RPGquest [PG-16]

Silver continued to pet Crystal, and sighed. A democracy?

"What's a democracy?"

He asked curiously, but seemed to understand that it meant there would be no leader. He silently nodded agreement. Equality is best. He sighed and stood up, deciding he should walk front because he knew where the castle was. They walked and walked down the path, Silver put Crystal down and she had no problem trotting beside him. He suddenly stopped and began to picks some leaves from the side of the path and stuck them in his pocket. He continued the path, up until an enraged bear jumped onto the path in front of them. Silver motioned not to attack and walked until he stood right in front of the bear, and he looked straight up at it, curiously. The bear snarled and raised it's massive paw to swing down at Silver. Completely calm, Silver made one swift movement, lightly jabbing the bear in various areas of stomach, chest, and head. It dropped, unconscious, and he rolled it off of the path where it lay sleeping off to the side. He smiled and continued down the path, Crystal following, and both seemed completely unphased about the bear trying to attack.

(A little humorous, yes? Also, almost all of our enemies will be animals and monsters. Monsters being creatures that aren't real, you know, like Maplestory Slimes and other random stuff like that...)

(yes very interesting. and to be honest I have never heard Dream On.)

Jeison looked at Travis and Lyra. "Were is Lucifer?" He said as he looked around for him. "Anyways we should either be a democracy or decide on a leader. You guys choose. I think a Democracy is better but I could care less which ever one you guys picked." Jeison said as he took something out and read it aloud. "Since theres a note from the king here and we can use the map on the back let me quote the exact words from this letter,
"your team will journey across the islands, gathering the eight shards, of the four towers. The first is on our island here, far off north from the kingdom."
Jeison quoted from the letter. He turned the note over and showed them a map. "Who's gonna navigate. To be honest don't archers get out often? You need to navigate so Travis I think you would do well for the job. The only reason why I like Groups to tell you honestly.....Because everyone have different talents....If you were alone and only had one talent....that wouldn't do you any good. You may not have survival talent but you may have something else. All I'm saying is don't judge a book by it's cover. Unless its that book over there called blargh by James Wright. Wait how did it get there? Anyways you shouldn't judge someone before you get to know them. And Travis I see has been Judging a lot of People by the way they might look before he could see them in action." Jeison said as he slumped against a tree waiting for Lucifer.

Travis looked at Jeison oddly.

"You know, I didn't say a single word to you other than my name. How do you know I've been judging people. I haven't said anything of the sort to you. Stop making silly assumptions."

Travis turned coldly away from him. He was an archer, and he did know how to navigate better than probably all of them. He was a great tracker as well, as his Sensei always told him. He wondered where the 4th member of their group is. He was unsure what was keeping him. Perhaps he made a wrong assumption of him the first time around, and he was probably the worst of the group? Travis stood there, silently.

Lyra nodded "I agree a democracy would be best. Democracy is the best way to ensure all four of us get a fair say in decisions" she said leaning against another tree near Jei. "I don't really have an pinion on groups. I know everyone has different talents that will help us in and out of battle" she said shyly before adding "I for instance...can cook but that's not just because I'm a girl so don't think that" she said voice even shyer sounding as her face flushed because of her shyness.

"A democracy is a form of organization where everyone decides on what needs to be done. It's a fairly equal system, I guess." Rei told Silver as she followed him down the path. She stooped down to pick up a leaf that had recently fallen from a tree. It was bright red, and caught the eye. Rei played around with it as the team followed Silver. Suddenly, they were stopped by him when a large bear lumbered onto their path. It looked quite enraged, and Rei got a bit worried when Silver gestured that they shouldn't attack it.

What is he planning? The mage stood back a bit, and watched as Silver calmly stood in front of the bear. It raised a paw, obviously going to strike the angel, when he suddenly jabbed the bear in certain areas. It toppled over, asleep, and Silver just pushed it over to the side of the road, as so not to block the path.

"Oh my... Who is he anyways...?" Rei quietly said to herself, as she glanced over at the sleeping bear. It was peaceful, and the mage decided not to bother it. She quickly started walking again, thoughts about her teammates whirling about her mind.

Miharu sighed. "Well, this seems to be a democracy now. Sorry Aqua-san, I do not think any of us are going to change our votes. By the way, Silver-san, a democracy is when everyone votes and the option that has the majority vote will be the one we choose to do." Miharu paused. "Although, I just realized that there are four people and if we are ever split in half...Well, rock, paper, scissor were created for a reason."

Miharu shook her head slightly, before pausing. "First off, we have to figure out how to get one from destination to the next. Since I know nothing about the area of this kingdom at all, perhaps someone who is good at navigating or knows this area pretty well should lead. Who is good at navigating or knows the area really well?"

Silver pulled out his copy of the king's not and flipped it over. Silver had a hand-drawn map of the islands, and was actually very accurate.

"I guess that'd be me... Okay... We need to trust each other... Everyone needs to know their teammates' strengths and weaknesses. That way we know how we fight."

Silver reached into two pockets, pulling out herbs in one, and berries in the other. He lifted the handful of herbs. They all looked the same, but he knew the difference.

"Firstly, I'll be the healer. I know herbs, my skill is natural healing."

This made sense, being raised in a forest. He put the herbs back, and showed the berries, urging them not to touch.

"As a fighting skill, I can deal many status conditions. Poison, paralysis, sleep, hallucination, stunning, burning, freezing, all of it."

He put the berries back in his pocket.

"My weaknesses... I'm overly lightweight... Although that is helpful sometimes... Um... Other than throwing knives, I have to fight close range, knives and all. And I'm reluctant to kill things. If there's a more peaceful option, I will always go for it. Oh, and my defense is not very high, but I always try to take the blows that are aimed at the ones I care about..."

He exhaled. That's the most he's ever talked. And he explained his weaknesses.

"Also, we should pool money and only spend on necessities. Supplies, food, and if we can spare it we can buy stronger weapons. I think there's a city with a shop on the way here. It's a mage town if I remember correctly, and our teammate Rei is from there. Right?"

He asked her, then reached in his pocket, holding out money.

"I have 10 gold coins... Who holds onto money?"

(A coin of gold would be about a dollar in our world)

Aqua pulled out 30 gold coins.

"I baby sitted our neighbor's kids alot for 2 coins a hour."Aqua said putting the coins back in her zip up pocket on her backpack."I can hold onto the money if you want me too.And I can shoot arrows as long as I'm at least 5 feet away from whatever I'm shooting at."

Silver handed her the money, she held the team's money now. He sighed.

"Give more detail... For us to work to our limits as a team we have to know each other better than we know ourselves. I want everyone here to do what I did. We need to know all of your skills and strengths, and all of your weaknesses. We have to take advantage of our abilities while protecting one another's vulnerabilities. Understand?"

Silver sighed a Crystal was mewling helplessly, having a little fit because she was getting no attention. Silver picked her up and began petting her soft spots, where she enjoyed it most. The purring began again. Silver held her and petted her, while facing his teammates, ready to know his allies better, as he had already given his information.

Aqua took the money and put it in the zipper part her coins were in.

"Fine. My advantages are I'm great at archery and I'm a fast runner. My weakness is that I am scared of very great darkness, and lightneen.I've always been scared lightneen is going to hit me."Aqua said.

She wasn't really compererable with telling them her weakenesses, because she didn't like any one knowing them.

Miharu paused slightly. Everyone had to explain their strengths and weaknesses. Miharu guessed that pooling in her money would be the fastest thing to do first. She handed 138 coins to Aqua-san.

"I have done some odd jobs around the village," stated Miharu. "Although I try not to take money, it ends up appearing on me anyways."

Miharu paused. "My strengths would be anything to do with fighting. Us warrior monks have trained to deal with any type of fighting style. Any fighting style one throws at me, I will know how to counter and defeat it. Even if one throws me against someone with magical abilities, I can always find my way around it. My weaknesses..." Miharu thought of the emotional turmoil that was probably happening deep down inside her soul and shrugged. "I cannot kill things as it is against the ways of my teaching. Other than that, I really do not know. People are always blind to their own weaknesses, they are always observant of someone else's. It is always the hardest to see within one's own heart."

Silver shrugged.

"So would it help to point out each other's weakness instead of your own?"

He shook his head.

"N-nevermind... Miharu-chan should not contain emotions, that only gives them more power to retalliate..."

Silver said to Miharu, but said no more to protect her privacy. He knew she understood what he meant, the others may not. That the longer you hold in emotions, they eventually break free and it's much worse if you've held it in...

"Nice."Aqua said putting the money in the zipper pocket of her bag."Talk about heavy."

Aqua blinked blankly between Miharu and Silver confused.

"Oookkkaaay."She said with a weirded out voice."What now?"

Silver pulled his wing forward, plucking away the molting feathers.

"Now, we wait for Rei to tell her strengths and weaknesses, and then we'll continue to her hometown, stop for supplies, rest up for the night at an Inn, and depart in the morning, north along the path, through the dense forest, the tower hidden by it. So first, Rei..."

Silver realized that he was staring at Aqua the whole time he spoke, so he quickly looked away, down at his cat, petting her. Crystal seemed confused by Silver, who acted strange around Aqua. Crystal stared at Aqua curiously, eyes slitted slightly, crystal blue, looking at Aqua, trying to figure it out. Her tail twitched irritantly as she figured it out. He liked her. Crystal began to throw a little fit. If Silver liked her, then he would pay more attention to her, leaving poor poor Crystal attentionless. Silver stared confusedly at jealous Crystal, who was beaming at Aqua. He scolded her quietly, and when she finally calmed down, he scratched her head between her ears and she gave up instantly.

"Mhmm... yeah. I guess I would have to say I'm good at hunting with a rifle, and cooking. That comes from several years of having to eat your own cooking, and hunting for the food yourself." Rei stopped for a moment to think. "Of course, I think I'm decent at manipulating ice and snow, because, well, I'm a mage who specializes in ice. As for weaknesses... I'm not as nimble as some of you, and I tend to hate warm weather... like now." She pulled at her parka, bothered by the heat at the moment.

"It just bothers me, and I've always lived in the colder north so... I think that's why I'm like that. And... I'm kind of scared of dying. Just... simply dying." Rei trailed off, lost a bit in thought. She quickly perked up a bit. "Shall we head out north now? Like what Silver said, we can stop by my hometown, and get supplies we might need. Except, in all my years of living up north, I've never heard of a tower of some sort, or even rumors about it. Eh. We'll figure it out, when we get there, right? And before I forget... here's my money."

Rei pulled out a pouch, filled with gold coins. It was emblazoned with an insignia of a snowflake. "This is about... 150 coins, I think. It's most of what I make from hunting last season..." She handed it to Aqua.

Aqua took the pouch and put it in her zip up compartment.

"You know you guys make me feel lazy and poor as crap."She said with a very small hint of laughter in her voice."We should focus on things like food and such, and then get other things we need. The whole quest will be worthless if we die from dehydration or starvation."

Silver nodded to Rei.

"So now we know, let's depart now. I want to get there early, in case there's something fun to do... Oh, and you can actually find gold on monsters, oddly enough. That and we can sell things we find. We ready?"

Silver stood up, still holding Crystal. He glanced at his teammates to see if they were prepared to continue. Firt to Rei, then Miharu, Then Aqua.....

Silver found himself locked in her eyes again, for who knows how long, and he jerked his head away shyly.

When Jie asked where Lucifer was, Lucifer smiled. He was looking at them from above, sitting on a tall tree. One of the guys that attacked them was trying to attack again, but Lucifer threw his dagger at him and it pierced through his armor and his heart with ease.

He didn't know if other people didn't want to kill, but he was rather used to it. He jumped off the tree and grabbed the bloddy dagger from the dead man's body. The blood started to slip off the knife like water, as if the knife was magic, and he shifted the dagger into the scabbard again.

"If we have to pick a leader, I'll go for Jie, he knows what he's doing."

Lyra shivered seeing the blood and the killing. That was the one thing she didn't like. Killing. She didn't like it, didn't want to do it, and didn't want to see it done. "W..Why did you kill him?" she asked Lucifer timidly almost afraid to hear the answer. She sighed unable to tear her eyes away from the body and the blood dripping off his knife. So far she had seen that only she and Jei hadn't killed anyone since she saw Travis kill the other two men. "If we choose a leader Jei would be the best choice but I still think democracy is still the best choice."

Lucifer saw Lyra shivering, and it was rather normal since only assassins and warriors could bear the blood and cruelty. But he had to do it since he was about to attack.

"Lyra, he was creeping behind you and he was going to kill you if I didn't kill him in time." Lucifer spoke coldly, "It's survival of the fittest, you know."

Lucifer's blades were back in their scabbards, and he pulled the body away, dumping the body into a pool of mud nearby, watching the body sink. He looked at the other team-mates with sad eyes, apologizing for the kill, since they didn't really like it, but Lucifer was right about the survival of the fittest...it's killing, or be killed in this world.
