OOC: Relax Plushie, I know you didn't mean it like that...just wanted to get it said that I wasn't in the mood for that kind of humour at the moment. I'm sorry if I made it sound like I thought you were all picking on me, that wasn't my intention at all.

Anyways, mine was the last IC post here so...yeah. Oh, and since Charon is having major computer problems it looks like we're in a bit of a bind again. Any ideas for keeping this alive until she gets back?

OOC: Oh, yeah Plushie, I felt bad too so I sent Alter a Get Well PM! ^-^ It was magical! XD As for what to do... hmm... I was wondering that myself. The only way we could do this is if the rest of us had to run off for some reason and leave Maxie alone.... It would have to be something like an emergency I would think.

Oh! I've got something... it's a cheap move, but it'll work I think.

Zachary
=============

Maxie seemed ready to catch that little Nidoran, and it definitely seemed like a fighter. Zachary liked that in a pokemon; Ron and Luka were the same way. He wondered if it would get along with her other pokemon.

However, he didn't really have much of a chance to wonder that, because suddenly a shrill scream cut through the air. Not a playful, scream of excitement, but a scream of fright and alarm. It sounded like a girl's scream, and Zachary looked over to the others when he heard it.

"Did you just hear that scream?" he said, raising an eyebrow, "Sounds like trouble or something." He wondered if they should go look. After all, there were many times when trainers would anger a dangerous pokemon and become injured or even killed by them. It was always on the news.

But they couldn't leave... Maxie was capturing a pokemon. If they left, they would have to let her catch up to them after she was done.

OOC: Eh... what'dya think? At least it's something. ^^

OOc-

Like, hope you feel better, Titan!^^;;

Anyways, I just got fitted for my uniform!^0^
I'll get it in a few days, so yey for that!^0^

Don't think I can post as much this two weeks. I so need to catch up with my schoolwork. So yeah, Jena'll stay with Maxie..>_>

Ic-

Jena decided to leave the answers to her friends, merely nodding her head to show her approval. As Maxie's Zubat started battling with the male Nidoran, the girl kept quiet, just watching the battle carefully, maybe she could pick up a few tips from this. Everyone except her seemed like great trainers, of course, she wanted to be a Coordinator...but that wasn't the point.

As Fang bit hard on the Nidoran and Maxie started looking for a pokeball to catch the Poison type in, the girl heard a scream pierce through the air, turning to face the direction in which the sound came from.

"Eh...that doesn't sound good."her brow furrowed with worry, if they left Maxie now... it just didn't seem right, did it? Though, if someone really was in trouble.

"Why don't the rest of you go? Eh, I don't mind staying here with Maxie..."the girl suggested, even if she went, she was doubtful on whether she was able to be more of a help than a bother.

OOC: Wha-? You too, Yibber? Gah, curse you real life! *Shakes fist* People are dissapearing frightfully fast. o.o Oh well, at least it clears up the realism problem of everyone just running off and leaving Maxie to catch that Nidoran on her own just after they made that whole friendship-trust-deal-thingie. xD

Incidentally, Plushie and Yibber, I know that you're probably both having real life concerns and whatnot, but it would be great if both (or at least one) of you could post a comment on BBs IC in Ancient Dynasty. It's been almost two weeks since he posted it and since he's finally made an appearance again it would be nice if you could give him something to post on. ^^

Anyways, pwhee for the plotish evasion-thingie! Yeah, it's a bit of a cheap shot, but I think it can work. Did you have something particular in mind concerning the scream or are we free to improvise?

IC:

As a distinctly feminine scream cut through the other noises around him, Rai's attention immediately snapped away from Maxie's battle, and when Zachary asked if they had heard anything, it became perfectly obvious for the boy that it wasn't just his mind playing tricks on him, although the quivering Kaika in his arms was perhaps enough proof of that.

"Yeah, that didn't sound too good." Rai concured with Zachary's statement, "I'll go at least." he adjusted his grip of the Vulpix he was holding a little, "Kaika doesn't seem to be too comfortable with the battle, anyway."

{K-Kaika bes not very comfortable with scary things that bes makings peoples screamings and things either...} the little fox whimpered, curling himself up as if to somehow hide from all the scary things around him, {Kaika brave, though...} he added quietly, sounding like he was trying to convince himself of that fact more than anyone else, {Kaika brave...}

"You two take care, then." Rai added to Jena and Maxie, "If you need help just scream or something." he turned back to the others, "Allright then, let's go."

OOC:

Wish granted for Anciet Dynasty. Yes, I shall check. I think I posted like one response to his post, but it's better if I check anyway just in case I'm blanking out. xD

IC:

As soon as he heard the scream, Fishy twitched rather than turned his head. {Y-Yeah. That's random, too. Everybody likes being random, don't they..} He trailed off, forcing himself to grin. It was plain that his tail had stopped wagging rather abruptly. Kayley didn't notice, for she had been one of those who had turned their heads in the direction of the feminine scream, an obviously worried look on her face.

"Is it alright if I come, too?" She asked, concern working its way deeper into her expression. "You're all right, that sounded bad. I just want to make sure it isn't too bad, and if it is, that it doesn't get worse." She didn't even remember that they all still needed showers..

Fishy finally noticed that he wasn't getting any attention from his Trainer, a frown spreading across his features. With a small 'hmph', the Mudkip stormed his way over to Kayley's feet, picking up the pace as she started walking.

{ooc| Apparently my hard-drive had corrupted xP
I got my neighbour to fix it so it's running okay, but not brilliantly.
Also... yay! I'm going on holiday on Monday!}

The nidoran thrashed, but Fang held fast; when he latched onto something, it was safe to wager it would be a while until he let go.
Maxie finally found one; it was badly scratched, no doubt the result of being abadonned in the bottom of her bag for a few months, but it seemed in working condition.
"Fang, move!" she yelled, before throwing the ball straight at the pair. Fng leapt away at the last second, fluttering up to hover beside his trainer. The ball and nidoran collided; the ball clicked open, and the little poison type was engulfed in a burst of red. It fell to the floor, bouncing and shaking erratically, before it finally fell still. Maxie breathed out in relief. For a moment there, she thought she'd never catch it.
Maxie bent down to pick it up. As she attached it to her belt, her hands gave another violent twinge.
"We did it, mate." she said to Fang. The zubat frowned.
{I don't really know if I want one of those on our team...} he muttered.
"It'll soon come to like us, I swear."

Maxie turned back to the others. She had been concentrating so hard she hadn't even heard the scream. They were all heading off, except for Jena. Maxie smiled gratefully. "Thanks for waiting," she murmured shyly. These little tokens of good will still took her by surprise, but Jena gave tem out like toffees. She's such a nice girl... "Do you think we should follow the others?" she asked.

Fang screeched to himself. Maxie was hurting badly. Soon they would just have to cut their losses and run... she couldn't cope without treatment for much longer.

{ooc| Setting up a departure for Maxie...}

OOc-

*has posted in Viper*

So, yey! And yey for Charon's post. And me realising that I only have to do a short write up for *shudder* Chinese for homework. X3

Ic-

"Eh, congrats!"Jena smiled as Maxie clipped the pokeball holding the Nidoran onto her belt. The rest had just left, if they started moving now, they'd be able to catch up with the rest in no time at all. Still, the girl felt that something was wrong..

"Eh, you okay? You and Fang did just take on a pokemon. Don't think we should follow them if your pokemon needs treatment. Eh, especially when you need to rest as well..."the Coordinator asked, it was this sort of gut feeling, not that Jena knew that she would rely on so much now. Usually, it was either a deduction or she'd find out for herself. At least, the way she had been taught. Perhaps hanging out with these people really was changing her...

"Eh, I'm sure the others won't mind, they'll understand if we head to the Pokemon Center first. Like I said before, don't push yourself too hard."Jena wagged a finger at Maxie, her signature worrysome eyes refusing to change.

{Fang person! You like hurt and tired, yes? You should rest! No?}Cascade had taken to conversing to the Zubat, there wasn't much of anything to do now anyway. What with a boring Ralts, mysteriously quiet Wurmple and sleeping Tailow and all.

OOC: CHARON!! *waves* I thought you would be gone for a long while! It is good to see you back. ^-^ BTW, don't forget to visit the Art Gallery when the contest results are up! Even if you didn't win, you'll still get to have a lovely Honorable Mention banner that was made by me! ^0^ I had fun with the banners for the contest. Teehee.

Zachary
============

"Aww... sorry Maxie," Zachary grumbled, feeling a bit guilty about leaving the girl, "Come on... let's go help the screaming girl!" He began to take off in the direction of the scream. She didn't sound so far away... it shouldn't take them too long.

Ron frowned, {You sure it was a girl? Kinda sounded like a really feminine boy to me.}

"Don't be stupid Ron," Zachary said, almost laughing about the pokemon's comment, "It was totally a girl."

However, as they passed some trees and rocks, they came to a small clearing where Zachary was just plain proved dead wrong. There was a boy, a strawberry blonde one with light blue clothing on, standing in the middle of it. Zachary was about to say that this must have been the wrong way, when suddenly the boy let out another screech.

"No no NO!" he shouted, with a quite feminine voice, "That's awful! That's horrible!"

Zachary frowned at Ron and the others. What the heck was this guy's problem. He didn't look in trouble. Was this why they had left Maxie?! He walked up to the boy, observing the light blue slacks and blue, polyester jacket with white undershirt he was wearing, and noticed that the boy had been talking to a Nidorina. The Nidorina was twirling around, looking kind of silly really. Zachary didn't know what to make of that.

"What's going on? Why are you screaming?" he said to the boy, not sounding really happy with all this.

The boy turned his head quite slowly, giving Zachary a puzzled look and said in his quite feminine voice, "Excuse me... but can't you tell! Well just look at it! It's supposed to be dancing! And this is the best it can DO! I mean I totally-- ooh!! HI THERE!" It seemed the boy had noticed the others, and he raced up to Kayley and Rai quite excitedly. He seemed especially interested in Rai, and had seemingly forgotten about his Nidorina.

"My name's Charlie!" he said with much enthusiasm, "And who might you lovely people be...?"

OOC: Yeah... um... so I made a, erm, gender confused boy up. XD Weeee!

{ooc| LMAO, Melissa! That was the funniest thing I've read for ages. Though... I know someone who's genderly confused. Or at least, I reckon he is. I mean, he claims he's straight but we call him the 'honoury girl', as we talk to him the same way we talk to girls... and what not.
And.... yay, banner by Melissa! That's an amazing prize in itself! Your art is so pretty...
Blah. I really should post an IC elsewhere... TOO LAZY'd.}

OOC: LMAO, I concur with Charon, Melissa, that's just priceless! Gawd, Rai is too much of a prettyboy for his own good. XD

Oh, and yay for your return, Charon! ^0^

IC:

If there had been something Rai had expected of the situation they would face when he rushed of after Zachary and Kayley, it certainly wasn't this. For a moment, the boy was struck speechless by the whole scene, relieved but also a bit angered at the same time. They had done all that just because of this? Some...some...affeminate person who wanted his Nidorina to dance? And now this...Charlie wanted to introduce himself, and when Rai was still so sweaty and everything. The boy groaned inwardly, noting that this whole adventuring business was looking less appealing by the minute. Still, his inner sense of manners would never have allowed him to pass a formality when one presented itself.

"I'm Rai." the boy said in his usual polite tone, nodding response, "And these are my friends, Kayley and Zachary." he gestured towards the girl and the boy respectively, "Pleased to meet you, I'm sure."

Kaika on the other hand merely stared, first at Charlie, then at the Nidorina, and then at Charlie again, {Rai...} he said at last, {Kaika thinkings that this stranger bes stranger than most strangers.}

{ooc| Okay... I'm gonna make a proper post now...}

Fang shook his head proudly. {I don't feel bad at all, actually! A bit sore where he scratched me... but I'm a poison type, his barbs don't affect me.} He fluttered lazily around Maxie's head; there was almost a swagger to his flight now.

Maxie smiled to herself. It was nice to see Fang so confident, so bold!
"Thank you for your concern, Jena, but I....think it would be better if we caught up with the...others..."
I might have to make a run for it, she thought irratably, My hands are getting worse and... and I can't let them see... she clutched her hands together warily. I won't leave Jena on her own. she added fiercely.
She wandered along the path back to the others, grinning at Zachary as she approached. "No problem, I-"
She broke off, as her eyes fell on the boy and his jester-of-a-pokemon.
She grinned sideways at Rai. "looks like you've got yourself an admirerer..." she whispered tauntingly.

OOC: Heh, I figured it would add a little twist to the typical follow a girly scream to a girl in distress. ^-^ Besides, there's nothing funnier than gender confusion. XD

Zachary
=============

"Rai, huh? It certainly is a pleasure to meet you, though I must say, that dirty look does not suit you at all my friend," Charlie said with a smile that one would not expect to be directed at a member of the same sex. Zachary just stood on the spot, his mouth slightly open, wondering exactly how to handle this.

He took a step, "Uh... well, now that we've figured out there's no problem here... uh, let's--."

"NO PROBLEM! ARE YOU BLIND!" Charlie screeched in a shrill tone, "Do you not see the deplorable dancing of that pokemon?! That is the biggest problem here! Well, aside from... would you like a handkerchief to use on your face Rai? I have several beautiful ones you could use if you--."

"Guh! Let's go...," Zachary interrupted, really annoyed with this guy. He swore the boy was hitting on Rai, and it was probably pretty uncomfortable for the guy, and Rai probably wouldn't say anything because he was so well mannered.

"Hmph!" Charlie huffed, glaring at Zachary, "How rude! Come Clarine! Let's go to the Pokemon Center!"

Through this conversation, Clarine the Nidorina had been shrinking, wishing she wasn't out of her ball. Charlie had embarrassed her in front of so many people... she just wanted to crawl in a hole and die.

OOC:

Wow.. Melissa, you are so priceless. xD

That's all I can say. xD

IC:

Kayley honestly didn't know what to say from the moment they had arrived at the clearing, watching in confusion as the strange Charlie-boy insisted that the reason he was screaming was because.. his Nidorina couldn't dance. And to make matters worse, he immediately rushed up to them in an attempt to introduce himself. Kayley bit her lip as Rai responded first, nodding silently as he introduced both her and Zach as well.

{Can't dance?} Fishy finally spoke up, sitting down with a 'plop' near Kayley's feet. {That's crazy-talk! Everyone can dance! Everyone is born to dance!} The Mudkip then turned towards Clarine, standing up as he did so. {Just find your inner, dancing soul! And then everything will be alright.} He exclaimed, grinning toothily.

"..And this is how you got so good at Rain Dance? You found your 'inner dancing soul'?" Kayley asked sarcastically, finally deciding to speak now that Charlie was going away, thanks to Zach. The response she got was an firm, enthusiastic nod from her Mudkip. Sighing, she continued to speak, this time addressing Rai and Zachary. "Well, now that that interesting experience is over, shouldn't we go find Maxie and Jena?"

"The thought had occured to me as well." Rai replied simply at Charlie's comment about his appearance, not feeling particularly keen on letting the boy closer. There was something decidedly creepy about the way Charlie was looking at him, something which was uncomfortably similiar to the way some of the girls back in Kingsfield had looked at him when they heard that he was not only good looking but also rich and prestigeous. Needless to say, that wasn't a particularly pleasant recognition for Rai, especially considering the gender of the person who was giving him said looks, and Maxie's comment wasn't exactly helping either.

"I'm fine, really..." he replied, meekly raising up a hand in a futile attempt at polite refusal, "I think it will take a lot more than a handkerchief to sort this-"

The boy was relieved to find that Zachary interjected right then, causing the Charlie person to throw another hissy fit and storm off with his utterly humiliated-looking Nidorina at his heels.

Rai blinked at Kayley's question, "Erm...Maxie's right here, you know." he remarked, nodding towards the girl, "And Jena probably isn't far off." he cast one last glance in the direction Charlie had dissapeared in, just in case the creepy boy had decided to wait up for them.

"Let's not walk too fast, alright?" he added to the others, "I'm not too keen on running into that Charlie-person again any time soon."

OOC:

Phwee for obliviousness rubbing off on my characters! xD

IC:

Kayley blinked once at Rai's statement, much like he had at her question. Her expression suggested that had she been in some sort of animated sequence, a question mark would surely be appearing over her head. Blinking once more, she turned towards where Rai had nodded, and sure enough, there was Maxie, having arrived to join them a long while ago. What? How could she not have noticed!?

"Oh, so I guess that means you caught the Nidoran! Awesome!" Kayley exclaimed, managing a smile although she was practically dying of embarassment on the inside. Fortunately, Rai was apparently intent on moving on, even if that meant moving a bit slowly so as to avoid that weird Charlie guy.

{Hopefully that Nidorina finds her inner soul. That technique really was rather dreadful, you know.} Fishy piped up, tapping his feet and wagging his tail. Apparently that had become a habit he was not aware of. {Well, it isn't like it's too hard so I shouldn't dwell on the subject, now should I?}

Ooh! We do have a somewhat gender confused boy in our class! ^0^

He's straight. XD
Though he hangs out with the girls rather than the boys. And the way he talks..>_>;;

Dude called Eugene- Why, helloooo..... *waves hand at all the boys and girls in class*

He's a girl trapped in a boy's body! O_O;;
And some girls call him Eugenlina[not me.XD]! ^0^

And there's another dude, who isn't really confused of his gender. But his voice is high and softish and he likes to put his hands on his hips.^^;;;

Ic-

"Eh.. if you're sure..."Jena decided to leave Maxie be, though, she seemed to have trouble with her hands. The girl hung back as Maxie rushed off to join the rest, she had too many Pokemon out of their balls, if this was going to continue any further, the Coordinator was scared that she'd lose one of them out of hastiness. Now was the best time anyway, no one was around, maybe she could ask Cascade for his opinion. He always gave the simplest answers, which managed to actually be of help.

"Eh, the rest of you can get back to your pokeballs for a rest."Jena sat down, holding out two pokeballs to withdraw her Wurmple and Ralts. The girl had completely forgotten of the Tailow on her shoulder.

{Jena wants to talk, yes?}Cascade asked, cocking his head and sitting beside his trainer as his other two friends disappeared in a flash of red light.

"Eh... I feel really bad, Cassie. After we agreed on that whole friendship thing..."the girl had both hands on her boots, rocking back and forth on the ground.

{You don't need to feel bad! Cause' if you feel bad, I'll feel bad! And Ryne, and Orjen! And Tania! And, and! And everyone else!}the Mudkip waved his paws franticly in the air, his trainer was asking such easy questions. Or was it the fact that he was getting smarter...?

"But... we promised to tell each other about our secrets!"the girl told her pokemon, bringing her knees up to her chin. She felt so bad, she was never good at lieing.

{Ah! They didn't say WHEN we had to tell the secrets, no? Tell them when you feel like it! Or better yet, when we get smoothies to eat! Yes??}Cascade hopped up from his position on the ground, nodded towards his trainer before running off in the direction he last saw Fang's wings.

"E-Eh!! Wait for me!"Jena blinked, getting up to follow the mudfish. A small smile forming on her face as she noticed that his tail was swinging left and right. "Thanks... Cassie..."

OOc-

Our class is also prone to boys hugging each other for no reason.

But I'm... sure they're straight...^^;;

{ooc| time to excuse my character for two weeks...}

Maxie laughed hollowly. Her hands were hurting too much to join in on the joke – even if it was laughing at Kayley's oblivion. She clenched her teeth together and tried to think about her new nidoran, Sephy, even her parents – anything to take her mind off the pain. She didn't want to be treated; that would mean taking her gloves off, and that would mean leaving the others…. She didn't want to go. She felt safe with her new friends. At home, almost.

If Fang had possessed eyes, they would most certainly be narrowed. He had known Maxie for so long, he could tell what she was thinking at a glance. She was in pain, she was desperate, but most painfully… she wanted to stay with these other humans. Maxie had always been his; he had been the only one she had ever trusted, and now… now she trusted these… humans.
Well, he would soon change that.
His ears flicked to her gloves.
There was one very, easy way.

He fluttered over to her pocket, perching on the rim. Maxie paid him no heed; she was used to Fang perching on her various limbs, and a pocket was no different.
The next thing she knew, her nidoran had appeared on the floor. She glanced to Fang – he was grinning sheepishly.
"Fang, what the- Ouch!" Maxie yelped loudly. The nidoran had lunged, and bitten down hard on her gloved hand. "Fang~!" she wailed, closing her eyes against the pain.
The next thing she knew the pain had stopped. Fang had pulled the nidoran off, somehow. Then horror set in. Fang had not only pulled the nidoran off, but her glove as well.

Underneath the leather, what was left of her skin was a nauseating shade of purple-grey. The bones showed through her nearly translucent skin, but that was nothing compared to the state of her palm and her finger tips.
It was a mess of shiny welts and half-healed wounds, oozing with a concoction of blood, pus and what looked strangely like…poison? It stank of something rotten, something toxic, something dead. It looked like something ripped straight out of a horror story; it was out of place on this bright, sunny day.

Maxie had frozen. The sight of her own hand… it disgusted her… She fought the urge to wretch. She didn't trust herself to look at her friends. Even the nidoran had stopped moving. Shakily, Maxie returned him. Then she grabbed Fang by the wing tip, and ran.

{ooc| that kind of...sucked... but Mika's a terrible distraction and I really need to get this done. Also... there's one mystery about Maxie unvieled. Now you have the Hows and Whys to wonder. Aaaaaall will be revealed. In two weeks.}

My chairman-*whose pen dropped onto the floor and rolled near Eugene's chair* Eugene, sweetie pie, help me pick up my pencil.

My chairman also slapped[weakly] the boy who he was sitting beside today in assembly on the shoulder and laughed like.... it was so creepy, that I had to reanact the scene for the girls in the back with the help of the person beside me. XDD

Like, hope Charon has a Feebas vacation! ^^

Ic-

The scene wasn't what Jena has expected when she arrived. They weren't very far away. And judging by the looks of their faces, something had happened.

No, not Maxie running off for no reason. But that was definately worth more questioning. Maybe it was because Fang had taken off her gloves. The girl had only managed a quick glance at her hands before Maxie started running off. So that was the reason why she wore the gloves, and the pain she was trying to hide...

Didn't they just agree on the whole, no secrets thing? The Coordinator blinked, finding it strange. But, it didn't seem that she was actually 'correct' in anyway as well. There were questions, but she decided to brush them to aside.

"Maxie! Eh, Maxie!!"Jena called out, was she supposed to run after her? Or maybe she would wait for the reaction of the rest of her group first...

OOC: Okay! I finally posted!

Zachary
============

When Maxie's Nidoran had been released, Zachary looked at it curiously. Who had--? Fang? Then suddenly the pokemon had bitten down on Maxie's glove, and pulled it off. Maxie seemed to be in a lot of pain, which made Zachary quite mad at the Nidoran. What kind of pokemon hurts someone like that?!

Maxie was his friend, and he was quite concerned with her well-being. When the Nidoran had bitten down on the girl's hand, Zachary's eyes had snapped onto that place, and so when the glove had come off....

"M-Maxie...?" Zachary said aloud, staring at her... hand. He couldn't help it, it was so... horrible-looking. His mind told him to look away, to ignore it, that staring would make the girl feel terrible, but he couldn't help it, and he instantly hated himself for that.

She did run off too. She had run off, and what had Zachary done to help? Stared at her as if she were a freak. He frowned at himself. "What... what was that about?" he asked, his voice concerned. 'What's w-wrong with her?' was what he had meant to ask, but couldn't say it.
