/off, just soft reset (L+R+Start+Select), itll save time and is alot quicker

Good luck if you're still trying. The last time I SRed for a shiny was in Fire Red a year or 2 ago. It took about 400 something for a shiny charmander.

Of course you can turn it off.
