Rai shook his head at Jena's statement. "Nonsense." he said "Your voice is no worse than anyone else's, you've just never been taught how to use it properly." he smiled a bit "I could try to teach you, if you're interested." he added, taking a brief pause before continuing.
"Anyhow, like I said, mother didn't know I was being taught acting until rather recently. It was father who arranged it for me, with the help of an old friend of his, he wanted me to expand my horizons, to find my own way in life, but as usual, mother had other plans...but I'm sure you know what it's like to be under family pressure." he added to Jena "So Mareep rearing was the only thing you were taught? You must be a natural as a trainer then, I mean, your pok?mon are obviously very fond of you, a lot more than many of the so-called 'trained' ones I've battled."
The boy looked up at Maxie's question, "There's more to life than wealth, Maxie." he said, "Besides, after all those training lessons I had to go through it would have been a waste to just ignore everything I had learned. But the most important reason..." he smiled a bit "Is standing right next to me." he stroked Chupon's head affectionately "Ever since Chupon ended up in my care, I knew that this is what I wanted to do. To travel and see the world together with my pok?mon." he cast an absent-minded glance towards the horizon "Entering the league should be an experience for me and my pok?mon, especially if we can win. And it will be the final proof that I'm strong enough to have my freedom."
