Okay but like what kind of drummers are we talking about here??? I've seen plenty of drummers go ham and not hit themselves ahaha. But I've mostly seen jazz and marching performances so idk I assume you're talking about like rock drummers???

in seriousness I've hit my legs on accident while drumming on rare occasions and it hurts like crazy for like 10 seconds. I can't say I've ever hit my head, you're usually just not that high and if you are it's easier to control upward motion than side to sides sometimes. idk if that makes sense. the biggest health concern is gonna be on the hands usually, blisters have burst on my fingers while I'm playing and then blood gets everywhere. (this is also rare)

Unless there's a piece of the drum kit explicitly in front or over the drummer's head, there's barely any reason for a drummer to hit their own heads... unless they try throwing the drumstick in the air and fail to catch it.
