  • MWUHAHAHA, OLD MOD BEATS NEW MOD.

Yet old mod is no longer mod ;3

You know what I've been wanting to say for a few days? This:
Y'know what RP I think would be interesting?
    A Minecraft RP.
Y'know why? 'Cause I hev no idea how you would pull it off.

...Now that I think about it, you could incorporate Pokemobs... so it could be a Minecraft/Pokemon RP.
I still hev no idea how that would work :S

  • ...Actually, I just thought of something.

I was looking at my theme, which consists of screenshots from the anime adaptation of the game "Sands of Destruction"/"World Destruction" (it's an awesome DS game/anime that you can watch on Funi's site subbed or dubbed, by the way /shameless advertising), and it came to me that maybe I could use a bit of its plot but in the Pokemon world?

The basic plot of SoD/WD is that one person is known as the "Destruct" and has the power to destroy the world. However, said person cannot control his power; rather it activates when a phrase is spoken ("Noct est fabula" or something like that...Idk I can't remember at the moment >_<). He is recruited by a girl who wants to destroy the world. Eventually, though, the girl realizes she doesn't want to destroy the world, but rather change it for the better. It is also discovered that the Destruct has the power to create rather than destroy, so they set out to do that instead.

tl;dr Boy has power to destroy world. Boy is recruited by girl to destroy world. Girl changes mind and decides with the Destruct to change the world.

...Of course, if I did an RP like this everyone in the RP could be the "Destruct" if they so chose. There's also a group that opposes the group the main characters are in, so if anyone wants to be the "bad" guys (good intentions; bad actions), or one of the normal people who want to destroy the world, then that'd be totally cool.

Alright, thanks guys. That really helps a lot.

But another question regarding the actual rp set up: I post the summary/intro/plot of the rp...but can I ask people not to post, but can I double (and possibly more post) in order to put out information (like characters that are officially accepted and whatnot) or is that just flat out not allowed? This question goes in regards to the OCC/Signup/discussion thread as well, as I'd like to post really important info in the first page of the thread, that way it is easy to access/and see.

I'm used to the format where mostly everything is posted in the front of a thread, and rps are allowed the exception to the "no double posting rule" as long as they are using it to spread out information. So, I'm just wanting to clear this up, as this would be easiest for me.
You may ask people not to post, but double posting is not allowed unless two days have passed and you must be the Game Master of the thread. You can post all of the necessary information in the first thread anyway, that's what most people do. If you're worried on length and how long it's going to be, use spoiler tags to make it a little user friendly for those scrolling through the first page.

Yeah, I've seen roleplays on Gaia and such where they use the entire first page for information. In this case, at PC we only usually use the very first post.

OMG WILL I BE NINJA'D AGAIN?!

Alright, thanks guys. That helps and clears a lot of things up for me. So besides plot intro/summary, do I need anything on the actual rpg thread? Can rules just go in the information/occ thread or does it have to be in the actual rpg thread?

  • So... I just had the random idea of a horror themed pokemon roleplay, and I don't mean a zombie apocalypse. Am I crazy or what? Perhaps something focusing more on the paranormal. I haven't really put a whole lot of thought into it, but it interests me. What do you guys think?

Rules can basically go into any thread you like, whichever that you want to submit first. Appropriately it should be where roleplayers sign up so that they can of course view the rules. :)

:S Maybe? Who knows, there's all sorts of horror out there. ALL SORTS. Perhaps you could try some sort of psychological thriller. It could be interesting if you play your cards right.

39 Clues RP, anyone? I dunno, it just popped into my mind since I started reading book ten in the series today :S
I wouldn't make it though... nobody would join anyways if I did :|

  • Would you wanna do something like a suspense horror? Been playing 999 (9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors) and I think that would definitely fall under that category. I mean, I guess it's more suspense than horror, but there are still some grisly scenes.

And I guess no one has any thoughts on my idea of a "your job is to destroy the world or change it" RP? XD; /though it was one of the last posts on the previous page, so I'd understand how it'd be missed :B

  • Alright. Let me think of an example of the type of roleplay I'm thinking of.

Everyone remembers Old Chateau in the 4th gen pokemon games right? I was thinking perhaps taking a concept like that and applying some creativity to turn it into a roleplay of sorts. I would perhaps borrow ideas from some of the many "ghost" stories I've read as well as research I've done to create something akin to an interactive ghost story, only with the twist of pokemon. I wouldn't necessarily limit it to a haunted house, though I would limit it to a fairly specific area of sorts. Outside of a highly populated area the sky's really the limits. It has to be somewhere that isn't very populated generally, is the only real limitation I see. That's mainly because none of my inspiration would draw from sources where such stories would occur as hauntings in the middle of the city and whatnot. (...) Regardless, that's probably something best left to zombies.

    How's that for more specific?

999 FTW! I would totally want to be a part of a RP like that! And Sands of Destruction.... haven't played it, yet. I'll see :P

Hmmm... sounds interesting. If there's a much more specific plot, it'll probably help :D

Is there any RP's that you would recommend to join?

UNDERGROUND. Birth of Legends is open, too.

  • Yo, so would anyone be intrested in starting a RP with me? I think I might have an Idea, like Gijinka or smthn (There's already one I KNOW) or maybe mystery dungeon or a random crazy adventure into some unknown land.

Plot: (To be edited more later, not detailed) A pokemon and his friend go on an adventure and soon end up joining a rescue team? (Lol sounds like pokemon Blue Dungeon) That's it for now, I don't want to make a HUGE comment.

    (PM ME AS WELL?)

  • I'm not personally considering actually making such an RP right now, mostly because I've got so much on my hands already. I've got so much roleplaying on my plate that I no longer have time for gaming. xD Yet... Perhaps I would be willing to do it if I had a partner. It's something to think about. I was just wondering who would actually join. Regardless. I might decide to make it solo in the future, depending on how other RPs go.

    Thanks, again. x3

Another question: I sent in a rp thread, and I know I have to wait for it to be checked by a moderator, but I have a feeling it won't be a-o-kayed since I forgot to put an age rating on it, so do I just re-send it by making another thread entirely if the moderator doesn't accept it?

Just PM Skymin about forgetting the age rating and she can add it (well, if Skymin is awesome enough too). Just make sure to tell her what the rating is. xD

Well, I just finished Into the Gauntlet(Book 10; by Margaret Peterson Haddix) a few minutes ago... I just got it yesterday. I wasn't supposed to finish it so freaking quickly, lol X3
If I do make a 39 Clues RP (wouldn't be for a while; I'd also have to hunt down a co-GM) I would wait until I read Vespers Risng and... The Medusa Plan(?) so that I have a bit more to base the story off of.
That way RPers could be Cahills, Vespers, or maybe even a regular person that gets dragged into the fray :D

  • The thing with a 999 RPG is that you're going to need to find a reason and huge underlying plot to why a Nonary Game would be created in the first place. Now I don't know how far you are, but the Nonary Game in 999 was created with the specific intent of fulfilling something. You can't just throw a bunch of randoms into an area with a Nonary Game. It was incredibly well plotted, straight from who playing and where they were playing. Just something to keep in mind because if it's just nilly-willy then it really isn't a Nonary Game.

Huh... that would be a problem D: I haven't continued the series after Into the Gauntlet, but I plan to. Soon. :D

Hm, that's true. It would be incredibly difficult for somebody to make a 999 RP.
