{ooc| *is flying tackled* Oof! my back!
Urgh, sorry I'm posting so late. Been walking my dog. I need to re-bond with him after two weeks away. He's still very well behaved though.
I've just been doing work experience - for two weeks, I'm working in a cafe instead of going to school! Our goverment thinks it's important for our devopment or something *shrugs* It's been really good fun. Tomorrow I'm working from 11AM 'til 6PM. Yay.
And yeah, Alter, it's all koshur.}

The city that lay ahead wasn't quite what Maxie expected. The word city put her in mind of sky-scrapers, gray streets and even blacker air. Koverike city's air was like glass; it smelt lovely, like a mountain breeze. It even carried the familiar scents of the countryside, despite the dwellings it habited.

The buildings certainly were tall; Maxie have to strain her eyes just to see the tops. They were topped, she swore, with peculiar little gardens. The buildings themselves were built of clean, light-grey stone; Koverike did not bear pollution's taintings the way the other towns had.

Their were crowds, too, but they lacked the sulleness and sollemness of other city dwellers. They were dressed in brightly covered clothes, and some, Maxie noticed, were even wearing feathers - something that was so terribly inpractical and flamboyant it just HAD to be costume.
Everyone was smiling brightly, and Maxie felt her own mood lighten. Almost catiously, she turned to a young man who was standing outside a bakery stall.
"Excuse me....where's the pokemon center?" she asked. He simply beamed at her.
"Oh, hello! It's straight ahead and to the left! And happy Festival of Ascenscion!"
Maxie smiled awkwardly, and headed off.

OOC:

Hiiiiiii Charon~! ^o^

*feels late* xD Oh well, at least I didn't miss out on the flying tackles. ^^ *hugs Melissa*

And work experience? That sounds a lot better than school at the moment.. xD

As the pile of kitchenware was finally brought under control, Kayley sighed with relief, glad that the whole thing hadn't toppled onto her, as if the group didn't have enough things to worry about. She retreated away from the pile just in case, noticing Zach's embarrassed mumbling when he moved away himself.

"Well, you know.. it happens to everyone." Kayley said, managing a rather awkward smile. Wow, that was dumb. But at least it was something..

She didn't want to miss out on the rest of the conversation concerning Maxie, however, so Kayley promptly tried to shut up and focus. And in doing so, she thankfully did not miss the information (or rumor, rather) on Fang's.. heartbeat.

Kayley was quickly confused once again. Fang? He has no heartbeat? Kayley thought to herself, frowning, because that obviously made no sense to her whatsoever. But if.. then he'd be dead.. and he's not.. is he? Ack! Wh-What if this whole time he was a zombie Zubat!? In moments Kayley was no longer frowning, the expression replaced by considerably widened eyes. She clasped her hands together nervously.

Meanwhile, Fishy had stopped bouncing up and down on Kayley's case in order to digest this new tidbit of information. Of course, that just meant staring blankly at Amelia for a while with his head tilted to one side. Once that time was up, he shrugged slightly, then resorted back to bouncing up and down again.

{If you ask me,} the Mud Fish stated, {I'd say that Fang appears to have no heartbeat because there was some mechanical or human error made here today. Unless of course this was discovered yesterday. Yeah.} He didn't appear to be serious at all, though, jumping up and down like that.

OOC: Aaack...school is out to get me again. ;_; *Groan* I've got the G4 Project (It's a group one so I can't procrastinate *Kicks conscience*), a bunch of Physics labs to do, Maths starting out again, and the dreaded end-of-term exams coming up next month, and on top of that, my stomach's been acting up lately...yaaaay real life...-.-

That being said, my apologies for the lack of activity lately, G4 has been eating up my time. Meh, at least the topic's got some appeal, we're researching chocolate, and what temperature different brands should be when you eat in order for your body to instantly burn up all of the calories you would gain. Yay for useful science! xD

Anyways...work experience, eh? Yeah, we have that over here too. I worked for a small computer-program design firm, maybe not as exciting as yours, but a lot more cushy. xD At any rate, it certainly beat CAS...'cause I didn't have to write a stupid diary on it. <.< *Kicks CAS journal*

"I don't know..." Amelia replied, shaking her head, "That's just it, it's not possible and yet there it is. At first they thought it was just the machine acting up, but it did perfectly fine in all of the tests Gwendolyn put it through." she took a brief pause, "It could just be that someone misread, though..." she added, "I-I mean, it's not like that Zubat was some kind of-of...zombie or anything..." the trainee shivered slightly at the thought, "Oh...but I'm sure there's some kind of explanation." she added, "Really, d-don't spend too much time on that, is there maybe something less...creepy I could help you with?"

"Well..." Rai replied, attempting to process this new information. It only lead to extremely disturbing conclusions, though, so he decided to let it be, "We were wondering, if someone wanted to get a wound like Maxie's treated...where would that someone go from here?"

"Oh, there are a couple of places..." Amelia replied, audibly relieved by the change of subject as she briefly shut her eyes to help her concentrate on remembering, "First of all, there's...Koverike City, you know, the one up in the mountains. It's far larger than Azure Town, and the air around there is supposed to be good for your health too. It's a good bit out in the mountains, though..." she added thoughtfully, "And the terrain around there is kind of rough, so if the injury was really acting up, that wouldn't maybe be the smartest way to go. Oh, you could also head back to the harbor and then take the ferry to Zephyr Town, the local hospital isn't that big, but from there you could continue by train to some of the really well-off cities like Kingsfield or Walore City...still, if it's really hurting then the place to go would be...Daven Springs." she nodded in confirmation of her own words, "Yes, definitely Daven Springs. It's a small mountain-side village, but the water from the local springs if supposed to have healing properties, and as I hear, their herbal healers are considered to be some of the best in Showgan, so if she knows the area, that would be her best bet."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, in a city which most certainly did not go by the name of Daven Springs, a single individual quietly separated himself from one of the many cheerful crowds within the pokémon center, the person in question, a male who seemed to be in his early twenties, dressed in a garish outfit adorned with black and dark blue feathers, quietly slipped out a small communication device, dodging into a quiet corner and quickly typing in a number, his dark blue eyes darting to the crowd now and again to ensure that he was still enjoying relative privacy.

"Sir Jack?" he said quietly, "This is Crow reporting, I have spotted the potential defector. Shall I proceed to track her movements? Understood. Crow out."

With that, the male returned the communicator into the secrecy of his outfit, feeling slightly huffed about having to dress up in such a ridiculous manner, not to mention the discomfort...he could already feel the tight fabric pressing into his waist, that would probably leave a mark that would last for days. Oh well... he concluded for himself, pulling down the hood on his clothes, which was fashioned to imitate a crow's head and, when pulled down, obscured his face quite effectively, Anything for the team...

{ooc| sounds, cool, Alter. You could've checked the boards while you were working! xD Well, I've been worked off my feet all week, and now I've gotta go be someone's comfort blanket. The poor girl just got dumped by someone she was totally smitten for. I'll cheer her up... somehow...}

Maxie entered the pokemon center, and resisted the urge to collapse on one of the chairs. There was something distinctly safe about a pokemon center, and so she always agreed to meet her 'doctor' in one. They were common ground, after all, so he could have no quells about meeting her in one. Maxie certainly wouldn't be caught dead going to headquarters unheeded, and she certainly wouldn't go to the 'doctor's private property. She could find anything there...

Maxie and Fang headed to the pay phone. For a minute, Maxie simply stared at it, before Fang nibbled irritably on her ear.
{Get a move on, Maxie!} he hissed.
Maxie nodded, strangely obediantly, and began to type in the number. She knew it off by heart. Finally, the dialling tone began to ring, and Maxie felt her stomahc clench. After a few rings, someone picked up, and Maxie gritted her teeth.
"Yessss?" the girl cringed at the voice. It was gravelly and hoarse, yet shrill and hissing, and put the girl in mind of nails on a chalkboard. She struggled to steady her voice, and then began to explain.

Fang had settled on the phone booth's lid, and was preening himself daintily. He looked up as Maxie put the phone down.
"He'll be here in five," she told him gravely.

OOC: Well, at least you guys get to have some work experiences... over here in the US, most (if not all) schools have absolutely nothing in the way of actual work experience. We have school councelors that can help you decide what career you would like, or other advice, but there's no placement into an actual job. There are special classes you can take to get work experience, but these aren't mandatory, and most of the kids at my high school didn't take them. >.> Thus why so many kids over here find themselves at a loss of what to do with themselves or how to get a job after high school.

All this talk about work is making me think of my summer job a while back at Carl's Jr. *shudders* XD

Zachary
=============

"Daven Springs?" Zachary said thoughtfully, "I think I've heard of that place before from my mother... she used to joke about going on a permanent vacation to that place. It does sound like the place for Maxie to go."

His glance went down to the ground. Why had he stared like that? He still felt so guilty about it. After all of their talk about being friends and being honest with each other and supportive, he had to stare at her as if she was some sort of freak. He glanced at Rai. Well, at least he hadn't been the only one to stare... Rai probably felt just as bad. He mentally shook his head; he had to stop thinking of that. He should focus instead on what to do.

"Well see now Amelia," Zachary said, giving the girl a smile, "You are helping us, even if you may not know what medicine can help Maxie, at least you know someplace that can."

OOC:

When I get a job it's going to be a job that requires sitting in front of a computer and expressing my creativity. Oh yeah.

But as for right now..

Well, today I really don't feel all that much different.. It just feels like Earth Day and totally not my birthday.. o.o

IC:

Kayley tilted her head to one side. "So does that mean we're moving off, then? Right now? Or should we start off in the morning, you know.. since it's so late in the day." Kayley paused. "But I guess that might not be the best option for finding Maxie as soon as possible."

Kayley utterly wished that she had something in her hands to fiddle with so that she didn't feel quite so awkward. Her lip was getting sore from being bitten all the time. If only she hadn't put down her case when she rushed to help with the kitchenware.. well, then the whole thing probably would've collapsed, so she really couldn't think too much on that.

OOC:

Eww shortness! ;o;

Kyah, you came on before I had the time to say this. And for that, I must say it properly, so as to make sure that the Plushie doesn't feel neglected;

^___^ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PLUSHIE! ^___^

Nah, that one wasn't grandiose enough, let's try that again...

^________^ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PLUSHIE! ^________^

Yeah, that's more like it. Bolded letters, prettyful colours and everything. ^0^ *Confetti* Yay for the birthday once more, and enjoy it. ^^ Ahh...it's times like these that make me wish I had more artistic talent than a rotting log...would have drawn you something...oh well, if you find yourself in need of grammatical/game-technical sticklerishness, feel free to ask. xD

EDITNESS: Like, it's not a pointless OOC any longer, rejoice. xD

Incidentally, has anyone created a birthday thread for the Plushie yet? There must be one so that random people will wish her a happy birthday too. *Nods* Yes, most definitely. Ah-hah, there wasn't a thread but now there is. That's right y'all, go there and pay your respects to the Plushie, I command you! XO

IC:

Amelia smiled bashfully at Zachary's comment, "Oh, it was nothing, really..." she replied, blushing slighlty and turning her eyes back to her feet for the moment, "I just wish that there was something more I could-" she paused for a moment, "I almost forgot." the trainee suddenly added, turning to adress Rai and Kayley, "How did your gym challenges go?"

"They went just great." Rai replied, smiling politely in response but deciding not to go into detail about the battles, he doubted that there would be any point, "Both Kayley and I won, but..." he cast a slightly guilty glance at Ashura's pokéball, "Some of our pokémon got hurt." the boy added, "Could you maybe get them healed?"

"Sure thing." Amelia replied, nodding, "Hang on..." she dashed out of the room, soon returning with an empty pokéball tray in her hands, "Just put any one's you want healed there and I'll take care of them. Oh, and congratulations..." she added, smiling at the both of them, "I'm glad someone finally put that brute in his place."

"Thank you." Rai replied in his usual polite manner, "He certainly deserved it after what he did to...well, never mind that." he turned his attention back to Kaika who was sleeping peacefully in his arms once more, apparently the exhaustion of the day had finally gotten the better of the little fox, "Kaika, return." the boy said quietly, returning the Vulpix to his pokéball before placing it on the tray along with Chupon's and Ashura's ones.

"I think...we should set out tommorrow." he added in response to Kayley's question, "It's late, and I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm tired, hungry, and need a bath. We'll be no help to Maxie if we run ourselves ragged."

OOC: *pokes Plushie's B-Day thread* ^-^

Anyway! I finally got around to posting in here this morning! XD

Well, it's morning for me right now... 11:41 to be exact. ^.^ And I'm hungry so this won't be long.

Just so you know, I plan to re-introduce a certain metallic pokemon within the next few posts. *squee*

Zachary
==============

"Yeah! Rai and Kayley really taught that guy a lesson!" Zachary said intensely, but not loudly, so that their spot was still not given away. Though, since they were done with the Maxie talk, it was probably not as crucial as before. Still, you never could tell with Gwendolyn. "Both of the battles were so full of suspense... and emotions," Zachary gave Rai a knowing look as he returned Kaika, the little Vulpix so absorbed in sleep.

"That's why I agree with Rai, we should most definitely get some sleep. Hopefully I don't get rudely woken up again by a ghost...!" Zachary joked, smiling at Kayley. Though even as he joked about it his palms started to sweat; ghost pokemon were scary! He was looking forward to the sleep though, the day had been full of too much for him. Much too much.

Ron yawned visibly after a few seconds, and shook his head to keep himself awake. "Yep, I definitely agree Zackie, sleep is what I need," the little pokemon said, yawning again right after his sentence.

Outside the Pokemon Center, a metallic object floated through the air making a soft buzzing noise, and was finally able to remember something.

OOC:

*was late to own birthday thread* xD

Well, I don't have time for an IC tonight (bummer), but I just wanted to say.. Thank you all for actually posting in that birthday thread.. it meant a whole lot and made Plushie really happy! ^o^

You guys are very awesome. That is all. xD

And.. this isn't really pointless, you know.. everyone could always use a compliment. xD

{ooc| *collapses* I'm...so tired....
But my boss likes anime! We spent most of today talking about Cowboy Bebop. He says he's gonna put on my review form, 'very cool person' because i like most of the things he likes.}

Maxie sighed, and turned to the Joy at the desk. The pink-haired woman smiled compliantly, and cupped her hands to her chest. Maxie felt a pang of guilt; she had abandonned Amelia as well, the poor girl. She was such a sweet young thing.
"How mayI help you?" the Joy enquired.
"Can I order a private room, please? A man should be arriving soon too, probably on a fearow. Can you send him through?" Maxie requested. The Nurse's eyebrows rose, but she said nothing she rumaged around for a set of keys and handed them over. "Thanks..." Maxie muttered, and turned to leave.

Maxie and Fang headed down the hall. Her zubat flew ahead, glancing catiously back at her trainer. She was always bitter when the Doctor was coming. She hated him, with his slimy ways, but she relied on him. Without him, well, there was nothing to stop her hands wasting away to a skeleton. This reliance - well, it enraged Maxie. She snapped even at Fang just before meeting him, and the Zubat had learned to keep his distance. He wasn't paticularily fond of having his ear bitten off.
Finally, he found the room, and he waited for Maxie to catch up. She opened the door silently, stepping into a room empty except for a single bed. She held her silence; she sat down on the bed without a word, staring woefully at the wall.

They waited for what seemed like an age.
Maxie couldn't speak; her mouth felt dry, her throat hurt, and ears kept prickling at her eyes. My friends.... My friends...
She missed them so much. The thought that she would never see them again - or Sephy - hurt suprisingly deeply.
Finally, there was a knock at the door.
Maxie rose to her feet, and headed over to open it.

A man stood at the doorway, dressed in black leather and a trench coat. A briefcase hung at his side.
He certainly didn't look like a doctor.
A cigerette hung out the corner of his jaw, burning slowly. He had a lazy, cruel looking face, with a hooked nose and dark, deep eyes. He might have been attractive, if it hadn't been for his foul expression; he had a lecherous gleam in his eye, and his lips were curled into a malevolent smile. As his eyes fell on Maxie, his eyes narrowed in distaste.
"Right. Let's get to work." he grumbled, and walked inside.
The door snapped shut behind him.

{ooc| Yay for scary men.}

OOC: Like, join the club, Charon...*Collapses on chair and tries to keep himself from coughing his own lungs out* Bleah, it feels like someone sandpapered the inside of my throat...feels all itchy and full of small cuts. ~_~[/Whine]

Like, yay for your boss, Charon. And the review form. ^-^

And Plushie...I agree, that OOC wasn't pointless at all so you are excused. It can be like an extra belated birthday present. ^^

IC:

"But before that, we do need food." Rai remarked, feeling slightly embarassed about needing to point it out again, but his stomach was taking up serious measures of complaint, and letting others hear your gastric rumblings really wasn't part of proper ettiquette, "You do realize that we haven't eaten anything since breakfast, right? I'm pretty sure that's not healthy..."

"Oh, it sure isn't." Amelia remarked, her eyes widening slightly, "Going without food like that is really dangerous, you know, I'm...not sure if there are that many places open anymore..." she added thoughtfully, "But I'm pretty sure that there is still a good bit of food left from today. So many people were just passing through to Koverike. They're having a big festival there pretty soon, you know..." she added, her gaze growing slightly distant, "Maye, maybe if you find Maxie in time you can all go there together. I'm sure she'd like it, you know...and we could all meet up again since my transfer's tommorrow." the trainee took a brief pause, sparing Rai from the trouble of commenting, "Oh, but I almost forgot. The food, I'll go and see what I can get, just wait right here. It's...maybe best if Gwendolyn doesn't see you." she gave them an apologetic smile, "I think you understand."

With that, the trainee walked out of the room, followed by the continuously silent Kuro who gave Zachary the evil eye before he left. First he was trying to take his, Kuro's, Amelia and now he was trying to take food that by all rights should be the Meowth's as well. The cat pokémon didn't like this one bit, no, he definitely didn't.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Private rooms...and suspicious male visitors... Crow mused for himself, edging his way across what little shadows could be found in the hallway while all the while keeping a close watch on the door that Maxie's 'guest' had entered Interesting...she certainly didn't seem to be thrilled about this visitor, though, I wonder what they're up to. Still, it's too risky to stand and openly eavesdrop in this hallway.

He reached into his feather-covered garment once more while simultaneously walking over to one of the nearby windows, pushing it open and allowing the fresh, chilly gale to strike his face. The wind was pretty strong, even at this floor of the building, but he was pretty confident that his scheme would work.

"Murkrow, I choose you..." he muttered, discreetly releasing the bird pokémon onto the window sill where it remained, staring at him with the bored but resigned expression of an underling who would much rather had skipped work on the day but knew better than to try, "Go outside..." Crow continued, "And try to observe as much of the proceedings as you can, report to me as soon as the girl or her visitor leaves the room but stay out of sight."

The dark type let out a dispassionate 'kroow' in response, holding its wings closer to itself and glaring reproachfully at the windy exterior but flying out of the window nonetheless and, after a short struggle of getting used to the gales, managing a fairly steady flight at which point it swooped back towards the target window, settling on the far edge of the window sill where it was reasonably well covered by the curtains on the other side and carefully pressing its head against the glass in an attempt to catch as many of the sounds from the other side as possible.

"Krow, is it?"

An almoustly painfully loud baritone voice which could very well have belonged to an opera singer almost caused the NK operative to slip out of his calm facade and make a run for it, but he was far more disciplined than that, and besides, Crow had, by now, become quite familiar with the owner of said voice, turning around in a calm, collected manner and nonchalantly shutting the window as he turned his gaze to meet that of the person adressing him. He was a tall man, probably a fair bit over two meters Crow vagered, with a muscular get somehow graceful-looking body, complete with a rather heavy-jawed head which, despite the evidence of over 40 years of life, still bore a sense of regality in it and would have been perfect for an antique marble sculpture but, alas, looked somewhat misplaced in the middle of a modern pokémon center, especially considering that said body was now clothed in a very garish red outfit, complete with a truly exorbiant amount of feathers in various shades of green, red, and yellow and the large, almost treathening, replication of the legendary Ho-oh's head for a hood.

"Yes, sir Armand?" Crow replied simply, performing a curt bow before the Koverike gym leader while focusing his discipline on trying to ignore how painfully loud the man was being.

"The festival starts in a matter of days now." the tanned, muscular face declared, its owner absent-mindedly stroking aside the small bit of blonde hair which still remained on top of it and was sticking out from beneath the hood, "As a new skydancer, shouldn't you be out in the city square practicing with your fellows?"

"Yes, sir." the NK operative replied dutifully, "I just came to enjoy the altitude for a moment. My apologies..."

"Apologies accepted, lad." Armand replied, patting Crow on the back in an unintentionally hard way which caused him to stagger slightly, "I used to do the very same thing, when I was about your age..." the older man continued in what the NK operative supposed was meant to be a fatherly tone, "But you shouldn't let the joy of flight divert you too much from your duties. Understand?"

"Yes sir." Crow replied, "I'll remember that, sir."

"Good." the gym leader replied, beaming, "Now run along then, you might still have time to catch up with your fellows for practicing the dance that turns."

The NK operative nodded in reply, proceeding to walk down the hallway in what he hoped was a calm but hurried way while silently cursing the gym leader in his mind. Long-winded and easily duped Armand might have been, but he certainly seemed to have his mind set on giving him a heart-attack. Well... crow thought with a nasty sense of satisfaction, He won't be parading about much longer once the master plan finally bears fruit.

OOC: Okay... um, I had this big long post typed up and what happens?! This computer's cookies decides to forget I ever signed in... resulting in the disappearance of my post. *kills stupid computer* Anyway....

Zachary
=============

That was perfect! What better place to be with someone you had a crush on than at a cool festival?! Zachary didn't comment on this though, for he would keep it to himself for a while. He didn't want to look over-eager or obsessive or something. Then something made him look up suddenly.

"Food? Oh yeah! How could I forget about something I love so much," Zachary joked when Rai and Amelia had mentioned food. What would his mother think if she knew he was wandering about without nourishment in him? His mother! He suddenly remembered that he had promised to check in every night if possible. Well, she had said that he needn't bother with calling so frequently, but Zachary did really worry about her all alone like that.

He would have to call her after they ate.

The boy nodded as Amelia and Kuro began to leave the room, but his smile faltered a little after finally noticing the glare he was recieving from the cat-like pokemon. "Huh?" he said in a low voice after the two were out of the room, "What was that about?"

Ron practically errupted in a fit of giggles, {You mean you've just noticed?! Hahaha! Zach, he's been looking at you like that for the whole time!} Zachary frowned slightly at his pokemon's words.

For a moment, the little metallic pokemon had a slight fear that Zachary might get angry with him as he had earlier that day on the mountain. However, these suspicions were proved wrong, as Zachary's face brightened considerably and he even laughed a little too.

"Heh, yeah, I guess I am terrible at noticing that stuff. But... why is he doing it?" the boy asked, adjusting the glasses atop his head.

The little Aron breathed a sigh of relief. This was the Zachary he knew and loved; the boy that laughed at himself, the boy that was always cheery and bright. Whatever had gotten into the boy earlier, and the outburst regarding Hazy, wasn't his Zachary. It couldn't have been... or maybe it was just stress getting to him. The pokemon was certain, but he was certain about Kuro's glares.

{That's easy, he's jealous of you liking Amelia,} the pokemon replied confidently.

Zachary felt himself blush a little but brushed it off and replied to Ron's comment, "Oh... well I- what should I do?"

{Don't try and force him to like you. That'll only make him angrier. Just let him be for a while... he'll give up eventually,} the Aron said, nodding his shiny helmet up and down.

"Wha...? But then how...? Whatever, I'm sure you're probably right," Zachary responded, folding his arms. With that last comment his stomach let out a long moan that sounded very much like a weak, old man. He shook his head.

"All of this talk about food and jealousy is making me hungry," he said, leaning against the wall. He took extra care to make sure he was leaning on something solid, that couldn't fall over.

{ooc| Nyah. I need to get my bottom in gear and post more frequently.}

Inside Maxie's crampt room, the Doctor paced. She sat on the bed, Fang hidden in her chest pocket, watching him catiously. His briefcase lay on the side, unpacked.
Maxie's purple eyes flicked fearfully from his case to the Doctor; she clenched her teeth.
"Can we get on with it already?" she hissed.
The Doctor stopped infront of Maxie, staring down at her almost greedily. She stared at her feet.
He put one finger under her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze, then rise to her feet. The Doctor stared at her scrutionously, his mouth curling into a smile. "You still owe me, Maxie."
The girl pulled away, frightened by the glint in the man's eye.
"I've still got one more year." she muttered, not daring to meet his gaze. Finally, after an age, he pulled away. Maxie breathed out in relief.

Opening his briefcase with a definitive click, the Doctor began to unpack.
He lay a vial on the bed next to Maxie, then another, then a packet of pills, and finally an oversized aerosol can. The rest of the contents were quickly snapped away, but Maxie had seen the inside of his briefcase enough times to know it was just the other's treatments. She had been seeing the Doctor almost every other month since she had gained her so called 'independence' a few years ago. God, how she hated him.... but if she wanted to wander the world, he was the only way she could retain the use of her hands.

Slowly, Maxie removed her gloves. The stench, as always, was the worst; Maxie's stomach turned, and the girl even felt Fang gag. The Doctor didn't seem to notice; his expression was still as uncaring and as bitter as it had been a moment before. He donned his own pair of plastic surgical glvoes and took Maxie's hands in his own.
The girl's hand errupted in pain, but she didn't move. Instead, Maxie gasped in pain. The Doctor examined each hand, ignoring her whimpering. If anything, it seemed to interest him, and he took far longer checking her over than usual. He coughed in a satisfied voice, and reached for the first vial.
The liquid inside was a vulgar yellow, and Maxie recoiled at the sight. Sensing her fear, the doctor grabbed one wrist in an iron-like hold - no matter how much Maxie writhed, his hand held tight. With his one free hand, his uncorked the bottle. Chewing on his cigerette from concentration, he began to poor the foul liquid.
Maxie clenched her teeth.

Her skin sizzled and bubbled as the liquid rushed over her hand. The few droplets that hit the carpet made the fibres burn and melt.

OOC: Likewise...I've been having a major writer's block lately. Hate it when that happens. >_<

Anyways, I'm more or less okay again now, so I don't see any excuse for me not to post another...

IC:

Rai remained silent during the exchange between Ron and Zachary, not feeling like it was his place to comment, although unbeknownst to them both, he too had begun to develop...certain plans for the festival Amelia had mentioned. After all...what better chance would he have of getting Jena to feel safe and relaxed enough to let him know even a part of the secrets she was keeping from them? Whatever it was, it was obviously important...and apparently weighing on the girl's mind more than before, seeing as how she had been keeping quiet for quite a while now, much like Silver...the boy blinked. Yes, Silver indeed...that girl had been attracting so little attention to herself that Rai had almost forgotten about her existence. Still, that was definitely something he didn't want to meddle in, and certainly wasn't dumb enough to ask about.

He stole a quick glance at Zachary as the boy let out a chuckle and commented on how he was terrible at noticing 'that kind of stuff'...that kind of stuff indeed, it was pretty obvious that Zachary was chasing after Amelia, and equally obvious that the boy was still completely oblivious to Silver's feelings, but Rai...well, he couldn't do anything, could he? If he just went and blurted it straight out it would be an unbeliavable embarassment for Silver, and Zachary...well, it wasn't like he was going to give up on his original crush just because he heard that someone else is interested, was it?

No, the boy concluded for himself, turning his gaze elsewhere again so as to not stare, Jena was the one he should concentrate on, far more gentle...less prone to mood swings...and...well, for a moment back there he had felt something that was almost like a connection between them, if she was ever going to really feel understood, to really get over her fears and tell then Rai would probably have to be the one to do it.

{ooc| SUMMER'S HERE! I had such a lovely day today; I sat on the school field all lunch time with my friends, and bought ice lollies from the school canteen. Then someone walked home and came back with a radio; we all lazed around while listening to the wonderfull Gnarls Barkley...until the darned bell rang and we sloped back off to learn about Nazis for an hour. ¬¬;
Still, WE HAVE SUNSHINE!
And YES, I know I'm skipping, but I'm lazy.}

Half an hour later, The Doctor emerged from Maxie's room with a calculating smile curling his lips. Maxie followed him tenatively; her glvoes were back on, but she was holding her hands stiffly. She looked strangely like a mummy, plodding after The Doctor with her hands out in front.
He stepped outside into the sunlight, and released a large, ragged Fearow from its ball. He climbed on, looking very surreal in his black trenchcoat. His attire seemed more suited to some underground warehouse, not airy Koverike city.
He gave her a dark stare.
"Don't push it. I'll be back to take a look at the rest in a month's time." he told her coldly, and took off. Fang emerged from Maxie's front pocket, and screwed up his brow.
{Hate him.} he muttered.
Maxie chuckled. "You say the same thing every time."

They entered the pokemon center, and sat down in one corner.

OOC: Hey, who isn't lazy when there's good weather about? ^-^ My Botany teacher once cancelled class "due to sunshine and spring fever" a couple weeks ago. XD Heh.

That sounded like fun though, Charon! Makes me wish my high school friends all still lived around here. I have college friends, but they're always so busy. =/

And that doctor guy is really creepy. Poor Maxie! ;.;

Zachary
===========

"Oh man," Zachary groaned, "I don't care if it's crackers that Amelia brings back... I could eat anything."

{Even your own foot?} Ron asked suddenly, looking curious.

The boy raised an eyebrow, "Uh, no."

{Well then at least you're not starving!} the little metallic pokemon replied, chuckling to himself. Zachary chuckled a little too, there were some pretty bad memories coming to him about the very subject.

He actually did know how it felt to be that hungry. It didn't really bother him though. He had made a promise to himself that he would get out of that strange cycle of poverty. Someday he would have as much money as he needed, and he would even have enough to get his mother out of that horrid shack they lived in. Yes, if only the right opportunity came along.

Ron yawned loudly. They had all had a big day.

-------------------------------

{Why can I not remember? Is he the one I am to kill?} mumbled an electronic voice, its pulses ringing out softly.

Electron buzzed and hovered over the Pokemon Center roof. He was confused still... something didn't add up about all of this. Why was it that he kept thinking he was supposed to kill the boy and yet his feelings towards it were completely different?

If only he could remember his master's words. Then this indecisiveness would be at an end.

He remembered his master saying something about killing... and then something about the boy. What if the two were not connected? Electron couldn't take that chance. Humans could not just be reset or hooked up to a generator after they are killed, though sometimes machines could keep them alive, usually if they have already died, there is nothing that can bring them back.

The Magnemite's one large eye frowned. He couldn't mess this up. For now, he would stay with this boy, and hopefully his memory would return. At least he would be close enough to him so that if his instructions were to kill him, he wouldn't have to search far. The strange pokemon buzzed his way down to the Pokemon Center entrance, intending to find the boy.

{ooc| I'm bringing in another character because Maxie's BORING right now. *evil glare in her direction*}

In the corner of the room in which Zachary, Rai, Kayley and Jena were all standing, was a perfectly innocent potted plant. It had bright green leaves, and sat very politely in one corner, apparently minding it's own business.
Apparently.
For hiding in his potted plant, was a pokemon. It had bright green leaves, too, a skinny, weaving stem, and a big yellow 'flower' of a head (though it resembled a bell), upon which sat two big, intelligent black eyes. And it was listening.
Jink the bellsprout had never been paticularily proud of his spying techniques, but today he was doing an awfully good job, if he didn't say so himself! He had learnt an awfull lot in the half-hour he had been spying, which he would very proudly report back to his trainer once these lot had left. The problem was, though, they were taking a rather long time about it... and Jink had an awfull urge to do what bellsprouts do best. Sway.
I'll have to wait until one comes closer, he thought, With their backs to me. I'll blow a raspberry and then have a good little jiggle, and pretend whichever unlucky fella is infront of me has just farted.
Jink giggled uncontrollably.
He had always been a uncultured little pokemon.

{ooc| I've wanted to play a bellsprout since FOREVER.}

OOc-

Like, yey! I'm finally back to posting again! ^^;;

Firstly, I'd like to apologise for the long, long, Feebas long absence. o.o
The exams sort of took over, and my mom ordered a ban from the computer.^^;;

But, I did pass all my subjects, including chinese, apparently, I got my name up on a powerpoint slide thingy[only to have it spelt wrongly. -.-;;] because my composition got a high score for creativity. So, yey! ^-^

Anyways, sorries for the absence! ^^
*gives you all a Feebas*

Ic-

Jena remained in the same position she had taken to for the past few minutes, folded arms with a blank face, the girl was keeping up with the events that had followed. She just had a strange feeling, it was one she had yet to feel before. She couldn't describe it, persay. But it seemed important. And, well, giving her own opinions to spoil the nice atmosphere which had been going on, that was anything but important. Still, this feeling she was getting, despite how much her mother would tell her that it was pointless to have weak, prone feelings, she had to find out what it was. For now, she was to brush it aside.... for no reason.

The Coordinator let out an uncomfortable sigh, just quiet enough so that no one near her would notice. Even she had to admit, she was being more silent than usual, but she couldn't do much to help it, could she? The only other one who was as withdrawn as her in speech was Silver. As far as she knew, it seemed that Silver preferred talking only when she felt like it.

Looking up to the mention of food, the girl gave a small nod as Amelia and her Meowth walked away, just to assure herself, that she was paying attention.

Wanting to go back to her own thoughts, well, whatever she was thinking, Jena couldn't help but overhear a weird noise. It wasn't loud, it was quite tiny..... it sounded like giggling. Just that, it seemed to be phrased in a different dialect. Perhaps, the one of a Pokemon....? A small Pokemon. The Coordinator look around, spotting a potted plant at one corner of the room. Something seemed to be swaying behind it, she squinted her eyes, wanting to walk over an examine it, but decided against.

... What if it was something dangerous? She couldn't afford to let that happen, to her friends no less. But, if it was just the wind, just a harmless fly, she'd trouble them, again. Jena frowned to herself. "Eh, I'm going to take this from a different angle, then!"

"Eh, wonder if there's anything around that potted plant thing. I could be wrong though..."she pretended to talk to herself, louder than usual, at least, loud enough for the people nearer to her to hear.

OOC: Like, I've got a reason to use the fancy large, bolded letters again. Goodie...=3

WELCOME BACK, YIBBER!!

Ahh...that's the stuff...nothing like a good ol' huge letter message to raise the mood. Something which I will need since end of years are starting...tommorow. *Dies in advance* ~_~ Oh well, first day is only English and Economics...shouldn't be a problem for me. Maths and Physics, though...*Shudders and reaches for his warding amulet* BEGONE SPAWN OF DARKNESS!!

Aaaanyhow...I finally beat the Pike Queen today...oh yes, Crit-hax my Snorlax will she? Her stupid Milotic really deserved that final Body Slam. <.< Now all that remains is to get another 10 consequtive wins at the Battle Pike and I'll get my second match. Shouldn't be a problem since I've got Electabuzz to take care of the Gyarados, her Seviper is KOed by just about anything and her Steelix usually explodes.

Unfortunately my computer time for the day has just expired, though, so...IC tommorrow...I've got some last-minute Economics revising to do.

Like, Feebas! Hi Yibber!

My welcome's fancier xD
Yah, Maths is my weak point too. I managed to get a grand total of 3/100 in my practise exams last week. Luckily I have my dyscalulia to blame it on. STILL, I refuse to fail! *has been revising every night*
