Sinnoh Journey Journal v.2 - Share your travelling stories

Alright I finally got back to playing my Platinum game after getting some first priority things out of the way...here's what has happened so far:

- Returned to Jubilife City after defeating Roark
- Defeated off Team Galactic and entered the cool GTC and all its new features
- Ariived to Hearthome City, met the girl who talks about the Gracidea Flower...which reminds me I need to trade over my TRU SHaymin soon so I can get SKYMIN! :)
-Finally captured my 2nd pokemon for my team, Buizel, and did some training to its level will equal the same as my Grotle
-After training, defeated off Team Galactic again in Valley Wind Works, and got a chance to see the new4th Commander, Charon!
-Ventured off to Eterna Forest and met the nice Cheryl and he now LV. 20 Chancey, that surprised me a bit!
-Bumped into some unexpected pokemon while training, and caught a NEW unexpected but powerful member of my team, buneary!
-Traveled through Eterna Forest with Cheryl and got Buneary to the same level as my Grotle and Buizel
-Now I currently rest right outside of Eterna City waiting to see what happens next...

Current Team:

-Grotle lv.24
-Buizel lv.24
-Buneary lv.24

Until next time...

I KNOW! -_- that cheryl woman and her chansey are so worthless. all she does is softboil and throw eggs with it's worthless attack stat. Im trying to train a psyduck, and i forget about the pachirisu, and spark 2HKO's me. the only helpful thing that woman does is restore pokes after battle.

Its even more annoying when im trying to catch pokemon for my dex, and while im killing one so that i can catch the other, she kills the one I want to catch

yeah shes pretty useless. those pachirisu KOed my zubat too

You kill Cheryl's chancey first and then attempt a capture. That's how I do it.

Anyways,

Combusken finally evolved into Blaziken.
Currently training Pupitar =/

Finally beat Jupiter via repeated Endeavors courtesy of Staravia, and caught a few new pokemon after being given the Togepi egg by Cynthia. My current team:

Grotle
Gligar
Budew (knows cut, which is the only reason why it's in party)
zubat
Staravia
ponyta

and am currently going through mt. coronet

Today in Platinum, I did some more training, and started Wake's Gym. I haven't been doing much, lately though. I've been busy watching battle videos, and I'm wasting time getting random trades on the GTS just to get the wii message^^. Oh, I did manage to get a Matchup Checker from the girl in the Great Marsh's gate. I made out with 3 Wooper (2 I accidentally caught), a Yanma, a Carnivine, and 2 Tropius. I traded one Tropius on the GTS for a Chimchar, but I'm keeping the othe.

NO! Good lord, hax, why did you have to screw me over THEN of all times? I was on the battle right before the Frontier Brain in the Battle Factory. The battle went like this:
Enemy sent out Blastoise!
Go, Muk!
Enemy Blastoise used Double Team!
The foe's evasiveness rose!
Muk used Gunk Shot! (Blastoise loses nearly all of his health)
Enemy withdrew Blastoise! Enemy sent out Marowak!
Muk used Shadow Sneak! (does pitiful damage)
I switch in Dragonite...
Enemy Marowak used Thunderpunch! Dragonite is paralyzed!

It all went downhill from there...

Today I trained some of my Pokemon in Route 215. My Vaporeon and Kirlia got to level 30, meaning the Kirlia evolved to Gardevoir. I trained my Dratini and Sudowoodo a bit in Route 210, and my Jolteon in Route 209. Those three are a bit more difficult to train... although it's always nice when my Sudowoodo KO's a Chansey and gains 900 Exp points (I got him in a trade).

I visited the Trophy Garden, and the man in the mansion told me there were Bonsly there. So I took out Raiha, my trusty Raichu, and searched for a Bonsly. She also used Thief on every Kricketune she encountered, but got nothing from them... I encountered lots of Pichu and Pikachu for some reason, but no Bonsly. I even found two Happiny (and stole an Oval Stone from one), but after about twenty minutes of searching for Bonsly, I gave up.

I bought Platinum yesterday, and I began my adventure as a young girl named Jasmine. I was somewhat disappointed with the introduction, as I had to listen to a lecture instead of battling a Starly. I chose Chimchar as my starter. He was Relaxed, great. I was not planning on keeping him anyways, so I rushed to Sandgem, while catching a Shinx and Bidoof on the way, and traded from Diamond a Buizel and Scyther. I didn't realize that once they passed level 10, they disobeyed. I thought it was a bit later, so I was stuck with training Chimchar. Fascinating. I'm so bored of Chimchar because I've already played through with Chimchar and the others. I guess I can't use other pokemon just yet.

Today, I breezed through Jubilife and met Looker. He's interesting; however, I noticed an annoying addition in Platinum. A character walks or talks to you and gives you an item or tip when you would be "unsure" of what to do next. For God's sake, I was interrupted and asked to get a Pal Pad or an Explorer Kit. I feel like I'm being treated like a nub. XD;

Eh, you're all playing through so I don't want to describe the journey through Eterna, Floroama, etc, but I easily pwned Roark and Gardenia (I love her new gym design ^_^) with Chimchar/Monferno. Yes, Monferno. I have 2 badges and I'm in Hearthome and this is my team:

Monferno Level 32
Scyther Level 24
Buizel Level 23
Togepi Level 1

... Lucky Egg ftw. \o/

... Fantina's Gym is soooo cool but I'm having difficulty with it. Buizel keeps dying because he fails with his Water Gun, Scyther is EV trained but knows mostly bug moves, and Monferno will most likely go beast mode with Flame Wheel. The Togepi egg is nostalgic, but since it hatched as Brave, I may not use it. I've yet to decide on a final Platinum team, but I wanted pokemon that I've never used before, so yeah. I'm creating my own challenge. :3

Ugh, spent my morning hatching boxes of poochyena from a week ago. Finally got one with good IVs, and it had an egg move, thunder fang, as well as iron tail! I trained it up a bit on zubats so to get up its speed. At level 44 i couldnt be bothered doing anymore training, so i went out to Route 218 to chain Glameow. It broke on 34 by a shellos. D: After that i decided to hatch some Ralts, and theni got tired and couldnt do amymore. So i put my game into sleep, but am about to go catch me todays outbreak, Nosepass. I want to get some more Probopass, so i can trade them to my friends, who never seem able to find the so called mass outbreaks. I may as well go looking for feebas now, but thatll take me ages. Ill train my Gardevoir instead.

Just stomped gardenia and commander jupiter at eterna city with my golbat
getting ready to move out but training for a little bit. all while listening to kelly clarkson, yeah thats right

  • Bronzor refuses to evolve and its terrible Sp.ATK stat makes it have very little use other than Hypnosis. It knows Flash now, though. I guess it is it turn to hold the EXP. Share.
  • Aipom just evolved into Ambipom. Though its new Double Hit has a much higher hit chance and average damage than Fury Swipes, I will miss 5x Fury Swipes attacks bolstered by Tickle and Rock Smash.
  • Tropius has been a great member of my team so far. Though it has never used Sweet Scent once, its Fly ability has been indispensable to me. Its Stomp is mildly powerful. It just replaced Razor Leaf with Magical Leaf... That has been a real help in the fog area.
  • Since I don't have a Pokemon with Defog, I have been using Psyduck a lot for the route to Cynthia's hometown. His Cloud Nine ability negates the fog. In fact, Psyduck evolved into Golduck in that time too. I am reconsidering switching to Cloyster now since Golduck has really grown on me.
  • Monferno has been seeing less and less exposure to battle, since my other Pokemon are much stronger anyway.
  • I still haven't gotten a replacement for Luxray! Its Intimidate is just so useful and none of the other Pokemon can learn Electric attacks :(

just beat cyrus and saturn in veilstone. currently i dont know which of my pokemon i should deposit for bibarel since i'll need tons of hms to get up there (i hope i wont need surf)

team:
kricketune lv. 46
vespiquen lv. 44
wormadam lv. 45
dustox lv. 45
scyther lv. 47
yanmega lv. 47

Playing: Platinum
Objective: Traveling to Celestic Town
Current Team:
  • Infernape lv. 36
  • Luxray: lv. 36
  • Torterra: lv. 100

Torterra imported from my Pearl, So I can fly through the game.

Last night, I traded my newly hatched Togepi for a Glaceon from Diamond. I gave Glaceon some vitamins and TMs, such as Ice Beam and Shadow Ball, so I could take down Fantina. Thus, Fantina was an easy defeat, but I was sad to not see her lovely Driflblim. :c

Today, I head to Veilstone by taking the rainy route of 215. This is a great chance to level up my Buizel, as well as the rest of my team besides my fire type; however, I cannot allow the 3 traded ones to pass level 30. So, I train Monferno on Route 214 and he evolves at level 36. With my team prepared, I head to the Veilstone Gym.

Okay, so both Lucas and Crasher Wake are chilling by the Gym for no apparent reason.. o.o

Anyways, this gym design is interesting, but it took me a while to figure out the puzzle. My perspective is off, okay. XD; Anywho, hoping that this will be an easy battle, I approach Maylene..

My Current Team

Battle Highlights

- My Glaceon vs Her Meditite: This was easy, as I simply fired an Ice Beam and it faints.
- My Scyther vs Her Machoke: I start off with Swords Dance (as my other attacks are Bug/Fighting, which aren't very useful). Before dying, her Machoke manages to dwindle my HP bar to yellow by using Rock Tomb.
- My Scyther vs Her Lucario: Okay, I'm retarded for staying in, but hey, I had Attack +2. I attempt to use U-Turn to switch out, but before I could strike, Lucario attacks with Metal Claw and Scyther faints.
- My Glaceon vs Her Lucario: Um, I realize that Ice is weak to Fighting.. Fail. Lucario uses Force Palm, and as Glaceon holds on with a thread, she uses Ice Beam, which does decent damage. Luckily, Ice Beam freezes Lucario. Take that, ye kangaroo. @_@
- My Infernape vs Her Lucario: I switch out Glaceon to Infernape and Lucario thaws out. Wtf, my first time freezing something with Glaceon and it doesn't even stay frozen. -_- I must teach that mongrel a lesson, so I use Close Combat and annihilate him. Yush, I won, even though this format is confusing. :B

So with my 4th Badge, I wonder where to go next.. I need to decide whether to evolve Buizel (Floatzel is ugly but Buizel keeps fainting..) and which 2 pokemon I want for the last slots in my team. Oh, I need a Flying type.. Hmm.. I have nothing in mind. Since Crasher Wake is the next Gym Leader, I'll need an Electric/Grass.. Umm.. Tropius comes to mind! : D

After defeating Commander Mars at Valley Windworks in Platinum, I crossed the bridge on Route 205. After battling some trainers, my Pokémon and I rested inside a little red house. I then continued north in to Eterna Forest.

In Eterna Forest, I was confronted by a trainer named Cheryl who asked if I would travel through Eterna Forest with her because of a fear of Team Galactic. I accepted and we made our way through Eterna Forest using a Lv. 20 Chansey (Cheryl) and a Lv. 16 Zubat (me). After every battle, her Chansey would heal my Pokémon. After many double battles, Cheryl and I arrived at the end of Eterna Forest. She thanked me and we both departed.

Back on Route 205, I battled some fisherman and raised all my Pokémon to Lv. 20 (except for Abra who I evolved in to a Kadabra by raising her to Lv. 16). Finally, I arrived in Eterna City.

In Eterna City, Nick greeted me and took me to see the town's statue which showed a legendary Pokémon. After he left, I met a girl named Cynthia who had previously been helping Professor Rowan's research by completing the Pokédex, like myself. She gave me HM01 - Cut. Then a girl in the town's Pokémon Center gave me an application for my Pokétch called a Friendship Checker which identifies how much the Pokémon on your team like you. So far, my results are:

Grotle: ♥♥
Staravia: ♥♥
Bibarel: ♥♥
Luxio: ♥♥
Kadabra: ♥♥
Zubat:

Next, a man named Underground Man gave me an Explorer Kit which instantly takes you to Sinnoh's Underground. I tried it out and was greeted underground by Roark. I couldn't find much to do, so I went back up. Inside the Eterna Condominiums, an old lady on the second floor gave me TM67 - Recycle. Finally, I headed to Eterna's Pokémon Gym.

I easily took down Eterna's Pokémon Gym which specializes in grass Pokémon with Staravia and Zubat using Wing Attack. After defeating the Gym Leader, Gardenia, I was rewarded with the Forest Badge which allows you to use Cut outside of battle. Gardenia also gifted me with TM86 - Grass Knot. Next, I headed to Team Galactic's recently built building.

Before I entered Team Galactic's building, I picked up TM46 - Thief. Inside, I defeated a couple Galactic Grunts before battling another Team Galactic commander, Commander Jupiter. The battle was very intense, and I barely won with my Staravia. After Commader Jupiter's defeat, Team Galactic left Eterna City. A man who had been captured by Team Galactic who owned the town's bike shop thanked me for saving his Pokémon that had been stolen by Team Galactic. I followed him to his bike shop, and he rewarded me with a gear-changing Bicycle. I then rode my new Bicycle on to Route 211.

On Route 211, I battled some trainers, picked up some items including TM12 - Taunt, and caught some wild Pokémon. I also explored what I could of Mt. Coronet for some more items. Finally, I went back to Eterna City and continued my adventure on Route 206.

In the city gate, Dawn's father, one of Professor Rowan's assistants, examined my Pokédex and happily gave me an Exp. Share (of course, right after I evolved my Abra >_<). Then I hopped on my Bicycle and cruised down Cycling Road, battling every trainer I could. In the next transit gate, a girl gave me a decorative Flag which I put in my Fashion Case. Outside, I collected more items, caught wild Pokémon, and battled other trainers like usual. I also tried to explore Wayward Cave, but it got too challenging without Flash. Finally, I went back to Oreburgh City to heal my Pokémon at the Pokémon Center and continued on Route 207.

On Route 207, after battling some trainers, Dawn greeted me and gave me a Vs. Seeker. In addition, she also gave me a Dowsing Machine application for my Pokétch which helps you locate invisible items. I then continued down Route 207 and entered Mt. Coronet.

In Mt. Coronet, a man with blue hair who I had seen before talked to me about Sinnoh's history before exiting. There wasn't much else to do, so I left as well on to Route 208.

On Route 208, I did the same routine; battled trainers, caught wild Pokémon, and collected items including an Odd Keystone. I also entered a house that belonged to a man named The Berry Master who gives trainers, such as myself, a new berry daily. The little girl in the house also gave me a Berry Searcher application for my Pokétch. After that, I continued east and finally arrived in the beautiful Hearthome City.

When I arrived in Hearthome City, I noticed a Pokémon running towards me. It bumped in to me and a girl named Keira came and thanked me for stopping her Pokémon from running away. As a thanks, she told me to come to the Contest Hall, so she could reward me. I then went to the Pokémon Fan Club where I received a Poffin Case from the chairman. Next I got a Shell Bell from a lady inside the building next to the Pokémon Fan Club. After that, I went to the town's Poffin House and experienced making my first Poffin. That's when I learned that I am not a Poffin maker. xD Then I went in to a house that belonged to a girl named Bebe who is the admin of the Pokémon Box storage system. Bebe gave me an Eevee which she had gotten from her friend in another region. Finally, I went to the Contest Hall where I saw Keira again with... my mom?! Keira rewarded me with Glitter Powder for my Fashion Case, and my mom explained about contests before giving me a Tuxedo to enter contests in. My mom left, and I talked to a man who gave me a Mild Poffin. I ended up entering some contests with my Eevee. My favorite contest is dancing. After that, I talked to the town's Gym Leader who was in the Contest Hall, and she went back to her Gym. I also tried walking through Amity Square with my Grotle.

All of this happened yesterday when I played Platinum for 7 hours straight. o_o I am now training all my Pokémon up to Lv. 25 in preparation for the town's Gym. I was planning on catching Drifloon today, but Floaroma Town is too far away, so I'm not even going to bother until I can use Fly. xP

Well in pokemon Platinum:

I got the game played it and reached some quite few bits.
I met Barry my rival, and went through all the long beginning.

Now here's the real action:

I chose Chimchar for a change and started a journey. A journey I will not rush through and a journey I will find my favorite pokemon in. I caught a Shinx and trained them both to level 11. I battle the 3 trainers and boy were my pokemon at it. They should be incredible pokemon fighting their best, instead they were spectacular!!! :D They fought hard and beat them like nothing. Before all that I had battled Barry and Barry was flushed red when I won with little chimmy. When I caught Chimchar and Shinx I was very happy and I new this was goign to be an exciting adventure.

So I reached Jubilife City and boy did it look way different than usual. It was a beautiful setting. I headed off to go to the trainer school when all of a sudden Lucas came and showed me to the trainers school. But before he could a man walking pole to pole we saw.

He said something under his tongue and talked quite a bit to us. He was a person working for a hard place. He told me to be on the lookout for bad guys too. So I went on and delivered the parcel to Barry at the trainers school, with Lucas back on his way to fill out his pokedex. He had 2 maps and gave me one. Then
ZOOM! He went on his way like always.
I battled the trainers in there, and they all had new pokemon! But after that I obtained the TM and set off to the grass area...

There I trained and battled quite good battlers there. My Shinx and Chimchar were doing great, I couldn't be more satisifed! When they reached lv. 14 I decided to head off to good ol' Oreburgh. But then...THUD! Barry of course, was there. We battled and once again I won. I was very proud he said something very fast and scurried away. I pondered for a minute thinking of what pokemon to catch. Then I just decided to let pokemon appear to me and I will see. So I trained to v. 16 and went off to Oreburgh.

When I reached once again I met Barry. He told me he got his 1st gym badge. Then he scurried away like always and I met Roark at the mine. He showed me how to use rock smash and went back to his gym. So I trained and trained and obtained all the items, all in Oreburgh. When I reached lv. 19 I decided to battle him. I won the battle and I got...my first gym badge.

I went back to Jubilife and ran into the mysterious guy again. He talked to me for a while and I decided to take a rest from the game for a litte. This is my journey so far, and there are going to be many more by me yet to see.

My Team:

Monferno: Lv. 20 or 21?
':D
Flame Wheel
Scratch
Taunt
Leer ( I think ':D)

Luxio: Lv. 20 or 21 ':D
Spark
Bite
Tackle
Charge

Until next time! :D
