Ron looked at Cascade for a moment, and then shrugged as if it didn't matter if he told them or not, {Well, sometimes when pokemon are being treated badly, Zachary thinks of how it used to be for me. I used to be owned by a really bad guy that liked to try to do bad things to me. Me, you ask? The armored one? Yep. That's right. You see, I have holes in my armor? Some of those aren't natural; and all of them have been poked into by my previous trainer. He used to stick awful things in the holes of my armor and my left eye too. I'm actually kinda blind in it to tell you the truth. Zachary rescued me from him, but he still gets angry about it.}

Luka looked a bit surprised, {Really...?}

{Yep. He even cha-- uh... maybe I shouldn't talk about that part. That part's personal stuff for Zachary. He doesn't really feel comfortable about that part of his past,} Ron ended, looking up at his trainer.

"They're still inside. Hopefully not in another argument," Zachary said with a small smile.

Cascade was really surprised by what Ron said,not expecting it at all.Even if he was rather slow at times,he actually understood what the Aron was saying.The Mudkip felt rather ashamed,his fin drooping along with his head as he sat on the pavement and looked at Ron.

{Geeness,I didn't know,I'm sorry I asked.}the Mudkip aplogised,feeling sad all of a sudden.It was unfair,why could he lead a happy life,while others couldn't,it wasn't fair,not one bit,not at all!
Ryne slowly walked over,frowning as Ron told them what happened to him before meeting Zach.Taking a glance at Cascade,she felt sad just watching the Mudkip's droop,not like its usually straight position.It looked like this time,the Mudkip wouldn't get optimistic for awhile.Atleast not until he was given another subject to ponder on about.
Cascade raised her eyebrows,if they were playing that 'game' where they were supposed to make up stuff which totally weren't true,Ryne was losing,badly.

"Lets hope so."Jena nodded at Zach's statement,not hesistating to let out a small laugh.

Maxie and Fang had been conversing quietly while the others left. The pair had their heads bent together, Maxie whispering furiously, while her little bat screeched in reply. She shot a worried glance towards the others.
"Fang... Maybe we can talk later, the guys are going."
{Because those humans are sooo much more interesting than I am.} He muttered sarcastically.
"Don't be a prick. I'm you and you're me, so if they were more interesting than you they'd be more interesting than me!"
{'Cause that would happen.}
The pair pushed open the door and wandered out, catching Zachery's last words.

"Me?" she said to the boy, in mock horror, "arguing? As if!"
She folded her arms across her chest. "So what's going on?" she asked. "Are we going to head on to the first gym?"
Fang poked her. {Max, you sound completely heartless. What about Sephy?}

It's so obvious how I know...I'm surprised you don't remember...considering that the thing I learned it from was partially responsible for your siggy getting butchered by the PC staff.

Looks like you got a bad draw with the natures Melissa, Treecko's evolution line relies very heavily on high Speed and Sp.Attack to survive, and Sassy reduces that Speed by 10% while chucking that 10% into Sp.Defense which won't do you any good since even Sceptile has such low values in that stat. Tsk, I'd say your best bet would be breeding it (If it's male that would require a Ditto), but if you can't or don't want to then I'd still say that this set is the best;

Hidden Power [Electric/Ice/Dark]/Pursuit
Protect/Attract/Substiute

Between Leaf Blade and Dragon Claw you've got the types quite well covered. For the third move, the ideal would be Thunderpunch or Crunch but since the Thunderpunch tutor can only be found in Emerald and Crunch requires breeding Pursuit is the best 'Secure' one you can get, although if you're lucky with the Hidden Power then that is a better option. For the last move, there are quite few options available, but it would have to be something that helps your Treecko (Well, Sceptile at that point) stay alive a bit longer. Protect is good for disrupting charge and strike moves like Sky Attack or first-strike moves, particularly Fake Out, as well as checking what your opponent would try to do. There is also the benefit of getting a bit of HP recovery from the Leftovers for each turn that your opponent is deflected. Substitute is also good, particularly in protecting from status attacks (As I've already mentioned) and it has the added benefit that it can remain in play for more than one attack, depending on the opponent. And finally, Attract is always a good way to prevent your opponent from fighting efficiently.

Well, Mild nature isn't really ideal by any means but it can be lived with, you'll just have to be more careful around physical attackers, particularly Bug and Fighting types, as they'll exploit it quite mercilessly. Mightyena is one of those pok?mon that are rather tricky to make good movesets for because of their limited movepool. Myself, I'm quite fond of Poison Fang (or Yawn) on them, but since you'd need to breed it in from a Seviper (Or slakoth), I'll just take a stab at one that doesn't need any egg moves;

Crunch
Shadow Ball/Return/Toxic
Torment/Toxic
Protect/Attract/Roar

Well, it's going to get an Sp.Attack boost because of its Mild nature, that combined with STAB makes Crunch a powerfull attack indeed, but unfortunately that's the only special move type that Mightyena can learn so any other attacks would have to be physical. Shadow Ball is always nice to take along and would make this a really killer against Psychic and Ghost types, but it would leave a bit of a blind spot against Dark and Steel types, which obviously isn't a good thing. Return would only leave the vulnerability against Steel, and if you gave it Roar you could always pseudohaze away that troublesome type. Optionally, you can go with more of a Toxisshuffler approach, that is, hit your opponent with Toxic, then force it to retreat with Roar and hit the newly switched in one with Toxic, keeping it up until all members of your opponent's party have been poisoned, although Mightyena's defenses aren't really all that great. The Torment/Protect combo is also an option here, and might work well in combination with Toxic. So I'd say these three are about the best I can do;

Mightyena is a surprisingly hard pok?mon to use effectively, I'm still not sure if I'm that good with it either. XD If breeding, there are some neat variations available;

Set 1 (Requires Seviper):
Nature: Adamant/Jolly

Shadow Ball
Poison Fang
Return
Attract

Set 2 (Requires Slakoth):

Nature: Adamant/Lonely
Shadow Ball
Return
Protect/Attract/Crunch
Yawn

Set 3 (Requires Smeargle):

Yawn

Like I said, the neatest moves come from breeding in this case, although I'm sure Mightyena can become a competent pok?mon enough in its own right, despite its rather shabby statline, it's also always good to remember that Attack is Mightyena's highest stat, so physical moves (With the exception of Crunch, or even Bite if you want to go for the flinching, as they have STAB) are better than special moves on it.

Chupon covered his mouth with his paws as he listened to Ron's story, rocking a bit back and forth as he tried to process this new information.

{That's...terrible...} he said at last, sounding saddened {Why'd your owner...why would anyone...do something like that?} he decided to move on from the question as soon as he had posed it, considering that it was probably an insensitive and pointless thing to ask, Ashura had passingly spoke of foul things that humans do to pok?mon, certainly, but Chupon had always thought that she was exaggerating {It's allright.} he replied at the last part {Zachary must be a really brave and nice person to do something like that for you...I mean, rescuing you and all.}

"If it was an argument I'm pretty sure we would have heard it by now." Rai commented on the situation "Maybe they're having complications with their forms or something."

He turned around to reply as Maxie strode out of the building, asking where they were going.

"Well, finding the next gym sounds fine enough to me." he commented, "And it's probably as good a way to search for Sephy as any, I mean, they could have taken her practically anywhere after all. Although first we have to find our way to the next city. Does anyone have any idea where that is? Or even what it's called?" knowledgeable of ettiquette Rai might have been, a competent trainer, certainly, but he was about as knowledgable about geography as oysterns were about mountain climbing.

"Azure town." Maxie said confidently. "I'm from Hoenn, but my job lets me travel a lot. I get around."
Fang sighed heavily. His trainer did horrible, horrible things for a living. Killing people, paralysing people....Fang hated it. Maxie talked about it so easily, too! Hopefully these people would never have to see that side of her...

Maxie glanced to Chupon, who seemed to be horror-struck. "Something wrong?" she asked, completely unaware that she had just missed Ron's heart-wrenching story.

"The first Gym?" Kayley asked absent-mindedly, finally speaking up after several moments of silence from her. "Yeah, I guess that's the best way to go in terms of keeping on time for the League, as well as keeping an eye out for Sephy.. I'm all for it.." She trailed off, not saying any more as her case-swinging came to a halt.

Fishy seemed to snap out of his drowsiness, although that was just an act anyways. Facing Ron, the Mudkip called out.

{Omigosh! That's.. Wrong!} He exclaimed, not the best person to handle this kind of subject. {Wait just one moment!}

The Mudkip suddenly jumped off of Kayley's shoulder, landing directly in her sling bag. Noticing this, Kayley frowned slightly, but decided to let her Mudkip do whatever he wanted to do at the moment.

Moments later, Fishy popped back out, some kind of fabric in his mouth. The Mudkip hopped out of the bag in one motion, then bounded over towards the Aron as fast as he could. He opened his mouth, letting the scarf float gently down to his out-stretched paw.

{Tee hee! You can have a cool thingy! It will make you feel lots better!} Fishy exclaimed happily. Before the Aron could do anything, Fishy leaped over to Ron's side and began to swiftly tie the scarf around his neck, which just happened to be a perfect fit.

Once Fishy leaped back, one could see that it was a Focus Band, and a pretty new one at that.

{Now..} Fishy continued, turning towards Cascade. {I couldn't help but notice your contest of random stories as well.} He continued, grinning.

{Ahem. Once, there was a man named Peter, who lived under a highway bridge. He was homeless, but he was a very kind man who thought that everyone should give back to the community. So, he started a one-man pie business, and every Saturday he would hand out pies to whichever good soul wanted one.

One day, however, a lake magically appeared next to the highway. Peter decided to walk up to the lake, and surprisingly he found out that the lake was magic, so he wished for a magic bowl. The lake gave him this bowl, which materialized out of thin air, and Peter used it to mix his pie ingredients.

His pies became so delicious that everyone wanted to know what his secret was. Even the government. Becoming infuriated at the magic lake, Peter somehow killed it. Then, Peter ran to Fallarbor Town, giving himself the new name of Timothy, wanting to hide forever from the madness of the world. However, the magic lake's cousins, even bigger magic lakes, got angry and tracked him down, and once they found him, they turned him into a chandelier.

And so he remained a chandelier, in the middle of no-where, or at least near Fallarbor Town. One day a fat kid named Jimmy-Bob picked him up and took him back to his house, where the chadelier-Timothy would remain. One day there was an earthquake because Jimmy-Bob was throwing a tantrum, so the chandelier-Timothy shattered out of pain. So now, a chandelier is dead, thanks to Jimmy-Bob. The End.} Fishy finished his story with a grin.

Leave it to my luck to pick the lame Treecko. -_- I might just switch to a better pokemon if I can later on. The Poochyena's just a temporary in my team, once something better comes along... she might be taking a trip to the PC. I also caught a Mawile (Phoebe) and an Aron (Ron) ^^. My God!! That Mawile took 9 pokeballs and three great balls to catch! XD And had only a sliver of HP left. >_< Now I get to spend more money on pokeballs 'cause they're all gone. And what's the nature of it? MILD! XD

Now now Charon, we must all exploit Alter's abilities! It'll make his head swell with hot air from all the praise, and then we can pop it like a balloon! ^___^

Luka stared at Fishy with an odd look, {That was a weird story. Though, I liked it for some reason. Don't know why though.}

Ron studied his new Focus Band carefully with a smile under his helmet, {I like it! Makes me look manly. And your story was the best!} He laughed a bit. {Don't worry too much about me though you guys. It was horrible while it happened, and for a short time after, but with Zachary's help I became much happier,} he said to them, {He was brave... though, he usually isn't. You know, some people are always brave, and others are only brave when they have to be. Zachary's the last one.}

"Ron are you talking about me?" Zachary suddenly expressed, his ears picking up the familiar 'Ronarona' that meant 'Zachary'.

{Yes I'm talking about you! Sheesh... can't keep a secret around here can you?} Ron said gruffly.

As he heard Rai's question, he turned around. "I don't know the order of the gyms, but my Mom's old schoomate runs one somewhere. Her name's Xena, and she's supposed to be a ruthless gym leader that deals in Steel pokemon. At least, to my Mom she was ruthless. I wish I could remember the town she was in...," he asnwered, peering off to where Ron and the other pokemon were standing.

Zachary stared, "Um... Kayley, I think your pokemon just gave mine an item of yours." He pointed to the Focus Band.

At Zack's comment, Kayley looked towards the ground to spot the Focus Band around Ron's neck. Smiling slightly, Kayley looked back up towards the boy.

"That was nice of him. He must've had a good reason to give it to Ron, so there's no trouble in you keeeping it. As for the Steel Gym thing.. Well, I can't remember what town it's in, either, but I have heard of it somewhere. Can't remember.. Must've heard about it from one of me Mum's 'lady-friends'." Kayley finished, becoming slightly absent-minded towards the end.

Fishy's grin widened at Luka's comment, then spread even more at Ron's reaction.

{Why thank you! I can tell you another if you wish! Oh, and, I must say, glad ya like the cool thingy!} Fishy said, now focusing more on Ron. {I knew Kay-Kay wasn't going to use it anyway, so I thought a cool guy like you should have it}
 
"Xena..." Rai repeated quietly "I recall mother speaking of someone by that name...said that that woman had the right idea of what being a trainer is all about." in his mind, the boy shuddered to think of what that would mean as his mother's opinions on being a good trainer clashed quite drastically with his own. To Isabel, the only good trainer was one who believed only in power and did anything to win in a fight, always training their pok?mon to the very edge of their endurance for maximal results. Rai could never become someone like that, this both of them soon realized, and that was also why Isabel had never been the more caring parent when their son was concerned. After all, in her eyes he was a failure of a son.

"Well, I suppose we'll have to see what gym is first when we reach Azure Town, right?" he added in conclusion.

{That story was great...} Chupon said, grinning at Fishy {Yes, please tell another.}
 
Fishy grinned in happiness as Chupon voiced a compliment as well.

{Okay. As soon as our Trainers get a move on.} He chirped, once again making his way over to Kayley. From the ground he took a leap upwards, landing on the black case, then jumped from there up onto Kayley's right shoulder.

{C'mon people! Let's move it! This ain't no journey if we ain't moving!} Fishy exclaimed, causing Kayley to roll her eyes.

"Yeah, we'll just have to see for ourselves.." Kayley said in a response to Rai. "Well, Fishy wants to get moving, so I guess now would be a good time to head off. Anyone know which direction Azure Town is in?" She asked.
 
OOC: Ah Xena, another character I made up in two seconds. ^-^ Hooray for spur-of-the-moment characters!

BTW, Plushie, did I ever mention that I used to own two fish that were the same kind as your avatar? They were named Ash and Misty. =3 Too cute!!

"I agree, there's a pokemon to rescue, and a league waiting for us," Zachary said, suddenly feeling bad about bringing up Xena. He knew more about her than he let on, and certainly didn't know her as simply his mother's classmate. Ron looked up at him curiously.

{Who's Xena? You've never mentioned her before,} he said with a small frown. Zachary merely glanced with a look that said 'I'll tell you later,' and then looked back at the group before him.

"Let's go!" he said, thrusting out his arm, and knocking it into a sign next to him. "OW!" he cried, craddling his crumpled hand in his other hand. He looked up to the others, "I'm okay. Just a little swollen."
 
OCC: Argh.. Flissie missed the posting spree yesterday.. Still blaming mom for that.. Never mind.. I'm sure I won't miss today's one..

IC:

"Oh my!! Zachary.. You sure you're alright?" Silver exclaimed walking towards Zachary asking.. "Your arm looks swollen.. Are you really alright? Super duper alright?" she asked upon reaching the boy..

{Haha.. This guy's really clumsy..} Miruka snickered.. Silver glared at Miruka after hearing his comment then turned back to Zachary.. "I think I could do something about this.." She took out a mini portable first-aid kit out from her pocket.. and applied some herb medicine on his arm.. "This should do the trick.."

OCC: Now.. I'm fighting the Hoenn Elite 4 again with meh Sapphire team.. And I assigned each of meh Pokemon 1 Elite 4 member ta' fight.. Stephy fights all of them though.. And she's only at lvl. 53 now... Hooray for Stephy..

"Isn't...Azure Town on the Mainland of Showgan or something??"the girl wondered,having heard her mother and father talking about it sometimes.The Showgan region was made up of a few small islands.Each consisting of maybe one or two little towns,people could usually travel to each island by train.One or three gyms were around the islands.But,there was the Mainland,where,or so the girl heard,almost all the gyms were located.

"Yes,I remember now,Mama and Papa said that they'd usually take in exchange students from the Mainland!!"the girl exclaimed aloud.

"Exchange students...for Mareep Rearing I mean!!"the girl quickly added.

{Oooohhh...what happens next???}Cascade's fin shot up as Fishy told them his story.

{Yes,yes,I really enjoy hearing your stories Fishy,please continue!}Ryne smiled and looked up to the Mudkip on Kayley's shoulder.

"Just a little swollen??"Jena put her hands on her hips,looking at Zach's swollen hand as Sliver took out her first-aid kit.

"Here,why don't you try some of this."she dug into her bag and threw a bottle of ointment to Sliver.

"Its supposed to help with wounds and stuff,I took it with me when I ran..."

"Uh..I mean,left home!!"she finished,smiling slightly.

"Hope that they don't recognise that the ointment was made from those rare berries."the girl couldn't help but cough as she waited to see what Zach and Sliver would do with the ointment.

Silver opened up the bottle of oilment that Jena had threw to her and applied it own Zachary's sore arm.. "Another layer of oilment won't hurt.." She then turned around to look at the others.. "Jena's right.. Master told me that Azure Town is on the mainland.. But we will have yo pass by a few other towns before we get there.." She paused for a moment before continuing.. "So.. if we want to get to Sephy in time.. We'll have to go now.." She walked towards the entrance of to the next road before asking.. "Shall we?"

Kayley sweat-dropped at Zack's action, which became steadily bigger as everyone quickly took pity and rushed to his side to help him. Well, sure, she had stuff that could help out, but Silver and Jena were already on the case, and she really didn't want to use something untested on Zack anyways.

"Well, I suppose we should be heading for the mainland, then?" Kayley said aloud, once Jena had tossed the ointment to Silver.

Fishy's grin apparently could not get any wider, but everyone probably knew that it would have gotten wider if it could've at Cascade and Ryne's comments.

{Aw, I know you all want more of my randomness.. But I already told Chupon that I'm gonna tell it on the road.} He said, eyes shining. {So I've gotta be fair and make everyone wait! Nya!} The Mudkip finished happily, wagging his tail fin.
