Hi, I'm new to the forums.

Just wondering how come when I try to trade pokemon from FireRed to Emerald, it wont allow it? It says, "I'm sorry, we do not have th feature to trade from another region" or something like that? If its that I need to finish the game, then I understand, but if not, then why?

Also just curious, isn't Emerald based off of all the regions in Pokemon? (Such as Kanto, Johoto, Hoenn?)

Thanks for your answer, much appreciated.

That's because you haven't gotten the Ruby and Sapphire crystals on the Sevii Islands and fixed Celio's machine to allow you to trade between regions.

No, Emerald is just Hoenn.

I see....so then, when is Nintendo going to make a game that consists of all regions? Thats what I thought Emerald was ~.~

and lets see....i'm on my 6th badge, how far away am I to being able to trade between regions?

They haven't decided on one. If they did, it would take quite a lot of time for it to happen. Emerald is just Ruby/Sapphire combined in a way that incorporates both Team Aqua and Team Magma into it, as well as being able to get both Groudon and Kyogre in the same game.

You must have the National Dex which you can receive after the Elite Four. Then you're be invited back to the Sevii Islands a second time, in which you can go and look for both the Ruby and the Sapphire crystals to fix Celio's machine. So you're quite far away I'm afraid.

Where is the move tutor who teaches rock slide in FireRed?

I'm pretty sure you're asking how to get a swarm on Emerald. If you aren't tell me, and I'm sorry. I'll delete this post.

Okay, so to get a swarm on Emerald, well you don't make it happen. The game does it by itself, there's just a trigger that tells the game to up the frequency of appearance of a Pokemon that is a swarm Pokemon in a certain area. For example, Lotad will swarm only in one specific place, as opposed to Surskit swarming somewhere else.

So to see if there is a swarm, you have to walk into houses with TVs. If you haven't battled any of the News Crew Gaby & TY trainers recently, then the only other thing that can be on TV is your interview with the reporter at the Contest Hall, some useless news or a swarm alert. When it is a swarm alert, the TV will tell you exactly which Pokemon is swarming as well as in what area. They will specify what Route. Make sure you go there soon because you have a time limit as the swarm will, evidently, go away.

Happy Surskit catching~

Okay yeah. I'm familiar with the TV thing but you know that if you've played Pearl or Diamond, that there's the sister that you go to talk to each day and she'll tell you what and where the swarm is? Is there a specific TV in a specific house I can go to? I went to a ton of towns and watched a ton of TVs and none of them told me about the swarm. I got garbage about secret places, and some dud e who I can only guess was the rival of the guy that previously owned this game cartridge, but nothing about swarms. At least in Diamond I can go to a specific place to get my info, I thought Emerald would have that too.

Uggggghhh...I can't find the TV!

Is there a guide for this? Because unfortunately I cannot find a guide for it on gamefaqs? I really want a mew ~.~

All you need to do to get the National Dex in FRLG is catch 60 different kinds of Pokémon and defeat the E4. But if you want a Mew, you have to cheat/trade for it, and it only appears in Emerald.

And it only appears in Emerald if you have gone to the Nintendo event, which probably won't be happening again soon.

Oh...I thought there was something I needed to do in Emerald. I mean to say, I'm not the one with FR or LG, its my friend.

The TV that it appears on is random I'm afraid...

Towards the end of that is a section on the Sevii Islands, marked under number 6.

Thanks for the help ninja

One other question: Where is TM 30: Shadow Ball in FireRed?

Well....Its one of my problem too...when I found out that my Misdreavus cannot learn ShadowBall anymore (I own LG)
Anyway...Its in Celadon Game corner, I think you'll need 4000 - 6000 coins to get it

Emerald: I've activated the caves where the Regi are kept, but I can't get into the main room where the Regi stand. And I've lost my Instruction book with the Braille in it. Could someone please help?

And is it possible to get Groudon and Kyogre in Emerald? If so, where can I find them?

Thanks.

Groudon & Kyogre are both available in Emerald, yes. Once you take care of the business with Rayquaza and beat the Elite 4, head over to the Weather Institute and talk to the man on the (second?) floor. He'll tell you about an abnormal weather reading along a route, either sunlight for Groudon or rain for Kyogre. Head over to the route he mentions FAST and you'll find a new area along that route (you'll need Dive for Kyogre). Head in there and you'll find Kyogre/Groudon at level 70.

As for the Regis...there are FAQs that tell you what the braille means, but one requires Fly, one needs Cut, and...I forget the other one.

Misdreavus does learn Shadow Ball via TM. I'm not allowed to link to serebii though, I think the higher ups are afraid of losing members here...

Thanks for the info and all, but I'm not the one with Leaf Green or Fire Red. Its my friend.

Yes, only via TM 30 except in D/P when it becomes a move learnt via levelling up.
