Hello and good morning!

It's good to meet all of you. I go by Tabitha/Tabi (or Absol!), I'm 25 years old, and any pronouns are okay with me. I'm a lifelong Pokemon fan with a particular passion for the second, third, and fourth generations. I'm also a huge rocketshipper! I've always known about this place and used it for mostly romhack purposes, but I never really had an account, so I'll try my best to stick with this one! I had been using Fortree Forums for a while, but sadly, it's pretty much dead.

Other than Pokemon, I'm an avid DND player! I run three weekly campaigns and am a player in a fourth. I'm very passionate about worldbuilding, you can find my own worldbuilding lore here! I'm also pretty fanatical about Skyrim, Sonic, and Paradox games. Aside from gaming, I like the usual suspects like anime and art, but also Critical Role, movies, heavy metal, writing, reading, worldbuilding, history, religion, and sociology.

Sadly, I can't add much color and excitement to this post, as the signature wouldn't let me put any gifs or anything yet. But hopefully, I can make some friends here!

Oh okay. As I mentioned in my post, though, when I tried adding links or media to my signature, it kept rejecting it. I've contacted admins about it though to see if it can be fixed.

Anyways, that's a good question - I think I'd have to say Heart Gold & Soul Silver! I think Black and White 2 are pretty peak in terms of quality and I return to third generation games more frequently, but I really think HG/SS are my ultimate comfort games. The music, the Pokemon following you, the cities, just the vibes, it's all very comfy and nostalgic. ♥

Okay, I have learned this is a super controversial take but my favorite starters are Chikorita, Bayleef, and Meganium! I think they're so cute and I really love a starter that has a more cute energy rather than a cool one, which was pretty unusual back then. Also, I think watching Lueroi, my favorite Let's Player when I was a child, effectively use one in his HG/SS playthrough showed me that Meganium could actually be a really good Pokemon.

Some other starters I really like would be Sceptile, Swampert, and Torterra! ♥

Ah, as for my favorites, I'd say Absol, along with Houndoom, Mightyena, Ninetales, Arcanine, Lapras, Furret, Misdreavus, Pidgeot, Clefable, Alakazam, Dewgong, Vaporeon, Flareon, Mewtwo, Meganium, Xatu, Espeon, Umbreon, Altaria, Porygon-Z, Lucario, Reuniclus, Vanilluxe, Galvantula, Hatterene... or at least that's what my profile tells me! I'm really bad at picking a favorite without listing all honorable mentions, hehe.

Is yours also Absol, maybe? o:

As a matter of fact, it is. :p
Absol's been my favorite since I managed to beat a Pokemon X Nuzlocke with one as my star Pokemon. It gave me my appreciation for Dark types due to that as well.
How about you? Favorite typings? Mine are Dark, then Ice, Steel, and Electric.

The Meganium line is great imo, I've never understood the complaints about it... I've used it on playthroughs multiple times without any problems... also happens to be tied for my favorite grass starter along with the cat magician
Absol & Umbreon are great too... I keep going back and forth on which of the two is my fav Dark type, but it's more or less a tie =P

Have you ever tried any type based playthroughs? Or perhaps themed teams like say an all cat mon or all dog mon team ?
Doesn't need to be an actual challenge run with additional rules beyond that or anything. I've personally been using my type based playthroughs more as a theme than a challenge thing.

Also since you mentioned Skyrim.... did you join the Stormcloaks or the Imperials?

Nice to meet you! I do really like Umbreon as well, it just reminds me of the nostalgia of Gen 2, granted I was barely even alive for it.

Ooh, I don't do challenges much, to be honest, mostly because it feels like since the game itself can't account for it, it feels... not real. I don't know if that makes any sense. But it could be fun to try one, like an all mammal team or an all feline team.

I've touched other games in TES but never stuck with them. Started with Skyrim so I found it hard to get used to the old games' feel. As for my faction... okay hear me out. There's something about the Stormcloaks. They just have more charisma than the Imperials! Tbf, both are essentially Thalmor puppets so either way, the Thalmor still have the upper hand. As for race, I like all of them, but Orcs are my favorite! I love the TES takes on Orcs as being not inherently evil at all, but facing prejudice due to their appearance, stereotypes, and lifestyle.

Those are pretty good choices! I'd say my favorite is Dark, followed (in no particular order) by Psychic, Fairy, Ice, Water, and Flying! Must be something about wistful and wispy aesthetics, hehe.

Sceptile and Torterra are cool indeed! I love Swampert. With this Pokémon alone, I went all the way through Ruby, League included! From a high enough level, it just KOed every opponent in one move, one after another! ^^
But my favourite will always be Charizard!

True, Swampert is such a great Pokemon; good stats, typing, move pool, and everything works for it in RSE. :D
