3rd Gen Simple Questions (Ask Questions Here)

That's how PokeBlocks are made, actually. You blend with a friend, with one of the in-game characters (I have found Mister to be the most consistent), or if you have Emerald, you have access to the greatest blender of all - Master Blender. You contribute a berry, and depending what berry you use your partner will contribute one two. I don't suggest you blend berries with a friend with the purpose of leveling up Milotic unless you both know what you are doing. The Level or Feel will probably end up being insufficient, or the color or flavor will be wrong, resulting in the Beauty stat not being raised high enough for Feebas to evolve.

There is a limit of Blocks you can feed Feebas. I am not sure what it is (14, iirc) though. I strictly blend with the Master Blender and I have never had a problem.

It is a person. In Emerald, after you defeat the Weak5, you will occasionally get TV news about different things. One of the them is that the Blend Master (who is the best at blending, hence being called "Master") will be appearing at the Lilycove Contest Hall.

Weak 5?

I also have another question.I'm not sure if it is basic but...

I play Emerald on a DS Lite.I want to trade to my friend who has a SP and a wireless adapter will it work?

no, you can't use your ds for gba trading.

Here I go again...

1. I believe there is some purpose to the 'Unown' pokemon. Am I wrong here? There are so many different symbols and yet they are so utterly useless pokes...eh?

2. Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, and Mew...unobtainable without a 'nintendo event' ? How do I find out about these events (when and where they'll be? , what they'll be giving away?). Are these the only 3 pokes that u are not able to get without the event?

3. Other than their Extremely rare status, are shinies actually Better than the regular versions? IE: stats, EVs, & IVs?? i read on a post somewhere that someone beat a Rayquaza with a shiny Starmie...

a. are the legendaries ie: mewtwo sittin there in the cave , Predetermined shiny or
not, or am I able to attack him, see if he's shiny, and if not reset the game and try
again??

b. from above ^^^ the legendary dogs and [email protected] question.

4. I ran into an 8 year old kid at the supermarket flippin through Pokemon Trading Cards, and he said that a poke called "missingNO" will freeze my game up forever so don't catch it. Makes no sense and I can't find it in my Pokedex Guide book i bought. ??

5. The three dogs and [email protected] never come across them...been playin for a LONG time. Is there a trick that I haven't read about. Hint, tip, help plz! :D

Thank you in advance so I won't post again!! You guys are truly Awesome!

I'll type my response in bold

1. I believe there is some purpose to the 'Unown' pokemon. Am I wrong here? There are so many different symbols and yet they are so utterly useless pokes...eh?
The only point of them is as a novelty, they can't really fight and they don't unlock anything in the game. Some people just like collecting them.

2. Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, and Mew...unobtainable without a 'nintendo event' ? How do I find out about these events (when and where they'll be? , what they'll be giving away?). Are these the only 3 pokes that u are not able to get without the event?
Well since nintendo events are so rare, you have to find other ways. For example, jirachi can be gotten through a collesumn bonus disk

3. Other than their Extremely rare status, are shinies actually Better than the regular versions? IE: stats, EVs, & IVs?? i read on a post somewhere that someone beat a Rayquaza with a shiny Starmie...
Not at all, they're no better or no worse. Sometimes it seems like they have worse Hp than normal even..

a. are the legendaries ie: mewtwo sittin there in the cave , Predetermined shiny or
not, or am I able to attack him, see if he's shiny, and if not reset the game and try
again??

b. from above ^^^ the legendary dogs and [email protected] question.
You can do this with mewtwo and the like, but not latios and friends. They're shiny or not from the start. If you really want to reset, you can try it, but you won't find a shiny mewtwo for such a long time I'd strongly suggest not doing that.

4. I ran into an 8 year old kid at the supermarket flippin through Pokemon Trading Cards, and he said that a poke called "missingNO" will freeze my game up forever so don't catch it. Makes no sense and I can't find it in my Pokedex Guide book i bought. ??
Missingno is a glitch from red and blue. if you want to know more about it try google. It's not as crazy as some people think. One of the cool things about it though is that it's the 'bird type' a type nintendo was going to use in place of flying, and somehow ended up in the game

5. The three dogs and [email protected] never come across them...been playin for a LONG time. Is there a trick that I haven't read about. Hint, tip, help plz! :D

you can only get them one way; by what starter you picked. And even still, there will only be one of them. you also have to have the natioal dex (FR/ LG). In addtion, to catch latios or latias you need to have beaten the elite four (R/S)

Thank you in advance so I won't post again!! You guys are truly Awesome!

hope I helped with any of your issues

I refer to the "Elite4" as the Weak5 since, well, they are. Only a complete idiot would flood their team with Poke that share the same weaknesses. That is what happens though when the programmers need to allow a six-year old to beat the game. Difficulty levels, where art thou???

AC Drain is correct. No trading between DS and SP.
Damn and none of my friends have the DS.I wanted Roselia
Doesn't matter. You cannot trade between two DS either. The only thing you can do with DS is when DP comes out, you are supposed to be able to put DP in one end and RSE/FRLG in the other and trade that way. That is awesome since you would have to have two DS otherwise.

Here I go again...

1. I believe there is some purpose to the 'Unown' pokemon. Am I wrong here? There are so many different symbols and yet they are so utterly useless pokes...eh?

Yes, you are wrong. Unown was a lame novelty idea from the cartoon, iirc, that was carried over into the GSC games. Then they were carried over into FRLG, unfortunately. Complete waste of time.

2. Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, and Mew...unobtainable without a 'nintendo event' ? How do I find out about these events (when and where they'll be? , what they'll be giving away?). Are these the only 3 pokes that u are not able to get without the event?

There are actually FOUR, but the answer is still yes. AC gave a good alternative, but those are extremely rare. You can also come across them on eBay or through other friends. Not sure if the Nintendo Store in New York still has them available or not. I was in New York on business last month and stupid me forgot to take all mine and my boys carts with me to visit the store. Stupid me.

3. Other than their Extremely rare status, are shinies actually Better than the regular versions? IE: stats, EVs, & IVs?? i read on a post somewhere that someone beat a Rayquaza with a shiny Starmie...

There is nothing special at all about "shiny" Pokes, except their color. Just another lame novelty idea. Now if they were actually better, that might make the search for them worthwhile. A well-trained Starmie definitely can KO a Rayquaza.

a. are the legendaries ie: mewtwo sittin there in the cave , Predetermined shiny or
not, or am I able to attack him, see if he's shiny, and if not reset the game and try
again??

The shiny percentage is calculated upon your encounter with them. Some people save right before hand and then waste countless hours reseting until they get a shiny. I reset too, but not as much and for a better reason. I reset to get a good nature and good IV stats. That is what makes your Poke better, not the color of it.

b. from above ^^^ the legendary dogs and [email protected] question.

Same answer.

4. I ran into an 8 year old kid at the supermarket flippin through Pokemon Trading Cards, and he said that a poke called "missingNO" will freeze my game up forever so don't catch it. Makes no sense and I can't find it in my Pokedex Guide book i bought. ??

As AC already said, that was a common glitch in the old RBY games and cannot be found in the advanced version. I do believe there is some cheat that you can use to get it, but no one likes a cheater.

5. The three dogs and [email protected] never come across them...been playin for a LONG time. Is there a trick that I haven't read about. Hint, tip, help plz! :D

The easiest way to catch Lati@s is to breed Shroomish to have Spore and False Swipe and then level it up to Lv40. Put that as your lead, purchase a ton of Max Repel, Fly to Mossdeep, and then Surf northwest to Route 124. There you will find a house that belongs to the Shard Collector. What you do is use Max Repel, Surf up and down the coast twice, and then go inside the house. When you go outside the house, Lati@s will have changed routes, while you have not. Repeat this process over and over until Lati@s appears. Getting a shiny Lati@s is EXTREMELY difficult since you cannot save the game if it is on the same route as you because every time you turn on your game, it changes its route.

As for the Legendary Dogs, unless you can trade from Emerald to FRLG, you will have to train a different Poke that isn't as cool. A Lv40 Poke with a sleep move works. The same concept applies though. Use your Max Repels and go in and out of a house on a route. I have used the house on Route 12 with success. Unlike Lati@s though, if you save the game with the Dog on your route it will stay there.

BTW - As AC said, your Dog depends on your starter:

Bulbasaur - Entei
Charmander - Suicune
Squirtle - Raikou

Don't stop posting. That is what the Simple Questions thread if for.

Thank you. In Pokemon Emerald can you obtain a pinpuku through breeding a luck incense holding chansey.

Also where do you buy incenses

Uhh a pinpuku is a Diamond / Pearl Pokemon only, you cannot get it in Emerald.

Well, I have some questions for Emerald.

- Where can I find a Relicanth ?? I searched in the same place I used to search in Sapphire, but I only find Clamperls and Chinchous. And, as I haven't seen a Relicanth yet, I can't search for it in the Pokédex...

- Please tell me some Pokémon I can find in Emerald who can learn Spore. I need it for my future Smeargle moveset.

Thanks in advance !! :D

Thanks and where do you buy/get incenses?
You cannot buy any incenses in RSE/FRLG. In RSE, you can find the Lax Incense and the Sea Incense at Mt. Pyre. In FRLG, they can be found in the Lost Cave at Five Island.

Relicanth can be found on Route 124 and Route 126 and you can only find it by searching the seaweed underwater after using Dive.

The only Poke that learns Spore in Emerald is Shroomish and it doesn't learn it until Lv54.

I always hated searching for Relicanth. You'd think a Pokemon that is so elusive would be useful for fighting, but I guess not? And what a waste, it gets rock's most powerful move, mallet, in P/D. Too bad he doesn't have the attack or speed to use it.

I got lucky and found Relicanth in about 5 minutes. He is virtually useless, but the guy's got some defense, I'll give him that. I think mine was at Lv 32 or so, and he took quite a few good hits from Regirock while still being able to get a bunch of Yawns in.

The best thing to do is to take a pokemon that knows Sweet Scent under water with you, since I've noticed coming across a wild pokemon under water in itself is rather uncommon.

I've done several searches on the "Volt tackle" move that u get from breeding 2 pickachi ;O, but now I'm wondering if it's possible to breed around and get volt tackle into another pokes moveset? I'm unfamiliar with all of the breeding ins and outs, but have seen several (breed so and so with so and so, and then breed so and so2 with so and so to get *this move*).

Basically...Are Pichus, Picachus, and Raichus the ONLY pokes able to have "volt tackle"?

Also...I'm buying an E-reader from Ebay. Does anyone know where I can get an Aurora ticket, eon ticket, SOMETHING to use with the E-reader? It comes with nothing except a Donkey Kong card.

Thanks!

Yup, Pichu can only learn Volt Tackle as an egg move when you attach a Light Ball to one of the parent Pikachus/Raichus in the Day-Care Center. But only Pichu can learn it. This only works in Emerald.

Some games come with a weird card with a trainer on it. If you scan that in the E-Reader, you can battle that trainer through the locked door in the man's house in Mossdeep City, other than that, I dont really know
