Richard Steel's Battle Stadium

Yeah, that Snorlax you have is a TANK. I couldn't believe how it absorbed a STAB Tri-Attack from Modest Porygon-Z... even Blissey takes a huge chunk of damage from that one. And Stone Edge from Steelix didn't even break his sub. XD That surprised me.

Anyways, I edited in a response in my last post.

Starmie vs. Blissey is the best example of how futile it is for a special sweeper to go up against the Mighty Pink Blob of Death. haha, Starmie was doomed from the start.

You also got pretty lucky with haxes! That always screws me up. I'm thinking you were trying for a death by parahax. haha
This may sound dumb but what does Stab mean?
I think i have an idea of what it means but im just not really sure.

It surprised me too, heh. That Steelix did quite a good job as well, blasting away my Subs. XD

Yeah, it was pretty much the only strategy I had left. XD

Steelix did do well! I love that big Steel snake, but he tends to take a bit too much damage from super effective physical hits. I practically maxed out his Defense (gave him the same EV spread as the standard Skarmory), and even with close to 530 Defense, he still gets dented pretty badly by Earthquake and Focus Punch.

This may sound dumb but what does Stab mean?
I think i have an idea of what it means but im just not really sure.

STAB is using the same attacking type as the Pokemon's type using it, and the attack gains a 1.5 boost. For example, Earthquake on Metagross is not STABed, so it stays at a base 100 power. But Earthquake from Garchomp is STABed, so it automatically becomes 150 base power.

That's why whenever you're in a situation that a Pokemon can't hit a foe for super effective damage, you always use a STAB attack. For example, if you have an Alakazam without Energy Ball up against a Donphan, some people may use Focus Blast because it has a godly 120 base damage. But Psychic gets a STAB (1.5 boost), so it becomes an automatic 135 base damage, which is more than Focus Blast. So the apparently 90 base Psychic will in fact do more neutral damage than a 120 base Focus Blast, just because it's the same type as Alakazam.

Hopefully all that made sense. XD

Up for a battle Richard? XD

Sure, sure... once again, I'll use my experimental team, with a few revisions due to the fact that some of the Pokes on it, for lack of better terminology, SUCK.

I'll be on WiFi in a few. ;)

Looking forward to battling it. :D

I'd have a new team but hatching eggs is just so tedious. : /

Okie dokie, I be on!

There's one element I usually have that I don't have no... hopefully it won't make much of a difference.

EDIT:

Good game, Punishment! Wow did that battle take forever... I admit you got haxed pretty badly in some situations. I apologize about that one. I had to be careful, because I no longer had an Aromatherapist or a Rapid Spinner. But Wish Passing Blissey FTW! Once you started going Knock Off crazy, I wasn't sure if I was gonna pull off a win. But I don't know why SubPunch Gengar seemed to cause you trouble. :-/

Oh, and also, I'm not sure what you were trying with that Jumpluff switch in (got a critical hit, but Ice Beam would have KOed it either way)... trying to out-predict me? :P Impossible! XD

Meh I've always had a horrible time with Gengar. Knock Off Craze won't happen without Wish support though. I wasn't going down without dragging it as long as possible though.

Well I'm invigorated to finish up this other team now. :D

Good game as usual. Funny thing is I had a double Aromatherapist and Leecher this battle. XD

haha, well, it's always good to be prepared!

I realized that I would have done more damage to Donphan with Earthquake than Dragon Claw... I think I forgot that Donphan doesn't resist it. Whoops! And I could have easily KOed Donphan with Milotic near the end... I think I was trying to be clever when I switched, only to get Knock Offed. haha

I usually stick Garchomp in when I'm testing certain Pokemon, because he is very cheap, and way too easy to win with. I think I went sacrifice crazy near the end to see if your Ludicolo had Ice Beam... I had to be sure Garchomp was safe to go against it. Otherwise, Donphan could have KOed my entire team, and be left with a Blissey/Milotic stall war. Or even worse, a Blissey/Blissey stall war. :knockedou

I was trying to aim for that. XD

Well Wish Bliss > Wish Jirachi. I knew I wasn't going to win. I love Knock Off. ^_^

Many people don't relize that removing items can severly cripple someone's strategy.

Wow can I have a battle too? BTW steel type pokemon pwn, they resist ice, rock and dragon attacks, which some of the dragons have a weakness to XD.

Sure, I don't see why not. Let me add you, and I'll hop on WiFi!

And Matzzz, good battle! You're in serious need of a special wall. Starmie had a complete field day with your team... and don't put Magical Leaf on Gallade, his Special Attack isn't worth it. That's how Starmie survived it.

thanks for the advice and good game ... you may find a rematch coming your way in time
