Running traditional RPGMaker combat parallel with Essentials?

A question from a very new user, would it be possible to access and use the original RPG Maker battle system while using Essentials?

For instance, would it be possible to give the player access to the basic combat system (All player and monster info handled by the database), while also being able to use Essentials? Anything involving pokemon would be handled by Essentials, and anything else handled by the database. This would involve two separate parties, Pokemon and Typical RPGMaker party

I gave it a shot, creating a player class and a single monster, but it crashes every time I try to use "test battle"

    Any info is appreciated, thanks!

The whole system has been rewritten so the answer would be no you can't make it work.

He could make it work, but only by re-adding the original scripts alongside the Essentials ones, and doing some jigging around to make sure they can be/are used and don't clash.
