Runescape is a MMORPG (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game) in which you fight a wide variety of monsters using swordplay, archery, and, as it is with all rpg's, magic. Instead of merely growing levels to auto matically raise your stats, you can raise individual stats such as attack, defense, magic, etc. But not all stats are used for combat. Some examples are woodcutting, firemaking, mining, smithing, crafting, cooking, and fishing. When you catch a fish, you must cook over a fire made by you, or someone else (not a range). This is cooking. Once you have finished this, you can eat whatever you didn't burn. You can also cook pies, pizza, wine, etc. However, for most recipes, you need an open fire made manually. And in order to make that fire, you need wood, and this leads to woodcutting. In woodcutting, you obviously have to cut down trees for firewood. In order to do this, you need a woodcutting axe, and you must be a high enough level to cut the particular tree. The higher your woodcutting level, the higher level trees you can cut down. And if you cut down high level trees, you will get more woodcutting experience for cutting them, and more firemaking experience for burning them. Much like woodcutting, you must be a certain level or higher to burn the logs. These skills are important, because they are mandatory for most cooking. When searchng for equipment, you have 4 options: buy from a store, buy from a player, find from an enemy, or make on your own. If you are able to, making your own equipment is definetely the best descision. So one must mine the proper matal ores, smelt them into bars, and smith the bars into equipment. There are thirteen ores and unrefined gems that you can mine: (I hope I remember them all) copper ore, tin ore, iron ore, silver ore coal ore, mithril ore, gold ore, adamantitum ore, runite ore, uncut emerald, uncut sapphire, uncut ruby, and uncut diamond. The ores (except gold and silver) can be refined and smithed through the art of smithing. When you have the ore, you must smelt (or refine) the ore before you can make armor. Your smithing level must be high enough to smelt some ores and make some armor. you may then sell the armor you don't need, and get a very large amount of money, depending on the level of smithing required to make the particular piece of equipment, and the amount of bars used. As for the uncuts, gold ore, and silver ore, you must use your crafting ability to cut the uncuts, and to make rings and necklaces out of the cut gems, gold ore, and silver ore.
Er, that was kind of a book, but I wanted to give lots of information. Click here to start playing, and I will answer any questions.
