    Has anyone played a game from the Shin Megami Tensei series? It's basically a collection of first person RPG games that deals with both demons and humans. The human hero recruits demons to fight along side them in combat, and they can also fuse them together at anytime!

    Another interesting part about these games is that the main character can choose a general direction of a storyline from the choices they make, which can fit into either Law, Chaos, or Neutral. Basically Law deals with angels, where they believe that people should serve under god, and the Chaos deals with everyone, including demons to do whatever they want as long as they have the power. And of course, neutral is a little bit of both.

    There are also video games that spin-off from the Megami Tensei series too, like Devil Summoner, Persona, Digital Devil Saga, and Devil Survivor.

    So, with all that said, again, have you played any one of these games? Which ones did you play, and which ones were your favourite? Feel free to share all your experiences or any other thoughts too!
     
    The only experience I have with Shin Megami Tensei is Persona 3 and 4.

    And it was one hell of an experience.

    I love Persona, but I've actually only played 3. I watched the anime for 4 as well as watching my brother play 4 on the PS2, so it'd get boring for me fast if I played it myself. Oh, speaking of watching Persona, I've also seen Trinity Souls. Wasn't fantastic, but hey, Akihiko.
     
    This is gonna be a Persona thread. Calling it.

    That said, I'm still waiting for SMTIV to be released in Europe. If it's half as good as SMT3, then gimme gimme gimme.
     
    I love both Persona 3 & 4. Good games. Only watched my sister play them, though. I have played SMT IV. I both love and hate the game. It's a lot harder than most games I've played. And the Tokyo map in it was just insane. xD But other than that, it's quite lovely. Atlus did a real nice job with the graphics. :3

    Persona is only spin-off, we shouldn't talk about it in thread dedicated to SMT =)

    I strongly believe Persona should be distinctive from SMT series especially because of P3 and P4 =)
    While the P1 and P2 are SMT-like, P3 and P4 (which most people played) aren't really SMT material as you don't recruit demons =D

    Anyways, SMT series is a big leftover for me and I plan to slowly play everything I can =)
    And once I get 3DS, I'll get SMT4 for sure.
    From true SMT series, I only played Devil Survivor.
