Richard Steel's Battle Stadium

man I suck, you got any tips?

haha, you don't suck! You've got a pretty good team, and if Meteor Mash would've missed on Gengar, you might have had a chance. My suggestion: get yourself a Rapid Spinner. Spikes (especially three of them) can seriously screw you up, but a Rapid Spinner could cure that in a single move. Also, when you know your opponent has someone like Skarmory (with Spikes or Stealth Rock), watch your switches; switching to Umbreon or other kinds of Walls is pretty much just a welcome mat for Skarmory to lay down at least one bed of Spikes, or someone else to get a Stealth Rock into play.

So, anyone else up to a battle? I could squeeze one more into the night, then its bed time for moi.

my main concern wasn't spikes it your metagross using agility thanks anyway night

Yeah... generally, when my Metagross comes into play, you have to take him out FAST before he Agilities, or switch to a counter, which is difficult, because with Thunderpunch he hits nearly every single Poke for good damage.

But yeah... if you can't take him out in one to two hits after he Agilities, he will pretty much pwn everyone you have with that truly monstrous Attack and Defense he has.

Anyways, I'm off to bed... work AGAIN in the morning. So anyone who wants to battle, leave me a request here and I'll get back to you a bit later tomorrow evening.

I'm up for a casual battle. My team right now I just whipped up and it has no strategy, so you have a good chance at winning.

I should still have you registered, so I'll just wait on wifi.

Eh, I'll battle you after DBsummit. xD

Okie dokie, I'll give it a shot... if you're still on, that is.

I'll be waiting in WiFi.

Good battle Shift, you win. At least I know to get rid of that crappy Gallade now. Richard I'll be right back on after I switch out Gallade.

Shift, that Porygon-Z you have is completely unbelievable.

It's not holding a Choice Scarf (used two different moves while still in play), but yet it somehow managed to outrun a Timid Starmie? Yeah right, not a chance, buck-o.

DBsummit, give me a few to switch my team around some.

Hoshiko, if you're still on after DBsummit, we can square off, okay?

Huh? It held a Choice Scarf. But I switched it out after you Seismic Toss'd me with Blissey. Doesn't switching out let you choose another move?

EDIT: I KNOW. That it was holding a Choice Scarf. And I know that it only used one move each time it went in because of that stupid, "Choice Scarf only allows the use of Thunderbolt!"

C'mon Richard, do you really think the game would let me use two moves on a Choice Scarf'd Porygon-Z during a Wi-Fi battle? I can't control the game. Nor can I alter the effects of a item.

Bah, just blissey vs starmie.

Looks like I lost.

haha, Rapid Spin.

However, you are by far one of the best trainers I've ever battled. That critical hit at the beginning really helped me out... but then you got a crit hit with Skarmory, although I think Hyper Beam would've OHKOed her anyways.

It's actually funny... I got a Garchomp seeing as how its so hyped, and I've seen it massacre teams. But I can't seem to use him right, it's always my Metagross that does the pwning.

Shift: I forgot I used Whirlwind on Porygon-Z, and then you brought him back out. Sorry, I just could've sworn you used two moves. But no worries, I had my Spiritomb, which has yet to impress me, so I expected to do poorly. Starmie, on the other hand, I think may be a keeper.

No, I didn't think WiFi screwed up, but it would be clever to hack just a single stat, like Speed. But I trust you, and now that I remember Skarmory Whirlwinding Por-Z (you really should've just used Thunderbolt, unless you thought I'd switch to Claydol), I realized I made a mistake. If I just would've had my Alakazam, your team would have been in a world of Hell. ;) haha, rematch soon? I gotta get rid of Tomby.

Hoshiko, you ready?

Well it's a good thing I didn't use Tyranitar that time either, that would have just helped your Garchomp even more.

Also thanks for the compliment.

Oh yeah and I was surprised your Metagross was able to outrun my Choice Scarf Heracross. Even with Agility, I wasn't expecting it to be that fast.

EDIT: Looking at his base speed now, (70) that makes sense, compared to Heracross' 85 base speed. I guess I either overestimated Heracross' speed or just underestimated Metagross' speed.

Yes, I am. Let's battle, shall we?

Yes, let's!

Well, I bred a 31 IV in Speed (Metagross needs all he can get), and the only Pokemon I've seen outrun him after an Agility is Aerodactyl. Although I'm sure some speed demon like Alakazam could do it too. Also, don't forget that the Scarf raises it by 1.5, I'm not sure how much Agility raises it?

Also, your Starmie was effing fast... outran my Timid Starmie with 31 IV Speed AND maxed out EVs. I have to assume it was the same with yours, but in a case where the Speeds are EXACTLY the same, how is it decided who goes first?

EDIT:

Hoshiko, I'm on WiFi now.

Yeah, my Starmie is Timid with 31 IV Speed and 252 EV as well. When it's the same, the game just does a coin toss.

Also, Agility doubles your speed.
