3rd Gen Shiny Starters(Firered/leafgreen)

Ok I've decided to SR for the starters shiny and had a few questions.
1st: Does that little pic that pops up when you inspect them change if they are shiny?
2nd: Hmm that was about it thanks in advance for the anwsers

No, I don't believe the picture matters.
I'm pretty sure you have to get into the battle with Gary to find out if they're shiny or not.
But I never tried, since I don't SR for shinies. :/

It won't show shiny by checking status screen after grabbing it? if not I just wasted 5 hours lol

OMG, my cousin spent days doing that trying to find a shiny charmander. I guess he waiste probably a total day on that! lol

That will work fine by checking the status screen. Just checking it by the picture that appears from "choosing" them doesn't though.

From what I know, the bag inspection won't tell you if they are shiny or not sorry

Yeah you have to look at the status screen, not the image that comes up. I got a shiny charmander and Im sure the picture didnt show it (dont go by the little sprite bobbing up and down in the menu though)

The picture never shows it, so you have to look at the pokemons summary
