My Favorite Type!

I bet the second generation has the best Dark type Pokémon! One of them is Umbreon. The coolest one.

Darkrai is my favorite Dark type Pokemon as well, actually almost all dark type Pokemon are my favorite. I think Generation V has more dark types if I could remember correctly. I haven't really had a glance at all of them yet.

Honckrow has been taken. Murkrow hasn't I believe.
 
I would uave to say 3rd gen since it brought us Absol. Who doesn't love Chaos?

1st gen is the most original gen since its what started Pokemon.
 
Kanto could have had some awesome dark types, I agree. I think the Oddish family would have made some cool dual grass/dark types, and I also thought Staryu/Starmie would have been better dark than psychic, considering you primarily find them at night, as well as how mysterious and odd they are.
 
Oddish' sprite back then proves WHY it should be dark type. XD And I really did think Vileplume was a dark type for a while because Karen had it, but it's apparently grass/poison, I think? D:

As for Staryu, yeah I agree. It would have been perfect as a dark type, but yeah. :(
 
I can't really see the whole Staryu as a dark type thing,but I can see the Oddish line as dark. Hmm for some reason at the moment I'm thinking Fearow might have been a good Dark type as it is extremely mean and has Fear in its name. Perhaps Persian as well as it kind of seems Darkish plus they are nocturnal right?

I think they'd all qualify except Starmie it just doesn't seem "Dark" to me. I mean all the other Dark pokemon are darker in color and/or are feared by human either due to their Attitude (Sharpedo) or due to superstition (Absol).I don't think Starmie fits into any of these categories.

& The fastest Dark obviously Weaville/Sneasle, but I'd say Mightyena & Absol as well.
 
The whole Oddish family looks like dark types to me but I can't see Fearow or the Staryu line as dark types.
 
Starmie could be part dark, but i doubt that.

And the oddish family should absolutely NOT be dark types, where are you getting these ideas from?!
 
Staryu and Starmie are starfish so they would be water.

And The Oddish line does look like dark types, just look at them. Also some attacks they get.

like was said before most dark types are reflected as dark types in their nature, oddish and his family are not dark types for some of the same reasons as Starmie and it's family, plus, do you seriously picture a WEED and a flower as dark?
 
Oddish doesn't like daylight. Ok either Oddish is a dark type or its a vampire.

Very true, and specialty type trainers only use those of the same type not those pokemon that can learn moves of the same type.

Xilfer you also have to look at their natures.
 
Yes, I do picture Oddish as a dark type. Especially it's older versions. Also, if you read it's pokedex entry, Oddish is nocturnal and only comes out at night to spread it's seeds. In the original gen 1 games, the spites depicted it in a black color. Also, Gloom learns the move moonlight. There are several reasons it would make a good dark type.

Staryu and Starmie for the same reasons. They come out at night, they are mysterious (sort of like alient type creatures) Yes they are starfish, that's why I see them as water/dark.

@ Xil did you read the origin of species thing it is based on a Mandrake "a mystical magical plant that is connected to the dead and can kill people: pretty dark to me.
 
you really beleive that ODDISH is based on a MANDRAKE! that's just ridiculous!

LOL, they only made him black in the gen 1 games because it was OOOLDDEEE they didn't have much color ability back then for games.
