Reviled anime you love to watch

As the fourth post mentioned, I'm gonna have to use a Gundam example for this one. AGE was pretty good... yeah, the third arc was almost bordering SEED Destiny levels, but the first and second were on point and I could still watch the third arc without shaking my head in disappointment. The concepts that AGE brought to the table were fantastic, just not all executed correctly. Still enjoyable.

B-B-But DEEN!
Frankly, if it wasn't by DEEN people wouldn't bash it that much imo =D

Actually I kinda hated it/liked it. As Satoshi pointed out it's because it was made by Deen.

I have very limited experience with their anime, so I don't really understand this. Why would people hate it just because it was animated by a certain studio?

SAO was... Not the coolest thing ever in terms of everything except for the setting of the first season. That just blew me away, it was so cool and I was excited to watch and even liked all the timeskips.

Also Tsuritama. It's an anime about fishing and people apparently find that too weird? But if you actually watch it, you should realize what a weird pearl it is.

It doesn't really make a lot of sense if you think about it rationally from an unbiased perspective. But that's it, man. People can't be unbiased.

Most people hate studio DEEN because their works usually are pretty low quality as far their animation is concerned and their artwork is usually pretty off-model even in pivotal moments of the series they're handling. Plus, they're not the greatest with episode direction or pacing. And, looking through some of the more recent series they have done (Log Horizon 2 comes to mind!), it all becomes really clear - what I've said isn't exactly wrong.

Over time, a bad track record can lead to people associating the said studio with bad productions in general. As a result, even if they DO manage to come up with something really great, people still probably won't be able to keep their bias out of their perception for that series. Because studio XYZ is ****, that's why.

I'm not blaming Satoshi or Kenichiin tbh. I personally share their sentiments about studio DEEN. And Toei animation. Toei animation can burn right in hell. >_> But yeah, in short, if an anime is picked up or done by DEEN, there's a much lesser chance of me being excited for it than, say, a series done by Production I.G, Madhouse or BONES.

Still, I can give credit where it is due. At least Toei animation can do wonders if they're trying. DEEN, on the other hand, uhh nope.

First I've ever heard of this one tbh lol. I'll check it out. I have stuff like Silver Spoon on my list (anime about farming) and some of my favorite anime recently comprise of some pretty absurd settings (cooking anime - Shokugeki no Soma!) so the setting shouldn't really weird me out much haha.

"It's Deen"

That's seriously everything that needs to be said =D

DEEN productions are kinda lame, basically, but they still do good stuff once in a while. For example, Higurashi (Season 1) had terrible animation. However, since they noticed it was successful, the second season was much better. They do know how to do things well, they just prefer not doing it lol

Omg! A Gundam AGE fan! I thought I was alone in this world. I loved the whole thing. It was like a "Gundam for dummies" (due to the screentime) that went actually pretty well. In fact, it gives a better idea of how a Gundam story should work in comparison with other spinoffs.
