Richard Steel's Battle Stadium

True, but ya did use Protect a fair bit of times when I had Bronzong. I never thought of being offensive with Blissey, so ya overpredicted that. If you don't mind another match later tonight, I'm here!

Does your 'Zong know Explosion?

If it does, Protect was completely justified.

Running a stall team, Reflect/Light Screen doesn't give me much trouble one way or the other. I should actually use it myself, but that works better when you've got a decent sweeper out. In a team full of walls, it makes little difference. And I'm not fond of the time limit it sets. Kind of like Trick Room, a godly move for a slow-as-hell stall team like I usually run.

And I can't battle anymore tonight, since I have a Chemistry quiz tomorrow, which I didn't even begin to study for. But tomorrow I'll be available later in the day.

Ooo, get offline & go study!

Also, nope, Zong has no Big Boom! :P

As for Reflect Screen, it takes skill & practice to pull it off. & shee stupidity. You have the first two. I have all three :P

I'm bored, how about a battle sometime? I've never battled you before.

I'm afraid I can't at the moment... I just came on quick before class, but if you're on a bit later tonight, I'd be happy to battle you! I already have a date with Sims, so I could make it a double date. ;) haha

Okay sure that's fine, later on tonight would be fine.

Yes. :D

I will be ready in a bit, give me some time.

No rush.

I'll be waiting on WiFi!

EDIT:

Hmmm... I must admit, I'm not buying the fact that Head Smash virtually OHKOed my Starmie.

EDIT II:

Okay, I'm sorry, but something's not right. Fire Blast does a load to Metagross, but coming from Clefable, it doesn't OHKO.

I'm not trying to accuse you of stat hacking, but your Pokemon are doing suspiciously large amounts of damage.

Hey Richard, it's Lemonade! Long time no talk, just wondering what's your battle record now?

And about the Head Smash, it may be hacked, what can you expect from a member with 0 posts? Never know if they read the rules or not.

Ill edit the stats into this post after the battle.

As for member with 0 posts, that is only because I do not care to post in forums other than this one.

Clefable "Erhu" (Timid) @ Life Orb, Magic Guard. 269 sp. atk.
Relicanth "Catfish" (Adamant) @ Choice Band, Rock Head. 306 atk.

Remember, Rock Head is a 150 atk power move, and on relicanth its stab'd. Thats a 225 attack power move, pretty rediculous coming off essentially a 459atk pokemon. For reference, it 2ko's skarmory, a physical wall for whom the move is neutral.

Don't bother, I looked them up myself. And you can never really be sure the other person is being truthful.

90 base Attack with a 150 base attack move.
Against Starmie, I'm truly surprised it OHKOed.
And I still don't quite believe it would. But I guess its possible.

And Clefable, the part of the battle that really raised a red flag: base 85 Special Attack, 120 base attack move (un-STABed)... shouldn't have OHKOed Metagross. I've sen him survive Fire Blast from Garchomp, let alone Clefable. Same thing against Dugtrio... Dugtrio survives a supereffective HP[Ice] from Jolteon, so I know for a fact he can take a special hit when need be. But Fire Blast OHKOed him (not counting the Stealth Rock damage, which was trivial in this situation).

Now, Duggy survives HP[Ice] at 70 power, double from weakness makes it 140. How is it he survives that, from Jolteon, but not a 120 base move from Clefable?

Clefable just has too low a base special attack for me to believe she was dishing out the power she was dishing out.

And the Dugtrio OHKO is what really irks me.

EDIT:

Hmmm... Life Orb? Still not too impressed... her special attack becomes roughly 128, not far below Jolteon.

Either way, that OHKO on Starmie essentially saved you. Besides Clefable, she OHKOs nearly your entire team.

I am perfectly willing to do a tradeswap thingy with you if you want to check its stats. I have the pokesav setup if you want to double check that as well to be sure the numbers match.

EDIT - Yeah, Fireblast is max 202 damage off those stats so it was the Stealth Rock hit that let it kill for sure.

If Probobass was still alive it might have been able to do something. I assume you had the Spinner set with Boltbeam? If so, Probobass would have had an effective 336 x2 (sandstorm) = 672 special defense, and then hit back with Thunder.

Of course it wasn't alive at that point. So kinda moot.

I understand the distrust, but please, understand that I hold myself to the standard I put below in my signature. I will never create a pokemon with illegal moves or satistics and knowingly use it. If I ever found out that it did have such problems in or after a match I would immediately concede and count it as my loss. I would like to think that I hold myself to a high standard in that respect.

Eh, don't worry about it. I wasn't all that prepared to go against a Sandstream team, and a few of your moves took me by surprise. If I had just switched Starmie, things may have turned out different. I've never been fond of Sandstream teams, since they use Garchomps, and Garchomp gets a significant hax boost in Sandstream (Shadow Ball and Seismic Toss missing is unheard of! True story. haha)

In fact, I think my trusty old Milotic may have massacred your team once Clefable was out of the way. XD

Are you looking at Dugtrio for those stats? If so, be sure to take into account that my Duggy has 42 SpDef EVs.

And I wouldn't dare go against Probopass in a Sandstorm with a special sweeper... he would have said hello to Dugtrio no matter what. But a 4x weakness to Earthquake can make anything suck. Ever considered a Cradily? That thing is utterly insane in a Sandstorm. It's like a Blissey on crack.

Yeah but Cradily has a weakness to Fighting, and sand teams almost always carry Tyranitar, Gliscor would be better to cover it's weakness =D

However, Gliscor can't take a special hit to save its life. Cradily eats Draco Meteor from SpecsMence like it were candy. Swords Dance Armaldo is another sub-standard Pokemon that can be a beast in a Sandstorm. People usually use over rated Pokes in Sandstream teams that really don't benefit as much as other, more BL/UU Pokemon. Mix Skarmory or a really tough Steel type into the equation, and you've got a hell of a Sandstream team.

Well actually, my team wasn't so much trying be a Sandstream team as I was trying to make it a Gravity team which just happened to be using Sandstorm because it works well with 2 of the pokemon who learn Gravity (Clefable, Probobass). Dusknoir, despite being very good, doesn't work well in a Sandstorm.

Indeed, the major weakness of Sandstream teams is Water.

I really hate to use Garchomp as well, and I hadn't thought of Cradilly or Armaldo when I was throwing this together at who-knows-when AM last night. Gravity kinda takes the hax out Sand Veil now that I think about it due the the -2 Evasion stages it causes. I also don't like to fill my team with OU, hence why Clefable, Probobass, and Relicanth are in there (people really don't use them so often).

@ Name - I did indeed have Gliscor.

EDIT - Also, you have 666 posts Richard. Satanic. >.>

EDIT 2 - Also you are the more experienced player here for sure Richard. I played very badly, not waiting to see if you had a Steel type like Skarmy, 'Zone, or Forretress before sending out Probopass, staying in rather than Swtiching when I wondered if you had Ice Beam on Blissey, etc.

But I would like to know what in particular surprised you about my team so I can get an idea of the reactions. Clefable is almost always an enigma for moveset I know, but what else?

haha, I know, it's awesome.

I'm afraid to post anywhere else, because it's too cool to lose. XD

Anyways, would someone else like to battle?

I want to try out an extremely experimental team that I don't have too much hope for, but is fun to use no matter what. It's basically my variation of a Sandstream team.
