Merry Christmas, my delightful lil' alligators! Welcome to the ever-loving 25 Days of PokeCommunity, Secret Santa Event of 2015! "BUT SHAWN! WHAT IS SECRET SANTA?!" you may ask? Well, first of all, to say that you're interested in this event, post here saying you're joining in!

You'll receive someone to make a present for, then around Christmas you give it to them! Furthermore, the present can be anything! Poems, drawings, gfx art, or whatever you'll create for them! This all has to come from the heart, so, I implore you to do your very best on making a gift on what you'll think will make the person happy. <3

Most importantly, you can't tell them that you're their Secret Santa until you do the present though! After all, you'll be a secret santa! <3

Soooo, you'll be able to sign up at anytime between December 6th and December 12th, but on December 13th, you'll start receiving a fellow PC Supporter for you to make a gift for! The time for everyone to open their presents is, of course, Christmas Day (December 25th)!

Hi!

What did you have in mind? 8)

Heya!

Just the basics - people sign up, and then I assign them members PM, in which they're allowed to make or do anything for them; like last time I gave Jo a bunch of shiny pokemon, or they could make something art-related.. anything they can think of!

The timeline for this is December 6th to Christmas Day, or so it's scheduled anyhow! I think the real challenge will be keep track of all the members hehe... but otherwise I think it'll be pretty straight forward!

If you have any ideas feel free to share~ o:

How do you manage to coordinate the addresses and sending and whatnot? Maybe we should facilitate it somehow on the staff side, to ensure privacy and get more people to participate.

It'd be kinda awkward asking for addresses out of the blue. x:

Really? I think I'd trust the site more than a random person if I were a member. o.0

redditgifts does it pretty successfully.

It's just, to me it seems a bit.. 'off' giving physical gifts if it requires people to get another's address. If there's a way around this, then I'd welcome it I suppose?

I'd be very hesitant about opening this up to physical gifts. Reddit is a little different (the userbase is a bit more grown-up in general than PC). Plus if physical gifts are limited to 16+ and only those comfortable giving addresses out, and even then only if they can afford to do so or are even able to ship it to the correct country (PC has active users all over the world - imagine having to ship from France to Australia), but digital is open to all ages and countries... it could get very confusing as to who can do what and send to who. And that might scare people off.

If it were me, I'd stick to Internet-only. Keeping it simple. :)

Is this an exchange gift thread? :o If so, I'm with you.

But if Shawn is distributing gifts under the name of Official PokeCommunity as a one-way gift, then there's no problemo with it. :D

You could give people like digital gift cards for stores that work all over the world, if that works I guess or match people up by how close they are in relation to each other on the map.

I had a thought.

When members sign up, could you encourage them to write a "List for Santa"? :D Might be a cute way of getting ideas for people if you don't know them particularly well and could be quite funny I spose.
