3rd Gen Simple Questions (Ask Questions Here)

I'm in the Master ribbon contest on Sapphire & my Delcatty has a full good condition but when the audience saw my Pokemon, no hearts showed above anyone's heads. Why? I keep losing but in the lower contests they did...
It's quite simple. You didn't give good enough Pokéblocks to Delcatty.
The higher the rank contest, the more is required to get hearts.

Maybe this was posted before, but I need the exact mode to evlove Wurmple to Dustox and to Beautifly. I know you need something like this: Personality Value <= 4 for Beautifly. But how do I get that? Thanks in advance.

Shanecdavis, are u sure that the information u gave me about catching shiny Lati is correct? I am not too sure anymore, becuz I asked some people at SHC about it, one person had actually tried the exact same method, but it didn't work for him.

I don't understand why he would say it didn't work for him, other than he wasn't patient enough. Keep in mind that the odds of getting a shiny Poke are 1 in 8192. It is going to take hours and hours of resetting your game and tracking down that bird just to get one a different color. Definitely isn't worth it to me.

He wasn't trying to find it shiny, he was trying to find it with a different nature and different IVs, but it was the exact same every time.

I have yet another simple stupid question:

Where is the Shadow Ball TM obtained in R/S/E?

But my Delcatty doesn't eat anymore, it's perfect condition. That can't be right...

Anyone else? Question about why the audience in ribbon contest don't show hearts above their heads when my Delcatty comes out? It's perfect condition (tough, cute, smart, beauty & cool).

Ugh... it's not the amount of Pokéblocks that matters. It's the quality of the Pokéblocks.

A good Pokéblock should have a low feel and a high level.

Like, adding to Shorties' answer about the pokéblocks. You should also remember that the pokémon's nature also changes how much the attributes grow from the pokéblock. The key to this is to check which stat the pokémon's nature increases and which one it decreases;

Speed - Cuteness
Attack - Coolness
Sp.Attack - Beauty
Defense - Toughness
Sp.Defense - Smartness

A nature which increases one of these stats will also grant a boost to the corresponding attribute, while a nature that decreases a stat will reduce the attribute's growth. You should also note that if you're trying to feed a pokémon pokéblocks of a type it doesn't like the attribute won't be maxed out, regardless of how good your pokéblocks are. Finally, pokémon with neutral natures don't have likes or dislikes concerning pokéblocks. A pokémon with a neutral reaction to the pokéblock being fed must be fed only with high-quality pokéblocks while only a couple of high-quality pokéblocks and a lot of average ones are enough to max out the attribute if the pokémon in question likes said pokéblock.

Wow, I never knew how confusing this really was, I'm sort of with you...I'll have to check out it's nature, do you know which nature is best with which...style they have, say toughness. Which is best with which one of them?

I can't find out which is decreased just by looking at her states, the only say I'd know if I looked at another Delcatty but they're states are always different, not by much though, because for instance a Pikachu has good speed while Snorlax doesn't.

The natures are as follows:

Neutral
Hardy
Quirky
Docile
Serious
Bashful
Attack + (the decreased stat will be in parentheses)
Adamant (- Sp.Atk)
Brave (- Speed)
Lonely (- Defense)
Naughty (- Sp.Defense
+ Defense
Bold (- Atk)
Relaxed (- Speed)
Impish (- Sp.Atk)
Lax (- Sp.Defense
+ Speed
Jolly (- Sp.Atk)
Timid (- Atk)
Hasty (- Defense)
Naive (- Sp.Defense
+ Sp.Atk
Modest (- Atk)
Mild (- Defense)
Quiet (- Speed)
Rash (- Sp.Defense)
+ Sp.Defense
Calm (- Atk)
Gentle (- Defense)
Sassy (- Speed)
Careful (- Sp.Atk)

Let me get this straight, (do you actually understand this?) if I have a Jolly Pokemon, it's speed goes up which would make it better with cuteness, yes? Goodness help me if that's wrong! @_@

Jolly Natures Pokes like Sweet and hate Dry. Sweet Pokebloks increase Cute. The color Pokebloks you want are Pink, Brown, Indigo, and even Gold if you know what you are doing. I HIGHLY suggest you only blend berries with the Master Blender. Blending a Watmel or Magost berry with him will give you a Gold Pokeblok with a 55/48 (Lvl/Feel) ratio.

I know pink is sweet & they increase cuteness, but what about a mixed berry that increases two things (e.g. cute & cool)?

Jolly natures don't like or dislike pokeblocks

Serious, Quirky, Hardy and Bashful natures also
don't like or dislike any particular pokeblocks.

Question: should I use fly or aerial ace on my vibrava?
I would like to use fly since I can then travel places as well as a stronger attack.
But may get hit on its first turn.

Once again, mixing a Watmel or Magost berry with the Master Blender will give you GOLD Pokeblock with the highest Level/Feel. It raises Sweet and Smart.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER use Fly on a good Poke. Reserve that for some crappy HM slave. Also, Fly is not stronger than Aerial Ace. I am not sure why people keep saying that. While it is true that the it is 70 AP and AA is only 60 AP, it takes two turns to hit once, while you could have attacked twice with AA. Lastly, Fly is only 90% accurate, meaning you have two chances (the first time you use and the next turn) that the move will miss. AA, on the other hand, will hit EVERY TIME (as long as the opponent's Poke is on the screen). That means even with max evasion, AA will still hit.

Bottom line is that there is absolutely no comparison between the two. Aerial Ace every single time. Just say NO to Fly.
