I think the Hoppip is cute, do you really want to trade it off? To bad I live in West Virginia, Canada is far away to me.

Aparantly, Shiny Hophip are really really easy to get, most of the people who I know have one!

no, i'm not one of those people who pay attention to every little detail of training to make the perfect pokemon, i just train it with whatever pokemon I battle...

whoa!! 35 shinies! you are really lucky!!! ;) i only have 1 shiny :( its a clamperl i found it on my first try :D

What is a shiny?
A shiny is a pokemon that is off-color. Shinnies are very rare, so if you come across one, make every attempt you can to catch it.

Is there anything special about a shiny other than the color?
No, shinnies are collector items. A shiny won't be extra powerfull or anything like that.

Where can I find shinnies?
Shinnies can be found any way you can obtain a pokemon, or in the Battle Tower. You can get shinnies by catching them, hatching them or obtaining them from people (i.e. prof. oak). Some people say you can even see a shiny Raltz when Wally finds one in Ru/Sa, and the poocheyna that chases Prof. Britch as well.

How often do shinnies appear?
1 out of every 8195 pokemon is shiny on average.

Can I breed shininess over from a shiny parent?
No, this only worked in GSC. You will still have the same chance as normal in Ru/Sa/Fr/Lg/Em.

How do I know if a pokemon is shiny?
If you run into a shiny in the wild, stars will fly around it as soon as the battle starts. Shinnies are also usually obviously discolored.

Is there a place where I can see what shinnies look like?

he's not lucky, he's using an action replay to cheat... i hope you have a happy screwed up cartridge Gold Groudon14...
 
OMG!! I saw a shiny meditite the other day!!!! But this time...I had 0 pokeballs -___-;; Waaaaaaah!!!!! The only shiny I have is a whismur!!! And I've seen 4 other shinies but failed to catch all the time oO
I have bad luck with shinies --; I want that shiny meditite.
 
yeah well the chance is presicly 1/8192...

but anyways...lemme tell u the shinies i caught:
1st Sapphire that is lost: Shiny Tentacool (now in a Shiny Tentacruel)
2nd Sapphire: Shiny Swablu
1st Ruby and 2nd: none
Fire Red: Shiny Ditto
Silver: Shiny Gyarados and Shiny Psyduck(but it was released when i tried to clone it, it was the wrong thing I did...)

Shiny Ditto, eh, that must be rare, so you lost you psyduck, well, that's why i never clone XD
 
does anybody know if in game trades, if you trade a shiny do you get a shiny? like... if i give that one guy a shiny spearow for his farfetch'd, will it be shiny? because pokemon from in game trades have the same level and whatnot... so, does anybody know?
 
Yeah I just did the wrong thing I guess...but at that time with Shiny Ditto, I wasnt really looking for shinies then, just searching for somethin at the pokemon mansion.^_^
 
I almost have enough shinies for a halfway balanced team: Electrode (was Voltorb), Parasect (was paras), Haunter (was Gastly), and from Ruby I have Linoone (was zigzagoon) and Altaria (was Swablu).

I wish I could find a shiny Ponyta. Shiny Rapidash looks cool, and it was the last shiny I caught during the G/S/C days.

The word on SPPf was that the Pok?mons from ingame trades still have the 1/8192 chance of being shiny, regardless of what you give for them.
 
If that's the way it is then I'll find one soon enough. Maybe my Leaf Green doesn't like me. I'll just keep training on Island 5's Hoppip Island and hope for the best.

that's is what your are suppoesed to do, but remember, ignorace can be bliss!
 
Well, my Shiny male Nidoran has evolved fully to Nidoking, Attack 100, everything else 90 (Lv 50), and I caught it on Roue 3 shortly after I got the game.

So far, it's the only shiny I own.
Here are the shinies that were spotted in the Trainer Tower.

Hey, when shiny ditto transforms is it still shiny as the other pokemon? It would be cool if it did, cause you could see all the shinies that way!
(I hope this is in the right thread!)
 
I dunno, that would be pretty cool tho.

i dont have a cheat cartridge, anyway ive got no money 2 buy them, im skint! i already wasted my money on a DS :(
