thanks sims.

i just got this snorlax.

Careful #143 Snorlax: 31 / 20 - 21 / 23 / 18 - 19 / 30 - 31 / 24

the attack is low =[, but does that matter if im planning to use it as a Special Wall?

I just did some calcs. A Wigglytuff with Max HP & Sp.Def with Light Screen up can easily survive a Hyper Beam from Porygon Z.

While it can survive a Hyper Beam from Porygon-Z, I don't think Porygon-Z would be using Hyper Beam, and Wigglytuff having Light Screen is situational at best.

Max SpA Adaptibility Porygon-Z Hyper Beam on Max/Max Wigglytuff with Light Screen - 41.74% - 49.17%
Max SpA Adaptibility Porygon-Z Tri Attack on Max/Max Wigglytuff with Light Screen -
22.31% - 26.45%

It is doubtful that Porygon-Z will even attempt to Hyper Beam Wigglytuff without a NP boost, as Hyper Beam leaves Porygon-Z vulnerable to Status (Sing/Twave) from Wigglytuff, as well as the presence of Light Screen sort of neuters Porygon-Z.

Max SpA Adaptibility Porygon-Z Hyper Beam on Max/Max Wigglytuff without Light Screen - 82.64% - 97.52%
Max SpA Adaptibility Porygon-Z Tri Attack on Max/Max Wigglytuff without Light Screen - 44.21% - 52.07%

Without Light Screen, Wigglytuff is raped by Porygon-Z even with Max/Max defenses, and Porygon-Z won't stay in on Wigglytuff to get Twaved/Singed.
These calculations are the same as Porygon-Z with a Nasty Plot boost on Max/Max defenses Wigglytuff with Light Screen.

Max SpA Adaptibility Porygon-Z Hyper Beam with NP boost on Max/Max Wigglytuff without Light Screen - 164.88% - 194.21%
Max SpA Adaptibility Porygon-Z Tri Attack with NP boost on Max/Max Wigglytuff without Light Screen - 88.02% - 103.72%

Putting Hyper Beam on Specs-Z is not achieving what Hyper Beam was for - OHKOing Blissey with Nasty Plot.

My question is whether a CounterBro would be viable in the metagame. Simply -

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Bold (+Def -Attack)
Own Tempo
252 HP, 212 Defense, 44 Special Attack

Ice Beam
HP Electric/Surf
Counter
Slack Off

Simply for countering Ttar/other physical sweepers that have an SE move on Slowbro, since it gets hit pretty hard by SE moves and CBChomp EQ does ~50% to it.

Ice Beam is for ScarfChomp/DDMence, Surf could go over it.
HP Electric is for Gyarados.

Jesus Crist, it was an interesting bit of trivia I put up for kicks. Basically saying how the often underrated, and precived as "useless" Wigglytuff can accomplish this. Jesus. I can't even put up simple trivia without someone rushing in out of nowhere to disprove me, and I take it as a bit rude. I know that no one in their right mind woulld use that, and I know that without the Screen, hewr survivabilty goes down against sp.moves. That is obvious. Very obvious. You aren't really telling me anything new, since I know how Z works, what he does, and what he is used for. You aren't speaking to some random rookie, here, and you certainly aren't educating me on why Z would have Hyper Beam anyway. Stop rushing up to "correct" me on something that is small as this, especially since I never asked how Z works. I know why it would have Hyper Beam. I also know why it would be used. The point was, as I said, to just point out how Wigglytuff, considered an NU, can accomplish this feat.

And why wouldn't it have Light Screen to begin with? How situational is that? That & Reflect are moves that Wigglytuff should always have in order to boost survivability, and to offeset of meager defenses.

Now, to answer your question, I don't care much for Counter in general. One use, and the surprise is over. Plus, a misuse can leave you settup fodder, for instance, if you overpredict a move.

I think it probably could use a few, but its quite fast anyway.
Anyone know who you breed Blastoise with to get Aqua Ring?

T-Tar 0_o ouch.....I wouldnt advise that, its really going to get raped regardless of the set, what happens if you try and counter and it decides to Dragon Dance or it Subs up and decides to go Boah on your ass ?

But, yeah, i could see it working though, kinda situational imo however i think it would work better for countering neutral hits.

Definitely use surf though, a Slowbro without a STAB move is a sad Slowbro.

Hey, i'm going to start breeding Scarfcross, and i was wondering if a scarfross needs high speed IVS, cause then i could just focus on the attack IVS

Yes, it needs speed, for scarf, and for Band regardless.

Hey, just wondering...

Does Protect+Detect work? What I mean is, can they both be used interchangably on the same set. (i.e. Toxic, then Protect, then Detect, then Protect, then Detect...)

It would be a scary possibility if they could, but I doubt it. (o.0, run a fire typed move for the steels, and the only pokemon walling you is Heatran...)

Nah, it doesnt work, they fail in succession if used xp

Beat-Up hits with the base Attack of the Pokemon on the team? If so, I might make a gimmick team centralizing on that move.

if you use protect then detect and this thing until your opponent dies it's really risky cuz you may run out of pp if you face a wall like blissey with too many hp.but i thik it succeeds.......really this is a smart idea.you're good........

Not because as i already said, they fail when used in succession =/

would these be good iv's for a adamant dugtrio?

HP: 26
Att: 14 - 15
Def: 19 - 20
SpA: 10 - 11
SpD: 2 - 3
Speed: 23 - 24

when they are used in the same pokemon no they don't fail.think about it.......hitmontop uses protect and its opponemt tries to hit,it misses......then you don't use protect but detect.your opponent misses again.....then again protect......and that's how it goes
they fail if they are used in two turns in a row and if the opponent hits.but with two protection moves you are covered

They work from the same modifier, its like you use protect or detect twice in a row, even if you do alternate between both moves.

This happens, i tried it

Zapdos used Protect !

Zapdos used Detect ! But it failed ....

you convinced me......if you tried it then the hat is off you

ok,this is a serious question i would like to make:is zap cannon more accurate when you ''lock on''?or you just have to rely on your luck?

Any Lock On move hits instantly. If you look on Wikipedia (or bookrags.com) under "Articuno" they'll mention how it has a killer combo of Sheer Cold & Lock On. Of course, you don't go there for battle help, and that is a very pitiful combo. The opponent WILL switch, making that useless--and a waste of a moveslot.

I had an idea on a Blissey...I wanna know if it'd be a decent idea.

Blissey@Leftovers *Double-Status Cheesecake*
Calm
252def/216sp.def/40HP

Toxic
T-Wave
Softboiled
Seismic Toss/Flamethrower/Aromatherapy

This set will be a major annoyance to many things. T-Wave sweepers, Toxic tanks, and the last move is personal preference. Seismic Toss for standard 100 damage, Flamethrower > Steels, or if you NEED a Cleric, then drop all power off of Blissey and do that.

I thought of it last night, but I'd like to get some major critiquing. It'd be a pesty annoyance to a lot of things, but it attracts CB Hera even more.

alright. you told me i needed 25+ attack right? how will this do:

Dugtrio - #51 (Adamant)
HP: 9 - 10
Att: 30
Def: 29 - 30
SpA: 29 - 30
SpD: 3 - 4
Speed: 24 - 25

hp and sp. defense are a bummer, but the others are awsome
