Just bought Sun again.(Gave my original copy as a gift to my younger cousin) I plan on transferring my Pokemon from the Poke Bank so I can just breeze through the main game and into the endgame. It's been awhile since i completed my first playthough. What are some essential things I should to once I start playing again? Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all!

What kind of advice are you really looking for? Your question is pretty unclear (at least, it is to me). D:

My first playthrough I kinda just focused on the main story. Not a lot of looking/back tracking. I was just wondering for those of you who have spent hours on the game if there was something I should focus in the early game or if there was something that was easily missed by a lot of players.

*Also to get the Shiny Charm. Have the requirements on getting it changed with the Poke bank/ National dex update or do you just need to complete the aloan pokedex to get the charm?

Thanks so much! Looking to get back in the game and start team building! Also one last question. With the Pokebank update. What happens if I transfer my Charizard w/ a mega stone?

You can't transfer items from one generation to the next. If you do, the item will be returned to the bag. You can get the Kanto starters' Mega Stones from Red after defeating him for the first time in the Battle Tree (the battle when you first get to the Tree doesn't count).

Just a heads up that if you transfer all your high-leveled Pokemon over and use them throughout the main story, they won't obey for most of the game - if that's what you were looking to do :)

HOLY CRAP I JUST REALIZED THAT LOL!!! Oh well...the hard way it is then lol

Oh and one more question guys! If I transport pokemon from the bank, do the ones i caught in other games(Alpha Saphire) count towards my aloan pokedex completion? I really want to start shiny hunting so I need that charm.

The National Dex doesn't exist in Sun & Moon (but instead as part of Pokemon Bank) so you'll only need to complete the Alola regional Dex to get the Shiny Charm.

So if I bring Pikachu that I caught from Alpha Saphire into Sun via the Pokebank I'll get credit for "capturing" it in the Alola regional Dex? I just want to make sure because I've heard something different.

Yes, if that Pokemon is in the Alola Dex, you'll still get credit for registering it.

if your gonna do that, id say breed a team of competitive mons and then trade them over to your new game to play through with. You know, hidden abilities, egg moves and max ivs and all that.

or at least make one or two....
