Okay, after getting back into the scene with my last team I was getting a little tired of how it was running. I went to work and created a new one that I hope will run a little better and won't bore me as quickly as the last one did. When I made this team I wanted to make Lucario my main attacker, so I started with him and branched off to Pokémon that cover his weaknesses. I'm pretty sure that I've covered a lot of what my team is weak to, but I'm still a little inexperienced with the new metagame so I may have missed something. If I could get you guys to improve my sets (this includes better natures, EVs, and movesets) and point out any obvious and dangerous weaknesses, that'd be great.

[Note: This team will only be tested on Shoddy battle and the final build is strictly for D/P WiFi Battles]

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Levitate / Naïve Nature
EVs: 252 ATK / 252 SPD / 6 Sp. ATK
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
- Psychic
- Taunt

Suicidal Azelf lead FTW? I think so. Stealth Rock support will give a lot of help to Lucario so that he can get the KO faster. Like almost every Azelf lead set, Explosion is there for when your Sash's ability is negated. Taunt will keep other leads from setting up and Psychic is there for the obvious STAB attack. No need for Fire Blast due to my Gliscor being about to outstall Bronzong.

Yes, I know that SpecsLuke has more surprise factor in him than this set, but IMO he doesn't run as well or as long as a SDLuke and ends up getting set up on (Note that this is not bashing on SpecsLuke fans, just my personal experience with him). SDLuke is always destructive for me and that's why I want to make him my main focal point for the team with that destructive sweep he has. =] Crunch > Stealth Rock for just personal preference.

Water Absorb / Modest Nature
EVs: 252 DEF / 252 Sp. ATK / 4 HP

- Ice Beam

- Surf

Vaporeon counters Gyara and packs a nice punch with Specs. Wish support is also welcome.

Sturdy / Impish Nature

- Rapid Spin
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Knock Off

Donphan will be acting as my support. He'll knock away Spikes/Stealth Rocks while also using Knock Off to get rid of Leftovers.

EVs: 244 HP / 188 DEF / 76 SPD

- Taunt
- Fire Fang

Gliscor has pretty much become a staple for my teams mainly because he's so effective. I found this set when I came back to battling and I've pretty much fallen in love with it. Taunt+Fire Fang combo is excellent because it allows me to outstall the likes of Skarmory, Bronzong and Fortress. He also keeps Heracross and Breloom at bay, which is a nice bonus. I'm pretty sure that he'll also keep Lucario from running over top of me (I'm not real sure since I've only come across one Lucario since returning to battling and Gliscor was down for the count at that point).

Intimidate / Adamant Nature
EVs: 252 ATK / 136 SPD / 120 HP
- Dragon Dance

- Stone Edge

Standard DDMence. Stone Edge helps with the flying types like Zapdos. I don't think I really need to explain anything else.

DDGyara hurts. Starmie can't take too many hits from it.

Gyarados tears through your Starmie after a Dragon Dance. EQ or Bite'll OHKO, whereas you fail to outspeed it. After that, it takes out every member of your team in 1-2 hits. I reccomend something over Donphan, since, besides countering TTar (who can hurt this team as well) isn't doing much. Vaporeon could work, heck you could remove Starmie....for a Choice Specs Vaporeon.

Hmm... I really like Vaporeon so I might just change Starmie out. It's wish will also help out Lucario some to heal Life Orb damage. Thanks for the suggestion. =]

Donphan is doing absolutely nothing for this team. Rapid Spin is useless and Salamence even has Wish support.

Also, I'm not feelin' Fire Fang on Gliscor. Taunt is more than enough to render Bronzong, Skarmory, and Forretress useless. They won't stay in on Taunt anyways. You might as well use Aerial Ace for SDcross, who otherwise gives your team a lot of problems if it's Jolly (meaning it will torch your Salamence and OHKO it with Stone Edge).

About Donphan's replace, I'd get something that can hit hard right away. Vaporeon is good at that but it alone honestly isn't great at softening up stuff for a Lucario sweep. You do have a Heatran problem (Vaporeon no no SDef or HP is not very good against Heatran) so I think CBlax could work here. You could also play games predicting with it and having Vaporeon take most of the hits, which works too.

Just keep in mind that Gliscor will be left to take care of TTar on it's own and well, repeated Stone Edges will hurt.

I agree with Anti-Pop, from the looks of things your phan isn't doing you any favors being on this team. He won't do any sweeping, so leaving him there isn't very useful.

I'm thinking on What to replace him with, so i'll edit this later with a couple ideas.

Again, ur probly sick of hearin this, but donphan is a hinderance to this team. Also, I no u have Luke as ur main attacker, but ur team is major ice weak!
Mamoswine cud b a nuisance with ice shard and other ice types of the like. I wud have preferred jolly on Luke, but thts jst personal preference. Hope this helps!

Donphan slot could be put to better use and Gliscor and mence are ehhhh...

Make Mence bulky and you can merge gliscor and your current mence into one pokemon -

"bulky mence" this can act as your fighting resist so you will no longer need gliscor, as an added bonus it can sweep late game too.

That way you have 2 slots that could be put to better use, aka donphan and gliscors old slot.

Sorry for responding so late. mid-terms are coming up and I got caught up in studying. So Donphan won't be helping me out much then? The Bulky Mence looks good and if it can really provide me with the same help that Gliscor can I'll use it. I'm not going to make the change if the first post yet because now I'm down two pokes and I need see what I can replace Phan and Gliscor with.

CS Heatran can replace your Donphan to eliminate an Ice weak. Sure, Mamoswine can cause problems anyway, but it'll have to Earthquake on the switch to catch it.

I hate how much Heatran is used, but Heatran itself is also a great Heatran counter. Heatran vs. Heatran is a common situation, and the non-locked one will win 100% of the time with poor enemy prediction.

If you fear Mamoswine THAT much, Bullet Punch >> Extremespeed on Cario. :)

252 attack is just overkill, and doesn't give you those extra boosts to OHKO some of the common leads with Psychic. ScarfHera outruns you, and with no sp. att, he CAN live it. As does ScarfApe lead and others.

Thanks to the new Platinum, this little 2 foot puppy can rape some drags with ice punch and destroy ghosts with it at the same time. Which really was the only dispute over Crunch/SE to begin with. SE hit both, but nailed the dragons, and crunch was for ghosts. After a SD, your Ice Pawnch, will do some mass damage any way.

Donphan doesn't help you at all. Sure a Knock Off is nice, and rapid spin seems likely, but with the fast majority of Gengars and Spiritombs I've seen floating around, you won't likely get one up any way. I'd consider a replacement.

Now thats just plain silly. After a taunt, Neither zong/Skarm/forrtress will stay in reguardless. If you are worried about hera/loom, go with AA. It's more fitting and gets some pleasant STAB.
