5th Gen Reshiram, Zekrom... Nah, Stunfisk should've been mascot y'know?

The Fifth Generation had a whole lot of Pokemon that could've potentially been mascots of the games. Thundurus and Tornadus, one of the sword trio, or even something as simple as Lilligant and Whimsicott.

What I want you to do is to choose two new mascots for the original games. Keep in mind that this would affect B2W2, as a result. Say your mascot choice was Reuniclus and Gothitelle. How would this affect BW, and then affect B2W2? How could you alter the story to appeal to your mascot choice? What would Ghetsis do? What use would Reshiram and Zekrom have (and Kyurem to an extent)? Could you still have the whole fusion thing if the mascots were different. Think about how your new mascots would be portrayed marketing wise, too (like White = Reuniclus, Gothitelle = Black, but how would that change the fan reception? How would you make the new mascots appeal to fans?) There's a whole lot to consider. Be as creative as possible!! Share your thoughts. n_n

Obviously the mascots should have been Cottonee and Petilil. And then Whimsicott and Lilligant after. (Not really, just keep Cottonee and Petilil)

I'd love to have had the starters as mascots, like in Red and Blue.

Yeah, starters would've worked very well - Samurott and Emboar specifically. Blastoise got left out of Gen III so Serperior could get left out of Gen V. I would still keep Black and White's storylines pretty much the same. I haven't completed Black 2 so I don't know the full deal with this fusion thing, but I can guess from the cover...so perhaps, have some sort of showdown between a fused Kyurem & Reshiram / Zekrom, and a fusion of your starter and Kyurem, or the other out of Reshiram / Zekrom?

Zebstrika and Darmanitan could've been sort've similar mascots to Reshiram and Zekrom.

I also would've believed Conkeldurr and Reuniclus, Sawk and Throh (although I'm sure a lot of people would dislike Sawk and Throh as mascots lol) orrrrrr the Therian / Altered forms of the genies.

If Kami trio were mascots of fifth generation games, that would have been pretty interesting, I suppose! Usually, they're some big dragons, but seeing that change every once in a while gives us a breath of fresh air. I'm not sure if much people would care about it, but I know I would; change is good.

Hydreigon for Black and Haxorus for White come to mind. Both are really powerful Dragons with a three-stage evolutionary line, and they sort of fit with Black (Hydreigon's Dark typing) and White (Haxorus doesn't have white on it, but it has yellow, which is a light color). Additionally, both are owned by rather powerful people--Hydreigon is owned by Ghetsis, and Haxorus belongs to Drayden/Iris. The three also all have very important positions: Ghetsis is the leader of Team Plasma and the Seven Sages, Drayden is the mayor of Opelucid and its Gym Leader, and Iris starts out as a Gym Leader but eventually becomes the Champion of Unova after Alder. That would also make for an interesting tie-in to BW2. Ghetsis's Hydreigon is stronger than Drayden's/Iris's Haxorus in BW, but in BW2, Iris's Haxorus is the stronger one.

Maybe something like Escavalier for White and Accelgor for Black? Maybe cause Escavalier's like an honourable knight which kinda ties in with with the pursuit of truth associated with Reshiram and Accelgor's his counterpart (although I don't know if ninjas and ideals work as well)?

Or maybe something like Zebstrika for Black and (spring) Sawsbuck for White? This is based mainly on colours lol. And then for the sequels, Sawsbuck could be in its Winter form to indicate that time has passed since the previous game? :)

I'd personally like to have seen the genies as the mascots. Not Landorus, but the other two. Landorus would be the Kyurem of our generation. As a result, Zekrom and Reshiram (and Kyurem) would have to be a lot weaker, buuut it would make sense to have the weather trio causing chaos throughout the region in two different ways. A legitimate hurricane from Tornadus, like it tried to drag you in as you walked, for it to be hard to walk, and the only way to bring about balance being that you had to get Thundurus, in a Reshiram/Zekrom way. Kyurem would just serve as a side story with Keldeo in that case (since according to every media Keldeo is like Kyurem's bffl or enemy w/e). Reshiram and Zekrom could even be presents, or explored in the sequels. Like biding their time in the originals while the genies wrecked havoc all over the region, and they prepared for their badassery in B2W2. Could've been ~cool~
