@seto girl-As said before to another n00b, Did you take any time at all to look at the features? You shouldn't judge just by appearance, that starts bad things, every time.
Don't accuse people of being a n00b. It is rude.

XD That made me laugh. "You're going to be late for school, plus you're going to be late for school!"

Nintendo is filthy bloody rich...they're just waiting for that one moment that sony and microsoft mess up so they can put that money to good use.

Sony and Microsoft can afford to continue even if their consoles don't sell, Nintendo can't for long.
Which is it? I've never read anything about financial problems with Nintendo aside from a fiscal quote or two not being as high as they anticipated. Which isn't that big of a deal. Over 20 years in business and only two (I think. I'm sure of one, I'm saying two just to be safe) "bad" quarters, shouldn't make a big difference.[/font]

Don't worry about Britt she says alot of odd stuff 0.o

Anways isn't this topic about the new controller not Nintendo's financial status.

The thing is, an offshoot of the main topic isn't always off topic. Now that we've discussed the controller itself it's alright to discuss the ramifications of the controller or the factors that could have led up to the existance of the controller, because those are important things to think about.

Such as in the current topic; we could ask ourselves whether this controller is a product of nintendo's desperation to regain financial security or a sign that nintendo is so confident in its security that it has produced something that is postentially deleterious to their business.

Before I help steer this topic back onto topic let me just say, Nintendo ISN'T gonna go into a finacial crisis!

Anyway, I actually like the Revolution's controller because it is definately a new and imagine the possiblites...*Or just imagine how to play Super Smash Bros. with it, or Metroid Prime 3 or...*Drools.**

Also, is it just me sweeties, or the controller can be held a different way...

LEIK ITZ TEH NEW NES CONTROLER!!!11ONEONE

Sweeties, I think I had too much sugar this morning. XD

commercial

I was listening to a commercial on TV (I wasn't in the room, thus listening XD) today. And it had people coming up and talking about changes in history and how people didn't like change and all that sort of stuff (some of you might have seen it on TV).
And I thought of the Rev controller just then. Because a lot of people thinks this is a crazy idea, and won't work, and will kill Nintendo etc. A lot of people thought Sony and Microsoft was crazy when they got in the mix. Sega and Nintendo owned gaming and here comes Sony. And later own Sony and Nintendo owned gaming and here came Microsoft. Both systems most people thought they wasn't going to go anywhere. More or less the same with this controller, it might be something that changes the way of gaming. As of right now we don't know, but down the road in the gen after the next one, we might see signs of Nintendo's work here in the next PlayStation or the next X-Box. The controller idea is new, and most people will think it's crazy. But no one should pass judgement on something (good or bad) till you hold it in your hand and play it for yourself.

Jeremy: Nintendo did say you can hold it that way.
And the next SSB will most likely use the shell. XD

The whole point of this thread is to pass judgment on the controller based on the shots we saw >_>

We won't know if this is a good or bad thing based on how it looks. But what we CAN do, more like what we should do, is hypothesize on how we think it'll do or play or whatever.

I believe the controller won't do very good. I haven't played it or anything, but I have seen it. And me simply saying my view has just as much validity as any of you guys supporting it.

BOO ya!

ok i now see that nintendo might as well take a chance and give this controler a go.BUT lets be serious the controlers appearence WILL drive away some people to sony and microsoft.i won't be driven away and i'll probably end up buying one.cause i don't have a HDtv!

I think the rev. controler is a bit over rated. its no better than the DS! all it does is make a sword thing! AND the control whold be hard to work because you have to move your thumb constantly. Im sorry if I seem opinionated, but geez ppl...you can do better than a remote.

360 or revolution

i think the revolution controler looks better than the cube but the xbox 360 looks easier to handle

How do you KNOW? YOU DON'T. Nintendo isn't stupid. They have lots of people and lots of time to work with this thing. If it feels uncomfortable, I THINK SOMEONE WILL NOTICE. The japanese, IIRC, have hands like everyone else. I don't think they're unable to tell when something doesn't feel right.

GAHD. Some of you people are just being ridiculously superficial and overly-pessimistic. I can totally understand being unsure about this, but we still don't even know that much about the controller. I'm not saying that it can't possibly fail, JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU'VE TRIED IT.

i got to admit with you dude, you people are not thinking i mean just look at the revolution control it looks just like an I POD who knows what it can do it probably has better functions then that big bat control of the ps3

Thank you ruby...for not contributing anything to the debate, at all...

You know that there's always the possibility of it being unconfortable to gamers because of it's very nature...
If lots of people don't feel confortable with the TV remote design, changing it to a totally different design removes what makes the Rev unique.

And take a second to read what you posted, it's no better than his post. You attempt to refute his opinion of it being unconfortable with an opinion that has just as little foundation as yours.

While some of us are being 'ridiculously superficial and overly-pessimistic', others are being just as ridiculously style-ignorant and overly-optomistic.
And none of us have even touched it. Go figure, or even rant if you must.

As of now, we have pictures and a feature list to base our opinions off of, which basically means that the only comments providing any contribution to this discussion are:
-The feature list or pictures themselves
-Possibilities of feature usage
-Jokes
-Or even a simple 'I like it' or 'I don't like it'

I think some of you people have forgoten why the revolution control
looks like a remote ...:pirate: well its becouse nintendo have decided to
but a DVD drive into the console like the xbox or ps2 so it will increase
the chances of buyers into convincing them to buy the revolution
plus if you had an xbox or ps2 it was hard to control the dvd sistem
so most people had to buy that oficial remote

1 more thing remember back in 2000 when the dreamcast was released
it was meant to be the best console of the year but sega died and had to
join nintendo becouse they did a lot of mistakes with the games
the point is that nintendo don't do mistakes thats why the business
is still going on

That's brilliant..instead of doing the logical thing like market for games and third party support...they focus everthing on DEE VEE DEE!!!

plus if you had an xbox or ps2 it was hard to control the dvd sistem

that's whay you don't use your x-box or ps2 for dvds...use a *gasp* dvd player

I can't begin to fathom, how wrong you are. Sega died because of poor business planning, they spent their money poorly. Nintendo makes mistakes to...fanboy

Ok then...it officiall...there's is, OFFICIALLY, nothing anyone else can say about the revolution that hasn't already been said...

wow, why don't wait till it comes out? No way!!

Case closed

your right maybe i went a litle hard on the sega bit
but the point is that i know that the revolution control
will not be a MISTAKE

Umm...I don't think that's the reason, no. They want something that non-gamers can use, and something non-gamers are familar with is the TV remote.

Do I think it's a good design? Heck, no. Do I want them to use something else or redisgn it? Yep. But I do like the motion sensors and the idea of the expandable controller.

what nintendo wants is a control that will look fancier than the ps3 or 360, and yeah lots of
people are always watching tv so they made a
control that is similer to a tv remote
