also if your going to make it a boat still, the brown needs more depth (i dont know how)
also my attempt at shadowing (the one with barly no colors) dont rly listen to that, its not correct. just i see it your spriting. it goes light-middle-dark from top to bottom (the body is oppisete) thats not entirlly given it depth, like proper shadows. if you look at officials or better spriters (your pretty good, just shadows and concept your lacking) the shadows are more real. hope this helps

your sprite is more like the love swan rides, its plain. the feather details you tried to add. it looks better. and hey in the attachments, i did some stuff, shadowing mainly.

i also edit the beak to make it look sad. well hey its blue so why not sad looking? (i see no logic there) blue can be happy. but it gives more eh character? plus rember the shadowing i tild you about. navy blue/sky blue wasent the best, its a ll to apart. but yea.

I knew he was Steelix ^^ I just wanted some fun. XD Plus that was before Pokemon District started. But still, at PD, I kept my head low like I knew nothing. But you caught me. XD
