There are obviously Pokemon that are large enough to carry human beings comfortably. Some of these (just to get the idea) are Rapidash, Ponyta, Tauros, Dodrio, Arcanine, etc.

My question is do you think in the PokeWorld, there would be special saddles made for riding these Pokemon?

I mean sure, you can ride Dodrio, but its round body and swift speed would sure make it hard to hang onto.

So anything to do with riding Pokemon would go here... I guess d:

I think ash and friends took a ride on Lapras in Mewtwo Strikes Back. I highly doubt there would be saddles, unless you have a specially trained Pokemon. I think fighting with a Rapidash then putting a saddle on and riding it would be silly.

It's like in the Pokemon Centers. Chansey's are trained to work there, not to battle. I think it's the same with any riding Pokemon. You could breed Rapidash and train them all to be riding and make some money out of that, but I think that would be cruel.

Well,If pokeworld was real.I would rather ride on the back of a torterra as it walks thru a forest.

    So it really depends.

Haha same, though it might be a bit slow...... But you could always have a picnic on it :p

I would say there would be saddles, special ones for like Rapidash etc.

This aspect of Pokémon is depicted well in most Pokémon franchise and media.

In the anime, Pokémon such as Arcanine, Lapras, Pidgeot and Rapidash have been featured in episodes where they were ridden by their trainers. It seems that to ride the Pokémon, the trainer must have a strong bond with them. Otherwise, problems will occur (such as Rapidash burning the trainer if he doesn't sit and direct it properly).

In the Video Games, I think most people are familar with the HM's which involve you riding on your trained Pokémon. These HM's include: Fly, Surf, Dive, Waterfall and Whirlpool. You don't really need to bond with your Pokémon to let them ride on you and, as long as you've unlocked the HM and have enough badges, it's as simple as pressing a sequence of buttons. Also note that riding Pokémon is also a frequent feature in Pokemon Ranger where the ranger befriends Pokémon to try and help him solve problems in the land.

Finally, in the manga, Pokémon are also ridden quite frequently. Most of the trainers including Red, Blue and Misty rode the Pokémon big enough to help them with tasks. Also, the HM's were mixed into things due to the fact that the manga has a lot of game references so most of the time the trainer rode the Pokémon, a certain HM was being used.

I doubt that saddles were used in the Pokemon world. Ash and co. rode on Lapras in the Orange Islands saga and I didn't see any saddles anywhere.

Saddles sound pretty ridiculous...Yes yes, a Doduo. Nice. "Hey, I bet 100 dollars on the dude on the Doduo! Oww...I bet we could use some saddles for this!" The next day everybody were riding around on Rapidashes instead of riding their bicycles.

    ...

No wait, now tha you mention it it would be epic.

No....I don't think there would be saddles...

Putting a saddle on my Arceus would be humiliating......and it'd be too darn expensive to construct one to fit round my Wailord or Torterra.

I'm sure in Pokemon Ranger when you do that capture challenge on the Dodrio (or Doduo, not sure) it appears to have some reins and a saddle. But that's probably just reins due to the odd shape and difficulty commanding it verbally fast enough at those speeds.

I think its kinda make sense if a Pokemon wears a Saddle as well. I mean yeah, Of course. If Pokeworld is real, I bet whoever ride Ponyta or Rapidash would get their ass burn because not wearing a saddle. Or...no?

No, I think if the Pokemon trusts the trainer enough, it'll let the trainer ride comfortably without a saddle.

Would I ride my Pokemon myself? Probably not, as the ride would probably not be too comfortable and most Pokemon I know don't come with plush 8-way power adjustable seats.

Speaking of which, I wonder why out of all of the things that have become Pokemon, why there hasn't really been any based on modern vehicles - at least immediately come to mind. Could you imagine a bicycle, motorcycle, or automobile Pokemon? Or a locomotive or aeroplane?

When I was younger, I imagined the evolution of Magneton to be Magnetank - basically a giant tank with Magnemite heads. That's about as close as I can think of.

Because Pokemon is actually based on a real life creatures that live at certain areas as well. Like Geodude as a Rock, Which it appear anywhere as well as that stupid Zubat who always appear almost to every region in most Caves that makes my Money ran out just because of buying 99 Max Repels. As for Modern things, I think there's some like you've said. Like Rotom that can appear as various things, And I think thats enough to me.

It's suppose to be that Ponyta's and Rapidash's flame won't burn you if it trusts you. This can be seen in the episode "The Flame Pokemon-athon."

Hahaha! Yeah, I know. That's what I mean to say too. When Rapidash or Ponyta doesn't trust you, It's Flames can burn your ass. Maybe it will. Perhaps, on a Villain such as Galactic and the rest if they're trying to do something bad on them.

I'm Certain i would have no problems riding a mamoswine XD It would be like like a big cozzy chair just hop on his head or back and tell him where to go :) if it gets ruff lightly grip a tuff of hair XD
