So, I'm new to this RP business, but I had a multitude of ideas, and this struck me as a balance between my pseudo-fantasy RP idea (which less people will notice) and my Pokemon RP idea (which more people will notice). Therefore, I present to you….

    Sanglion: The Darkrai Chronicles

    PLOT
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Five million years ago, when the world of Sanglion was still in chaos, only Dialga and Palkia existed. In that time there were no dimensions save Sanglion and its Reverse self, Noilgnas. A spark of thought came to Dialga to create the essence of time, to track their accomplishments. And another such spark came to Palkia, to create the essence of space, to accompany Dialga's time so that they could act in perfect harmony and balance. So 't was done. Dialga roared, and the stream of time came forth to create the dimension of time. Palkia shaped, and the three axes of space came forth to create the dimensions of space. And all was peaceful.

In time, the first organisms came to be. Dialga and Palkia, discovering this, sped up their evolution into sentient beings and made spaces where they could live in harmony with nature. And all was peaceful.

And then, one fateful day five thousand years ago, the humans came to be.

The power of their dreams opened up mysterious pathways in the fabric of spacetime that Dialga and Palkia had created. And from the dreams was created Darkrai.

The peace was broken into pieces as Darkrai ran rampant in Sanglion and destroyed the realm. Dialga and Palkia quickly decided on a course of action, but Darkrai was ruthlessly strong. Darkrai utterly destroyed Dialga and Palkia, and the battle seemed to be a losing one for the two dragons.

But then another came. Then there were three draconic creatures, and the destruction of Darkrai was swift. Giratina appeared out of the portal to the Distortion World, and Dialga and Palkia's strengths were renewed. They swiftly dispatched Darkrai, focusing all their power into a stone tablet to seal Darkrai into. This was broken into two pieces, each concealed at opposite ends of the continent. And the humans, ever ingenious in their nature, crafted these tablets into statues of their heroes, Dialga and Palkia. Giratina was unknown to them still, fading back into the Distortion World. And peace returned to the land.

Dialga and Palkia were tired. They sought new protectors for the land; Dialga chose to impart the knowledge of manipulation of raw power to his followers, and Palkia the knowledge of healing and strengthening. After imparting their knowledge, Dialga and Palkia too were sealed away, set to sleep for five thousand years. The humans acted as guardians in their stead of Darkrai's pieces, and Dialga and Palkia taught them the way to capture their lesser brethren to become Familiars for the humans, to become their friends and helpers. The followers of Dialga became known as wizards, mages, and generally users of arcane magic; the followers of Palkia became known as clerics, healers, and users of divine magic.

    There was peace.

Recently, however, the bindings have begun to weaken. A society named the Magehaunt, possessing very little membership and infamy in the past, has started to collect lives from people and the Familiars alike. Hungry for the revival of Darkrai and its near-unlimited power, they work to collect enough energy to awaken Darkrai and conquer the world.

Your task is to stop them. You are the elite, selected from among the winners of the combat tournament held days earlier. You have been chosen by the last of the legendary dragons.

    Giratina.

Your quest is to free Dialga and Palkia, and to face off with Giratina in tow the malevolent spirit named Darkrai. This much will be revealed. An epic journey awaits you, fraught with perils and traps, dangers and highwaymen. Beware, but be not afraid. For the power of the silver one is with you.

    Background Info on the Region
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Mechanics of the Region
Sanglion is quite different from other regions introduced in the Pokemon world and games; it has a four-Pokemon rule, not a six-Pokemon rule. Also, Pokemon are never called Pokemon; from now on, they will be called Familiars in-character. Sanglion, is, as you've seen, a high-magic world. It has clerics and wizards. The warriors and thieves, either too poor to afford an education at Orisonville or Cantripham, where the best magic schools are, are complete idiots, or are simply too busy to be admitted to a proper school for magic, nonetheless have some small ability to, say, create a tiny spark or reinforce their weapon for one slightly harder strike. The system of magic is strictly based on education, but has some merit in talent. To put it simply, people that study magic with only an average intelligence are always going to know a lot more magic than people who are very talented and do not. The region of Sanglion is very unsophisticated technologically; it uses magic for many of its communication devices, firearms (wands charged with magical energy, usable by any one that knows how to aim), and it uses a small, circular slab of stone marked with runes as a substitute for a Pokeball; Familiars are stored inside the runic markings of the slab of stone, and the markings change to include a brief symbol of the Familiar that belongs in it after a newly captured Familiar is verified to be 100% captured. Sanglis (residents of Sanglion) use their Familiars as helpers, tools, etc. just like in the real Pokemon universe, but magic-users also use them as channels for their magic; Familiars amplify the magic-user's power if used correctly. For example, a fire-type Familiar will help the caster amplify the size of his fireball, or the area of his flash fire if he decides to create one, whereas when a Water-type familiar is used to amplify a fire spell it will decrease the power of the spell. In other words, treat spell effects as Pokemon attacks, and Familiars grant their owners a same-type spell bonus when they are in combat.

This Looks interesting, but I wanna make sure it isn't dead before I type out my response.
I'll subscribe to this thread so I'll know if you reply.

It's not dead... *sighs* just that not enough people are applying for this for me to get it started. No one likes a non-kid-oriented RP with Pokemon, for some reason.

    Also, hooray!

Hmm. I'll join, but I just need to ask a question. I might not have read carefully, but I need something clarified... if you're not a magician, do your Pokémon battle others?

    Uh, both, actually.

I should set up a new part called... FAQ!

Basically, mages blast their opponents with magic, but non-mages attack stuff with their weapons. Pokemon don't get hurt too badly (as you saw in the Anime), but humans can get killed like this (as you also saw in the Anime). When Pokemon get incapacitated they are sealed back into their keystones and they have to be recharged at a source of magical power, usually a mage if available. So, in essence, hire mages to heal your Pokemon. I mean, uh, Familiars. And also, remember that commoners know a little bit of innate magic, and familiars help

I am sorta confused about the appearance section. You mention auras, do you mean literally "Auras" or do you mean how the person presents himself(e. g. posture, facial expressions, etc.)

Also, do we just say the type of the Pokemon and you choose for us, or do we get to choose?

One last question: Could you please put age as one of the things needed for an SU?

Ah, good point. I need to sharpen up.

But, yes... auras as in how one presents him/herself. But remember, with magic real auras are possible too.

o: This looks pretty epic, if I may say so myself. Consider me interested; I'll start working on a SU tonight. :3

    OMG!!

Can I just say, this is freaking the best idea I have seen in a Pokémon role play for a long time! I am impressed! Please allow me to respond my dear fellow! But! You know all this magic thing, can I have the power of Aura or is it just plain magic? I don't really mind anyway, but I was just asking because I'm having an Lucario in my team.

    But for now!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Sign-Up Sheet:
Name: Sapphire Serennity Skye! (Or Woman Of The Tripple S)

Gender: Female (At least she was the last time she checked...)

Age: 16 (A young one for this but oh well)

Occupation: She studies how Familiars connect with Magic. (So basically she's a magic-geek)

Personality: Sapphire can be quite naivé, but she's always friendly to everyone. She tries to smile all the time, and also tries her hardest to keep everything in order. She's not good with working with other people's ideas and likes to take command herself, but will back down when she realizes she's wrong. If anything happens to her or her Familiars, then she will get furious, and this (if you allow her to use Aura) will cause her powers to go out of conrtol as she's still learning about all the sorts of magic. When this happens she runs rampant and doesn't care who she attacks or if she kills anyone. So she's nice and friendly until you **** around with her and her friends and Fmailiars.

Appearance: She wears a white hat on her head, and out from under it falls bundles of wavey silk locks of golden brown hair. Her eyes are sapphire-blue and that's where her name comes from. There's a rumour that her eyes are the reason behind her power, because they are such an unusal colour for blue eyes to be, that it's almost like her eyes is just holding back all her aura. Her aura is a pale blue, and anyone with even slight magical abilites can sense it easily since she doesn't know how to control her magical features completely yet. She wears a white dress that is sleeveless and comes above her knees. Because of this she is often named a '****' but it's what she most feels comfortable fighting in. The dress is decorated with a royal blue flame pattern at the bottom of her dress. It's a tight fit as well, but she can move very easily in it. As for shoes, she simply wears white flip flops that she can slip out of with ease in the midst of fighting.

    Hometown: Arcur

History: She lived a very normal life. Her parents were both followers of Dalkia, and so is she. Her father is a warrior and her Mother is a high performing white witch. Sapphire was always brought up to use her magical ability, but she found a much more interest in science. She rebelled against her parents wishes, like most teenagers do. This is when her and her family realized she lacked control of her magical abilities. To calm her down, a mysterious man who didn't show his face or give her his proper voice, suggested that she go into study of how magic works along side Familiars. This interested her, and the more she studied, the more conrtol she gained over her abilities. She can now control them enough to go into battle with out a worry at all. She has tried to stop herself getting close to anyone, after all, if something happened to a close one, then she would instantly lose control.

Miscellany: She wears her Vaporeon's Rune-Stone (What are they acctually called?) around her neck. It is tied up with simple string.

    Pokemon:
Name: No nick name, just Vaporeon.
    Gender: Male
Personality: Very loyal and happy. Willing to serve his mistress in anyway he can and is rather protecting to all humans.
    Type: Water!

    Name: Rilou
    Gender: Male
Personality: Disobediant and a little rebel. (He's easily put in line by Vaporeon though)
Type: Fighting? (although if Aura is an option than you know...)

NOTE! I don't know if you're allowed to start off with two Pokémon, but either way Rilou is not ready for battle yet. He still needs to grow up!

OK, is that alright or should I change it?

Done with my SU! Here it is:

    Name: Therin Thaesson

    Age: 26

Gender: Guess by the name, if you can't, he's a he.

    Occupation: Cleric

Personality: Therin is the typical cleric, using white magic for many things. He likes to have fun, but never pushes rules and limits. He takes care in using magic though, and knows the danger of using too much at one time. He knows how to do many things, but it's often actually doing them that is troublesome for him. Overall, he is good-natured and loves to learn knew things. Despite this, he can be ignorant at times, not seeing situations as they actually are.

Appearance: Therin is somewhat stocky, and he is a little taller than average. His hair is a brown, almost blonde color, and he keeps it to about the middle of his neck. He has forest green eyes, but the other parts of his face are unremarkable. He wears a greenish-white robe with with leather chest and shoulder guards. He tends to keep a straight posture, though he it is never perfect, and he can often be found with a wry smile on his face.

Hometown: He is originally from Denke, though he moved to Orisonville to learn how to use divine magic.

History: As a child, Therin liked to go out and explore the coastline and the town. His parents always told him to be careful, but he never really took it seriously. Despite this, he was very smart, and excelled in most academic things that he did, so his father, Thaes told him to go to Orisonville. While there, he made second honors, and is now used by the teachers as a prime example of how sstudents should be. He now travels around the Sanglion Region, telling people about how the region varies from place to place.

    Pokemon

    (1)
    Name: Knifel(Gallade)

Gender: It's a Gallade, so what do you think?

Personality: Knifel is a gentle, caring Familiar, and he hates to hurt others. When he needs to
though, he is a harsh fighter when he needs to be, and never gives up. When not in battle, Knifel is quick to react to pain and suffering, and has passed this ability to his master. He likes to relax , and this sometimes causes problems, as he can be asleep in times of need.

Ability: Steadfast(Wow, that fits his personality, I did NOT do that on purpose)

    Type: Fighting and Psychic

    (2)

    Name: Bieta(Bibarel)

    Gender: Female

Personality: Bieta is energetic and playful, she will often play pranks on others just for the fun of it. She likes to have a good time, but knows when to be serious.

    Ability: Simple

Oh! I decided to add ability.

Uh, okay! Great! Thanks for the interest and commentary, guys... I'm crying with joy. ^_^

To your question, UraharaSteph, they are called runestones. You may choose to capitalize them, put a hyphen, or whatever, but they are Runestones. Rune-Stones. It doesn't matter TOO much as long as players are consistent with what they call them in their individual posts (consistency is unnecessary between players unless they're actually talking about it in character).

    As for the SUs... wunderbar!

UraharaSteph, your background could have used a little more polishing and your personality is more of a cheerleader-y person. I'll give an ACCEPTED, though. Just remember to develop your character and act with some depth. ;)

Missingno.7-4468, mostly same advice; I'll give an ACCEPTED. No one cares too much about how your character is described if you write decent posts corresponding to your SU anyway. =)

    Name: Alexander Marshall Locke

    Gender: Male

    Age: 18

    Occupation: Student of Magic

Personality: Alexander is an intelligent young man, and will always quite happily help others although his manner when dealing with such things may come off a tad patronising. He is a basically good person, and always has the best intentions although sometimes these don't come across and he offends others with what he does or says, others think this may be because he is too intelligent, or thinks he is. He picks things up quickly but can get flustered and confused if he has too many things going on for or around him, this is usually when he gets most irritable. Other than these times though Alexander tends to be a calm and laid back person, dealing with problems logically and thoroughly.

Choosing to study magic for Alexander was a hidden awe at the awesome power it entailed, it sent the adrenaline pumping through his body to say, see water dancing around his finger tips or to create a circular burn in the grass at his feet and then have at regrow at his command. He has a small lust for glory, to do something astounding and to be loved and remembered by all for doing it.

Once bonded with someone Alexander, tends to be a very loyal and trustworthy companion but is more likely to follow along behind his friends than actually lead them, even if in his ambitions he dreams of being far greater.

Appearance: Alexander is tall and thin, too thin really, he doesn't tend to eat a lot and has quite a fast metabolism. He has very little muscle strength, and you would definitely not call his build athletic it's more scrawny and weedy.

He has short brown hair that's often messy and encrusted with dandruff. His eyes are grey- blue shade and have tiny flecks of yellow around the pupils, they're outlined with black wire-framed glasses that constantly slip down his nose, forcing him to look over the top of them at people. A few acne spots dot his forehead beneath his hair. His slightly dirty appearance sometimes tends to give people a bad first impression of him.

He usually chooses to wear loose fitting robes typical of your average mage with leather satchel hanging of one shoulder with which to carry his belongings.

Being by no means an imposing figure is the way Alexander likes to be, when they get know him he likes to think he has challenged and expanded their perceptions.

    Hometown: Destalgea (Born in Myrenur)

History: Having parents that were successful merchants in Myrenur meant Alexander had a good start in life. They had enough money to send him to study magic in Destalgea along with buying him his first familiar at the age of 16.

However Alexander has never had a strong relationship with his parents, often being left in the care of his uncle Theodore when they left to go on trading expeditions. It was Theodore who really ignited his passion for magic, Theodore himself having always wanted to gain prowess in the arcane but never quite having that intellectual spark.

Throughout his magical training Alexander has only had a small group of people who he considered his close friends and he is very attached ot his familiar.

Miscellany: Hates people shortening his name. Especially to Alex.

    Pokemon: Grovlye

    Name: Blayde

    Gender: Male

Personality: Hyper. Always jumping around and eager to battle and play, despite this he is obediant towards Alexander because they are very attached to one another and have been together along time allowing their bond to develop.

    Type: Grass

@Cirrus: It's hard for me to make a Cleric, as I'm used to having a character using arcane magic in my imagination and stuff, so that was really my first try at making a Cleric. I even almost made him an elf, but I resisted the urge. Besides, if you also meant that my character is also Cheer-leader-y, that's kinda how Clerics are, they don't fight much, they mostly suppport others.

    Sign-Up Sheet:

    Name:
Owain (Although he prefers to be known as Salamar the Hunter)

    Gender:
    Male

    Age:
    15

    Occupation:
    Wild hunter

    Personality:
He shies away from people, and is incredibly hard to get to know. He acts strangely in any situation with anything over 5-10 people. In towns, which he occasionally goes into, he tries to be in and out as fast as possible. In a combat situation, he'll usually use a bow type weapon, until the come within a distance which makes it unreasonable to keep shooting, at which point he'll whip out his short sword with practiced ease, and attack with an unpredictable technique.

Appearance: Owain is a fairly thin but athletic build, and can surprise people with his strength when pressed. He has very scruffy hair, that looks like it hasn't been brushed for years... His eyes have a very wild look about them, and are a dark brown, so dark people often mistake it to be a black colour. His face has multiple scars, one particularly close to his left eye. He used to wear some old rags, but recently he made a sort of hide armor type thing, which he wears up til today...

Hometown: Somewhere near Selvras and Myrenur, as these are the two towns he visits most often for supplies and to sell his catch.

History: He was born close to Parancia, but left when he was about eight. He grew up teaching himself things in the wild, where he met his Machop and (I'd so love to say Groudon or Heatran) Sableye. He wondered around with them, not having runestones or anything he just kept them walking with him. Eventually he met a fisherman and the kind old guy taught him how to fish, with and without any tools. The Old guy took him down to town one time to show him, and teach him about towns. The old fisherman ended up giving owain two runestones, as he was teaching Owain about the town.
After a few years, unfortunately, as old people often do, the old codger died. Owain swore to remember him. He kept going back to the towns - just for short visits of course, to sell the catches he had made that month.
When he was told of this tournament, he decided he had to go, partly to make his old mentor proud...
Miscellany: Owain usually has his two familiars out side of their runestones, mostly because he doesn't particularly trust "Tek-no-log-y" He is also exceedingly good at ranged combat.

(If we have to have the magic abilities, he'd use it to make his archery better, and using crystal to turn into a ghost form type thing temporarily.)

    Pokemon:

Name: Majo (Named by the old guy not Owain)
    Gender: Male
Personality: Majo is very resilient, and strong. He doesn't really trust the sableye, mostly because he can't tell which way it is staring, despite this they can work incredibly well together.
    Type: Fighting

    Name: Crystal
    Gender: Female
Personality: Crystal is kind of weak, but uses her type to her and the others advantage. She can often startle people just by giving them a quick glance (she uses this fairly often on Majo)
    Type: Dark/Ghost

    Damn connection...

I was wondering, since I can sprite fairly well, would people be interested in this eventually being made into a comic?
    its only a suggestion though.

Salamar, please extend your appearance to clothes too... does this guy go naked? =) And remember, this guy has to be really good at whatever he does for the tournament. So you already have a certain level of skill to draw on. I'm not sure what I see here, but for now, (I'm sorry, Salamar) it's a PENDING. You'll be ACCEPTED after you fix.

Nope, Missingno, your character was fine. I meant that the Triple S person was slightly cheerleader-y. I guess I'm just pickier with descriptions... =(

Well i am more than happy to redo Sapphire if you like? I also don't know what you mean by 'cheerleader-y'? Basically Sapphire tries to take command because she doesn't like being restricted by other people's ideas, but if her own idea is plainly wrong then she will step down and admit it. She's naive (Because that's an flaw from my own personality) and tries to be friendly, but at the same time she doesn't really want to get to be good friends with anyone.

I guess that's the girl she is. I know she has a short temper, and thats her major flaw, since the more angry and emotional she gets, the more her power escapes her control.

Admittdly yes, the history did suck an awful lot. I can re-do that if you like? I was trying to think about the setting and everything, and trying to fit it to a teenager in that time who was too advancded to even handle her own powers. I guess she's kind of a prodigy with still a lot to learn.

(My appologies for where I am lacking)

Ah, I should say, umm... mostly the history part, yes. I just thought that... never mind.

So, if you can, please broaden up the history!

    Name:Alexander James

    Gender: Boy

    Age:14

    Occupation:Pokemon Breeder and Pokemon Trainer

    Location:Cantripham

    Appearance:
Alexander always wears his brown jacket. You would never see him without his trusting pokemon Mothim. Mothim always flys in circles keeping close to Alexander. Alexander has brown hair which is very untidy and he hardly ever brushes it just because he doesn't care a lot about it. he has lots of freckles which are placed on his arms, legs and he has loads on his face. Also he has big blue eyes which are as blue as the sea. He is very proud of them and says manaphy gifted him with them. His most prized posession is his bright shining chain with a blue pokeball on it.

    Personality:

Alexander(Alex for short) is a very quiet type who stays out the group and does everything his self.Sometimes that works but sometimes it doesn't. When he is among his friends he is happy and funny but when he meets strangers he will stay quiet until he see's what there like.
Usually he walk down the town for some time alone and to let go. At night he would sit and read alone and draw. He loves drawing and reading. Every now and again he will go down to the local pokemon centre and help out with nurse joy. If he makes a friend however he will try and keep it and not ruin it over something. He is quick tempered and will do anything to you. He is quite strong but doesn't have many muscles. However the ones he does have are well toned.
He enjoys going down to the beach and relaxing. If he has time he will go a run round the town

    Type:bug/flying

history:he started as a burmy and like Alex he was too an outsider but was found weakened by a ryhdon and Alex cared and trained him. He was very nervous at first to be in a large house with humans but was happy when they fed him. He once was flying and banged into a tall oak tree.

    RP sample

"Mothim want to give it a try battling this guy" Alex whispered encourigingly. As Mothim gave a confident look he placed his self on battlefield. "Come on out,Rydon!" the tall bulky guy called as he threw the pokeball in the air.

"I know you can do it Mothim " Alex thought.

    Suddenly the battle comenced.

"Mothim put everything you got into a psyhic!" Alex called. Mothim soared through the air and dropped down to surprise Rhydon. Out of no where it hit rhydon and he was hit hard.

"Come on Rhydon body slam!" the guy called out! Mothim tryed to avoid it but even though rhydon was slow he sure was strong and hammered Mothim into the air.

"Use your air slash by taking the impact from that attack" Alex shouted hopefully. As mothim swooped down again he almost hit the floor he was going so fast but managed to avoid.

Suddenly mothim gained some sort of confidence and picked up speed. As he braced his self for the impact the rhydon started charging towards mothim!

"No! Rhydon don't do that!" the man shouted. Ryhdon didn't listen and continued going towards mothim.

"Mothim evasive manuvers" Alex called nervously. Mothim didn't listen either and actually used more velocity than before.

As they were about to hit everyone closed their eyes in horrer wandering what the outcome would be.......

SMACK! The impact made a huge bang and a sandstorm brewed. As Alex and the man stood wandering who would come out the sandstorm.

Once the sandstorm stopped to everyones relief Ryhdon and Mothim were standing looking at eachother even though they were extremly low in HP. Slowly they both fell and it was all over.

Alex and the man ran to their pokemon and talked to them. They shook hands and took their pokemon to the pokeomon

sorry its not much but how did I do
