Yesterday was another good day for the PokeGreats.

First off, my slightly underleveled team head to Iron Island, to find Riley. After finding him, we do a lot of double battles, until al of my team is at Level 40. We go to fight Team Galactic, which was so easy it wasn't worth the Exp. I leave Riley, with no space for the Riolu egg, which I'll pick up later.

On Saturday, I defeated Byron's trainers, so today is straight to Roark's father himself. First, he sends out Bronzor, which suffers at the hand of my Charizards Fire Blast. Next up is Bastiodon, using Rest to regain his health. All of Fire Blast wasted, and a few Dragon Rages later, and the defence machine is down. Out comes Byrons secret weapon, and out comes my Graveler. Graveler uses Earthquake on Steelix, sending it into yellow health. Steelix pathetically uses Rock Polish (or some other weak attack), and Graveler EQs Steelix to fainting point. I win the Mine Badge - and Level 70 Pokemon will obey me. All in all, a good day for Team PokeGreats!

Team PokeGreats:

Charizard Lv. 41
Blastoise Lv. 41
Graveler Lv. 40
Vibrava Lv. 40
Poliwhirl Lv. 40
Alakazam Lv. 40

Today's Plans: Go to Lake Acuity to help my rival.

I broke my record of 14 Cascoon by chaining 35 Floatzel before it was randomly broken by a stupid Bibarel. -_- No shinies. : (

But I can look on the bright side, I'm getting used to chaining and I got up that high whereas when I first started just over a week ago I could barely surpass 5. XD

I was randomly running around the Sendoff Spring to catch pokes (Caught 4 Noctowl, three LV.53, one LV.54, Quiet/Brave/Adamant/Jolly, a LV.54 Rash Chimecho, and a Lax LV.54 Golduck), then I went to Route 222 and caught a LV.40 Bashful Gastrodon. Next, I'll go to Route 228, and catch a Cacturne.

I've long since finsihed the game. (The Elite Four was hell.)

Currently I'm leveling up my Pokemon in preperation for Pokemon Battle Revolution. Sadly, I don't have Wi-fi so I can't do any online battles.

I'm also growing a lot of berries, speaking of which <goes off to DS to check on berries>

I'm currently chaining Ditto. Got a chain of 5 going right now, catching as many as I can, hopefully can get a vast spread of different natured ones. They will be used for breeding purposes. Still waiting to find an adamant one which is the one I'm really looking for so I can breed a brand new Machop.

I just recently defeated the elite four...it was really disappointing. I took them all out with a single golduck and just a few healing items. I have gone and goten myself plenty of Eevee's though. I enjoy how easy they are to find. I have trouble with catching them though. One popped out of about 15 ultra balls, even when it was down to less than 5% on health. ><

I've restarted the game and now I just got the Forest Badge with Lapras and Quilava.

And caught Pachirisu, Shellos and Buizel before Eterna Forest. Quite a day. (^_^)v

Pokemon Pearl Journal: End of the Safari

November 6, 2007

Yeah, haven't been training much lately. At this point I'm almost done training this current pokemon team. But today I had Azurill out of its pokeball just watching as I trained with Skorupi and Carnivine. This evening, Azurill evolved into Marill! Now its ready for some training of its own.

89. Marill

November 9, 2007

I went to the Pokemon Center in Pastoria and stored all my pokemon, keeping only Marill with me. It's time to go back to the Safari Zone and catch a Croagunk. First thing this morning I went to the observation deck to see if the Croagunk were roaming anywhere today. I spotted a few sitting around the little lake in Area 4. So I paid my money and took the tram to that area. I found quite a few, but most of them seemed to be very skittish and ran away quickly. Even bait they seemed to run from. My time ran out TWICE, and I was unsuccessful in catching one.

So late that night, very late, I decided to give it one more try. I paid the admission fee, headed to the area, and wouldn't you know the second pokemon I came across was a Croagunk! I took my chances and threw a Safari Ball, and it worked this time! Not only have I finally caught a Croagunk, with this I'm now done with the Safari Zone I hate so very much.

90. Croagunk

Also of note, I've now surpassed the 200 hour mark of game time. It's funny and sad all at the same time...

November 10, 2007

Now that I'm done searching for pokemon in the Safari Zone, it's time to think about where to go next. That Team Galactic Grunt from a few weeks ago headed east from Pastoria, so I guess I could see what's out that way. So Marill, Croagunk and I went out to Route 213.

Not far from town, I came across a Shellos, except this one was blue. According to the Pokedex, Shellos' colors depend on their habitat; Shellos from west Sinnoh are pink, while Shellos from east Sinnoh are blue. I like the blue coloring better, so I decided to try to catch it. I had Marill use Water Gun to weaken it just slightly, then tossed a pokeball. Shellos is mine! I went back to the pokemon center to let it rest from the battle.

Meanwhile, I decided to add another pokemon to my team. It's been awhile since I trained with Blissey, so I had it transferred to the Pokemon Center. Then it was back to Route 213. I came across I small cottage that belonged to an interesting fellow named Dr. Footprints. He claims to be able to describe how pokemon feel based on the footprints they leave in the sand. Ok. I let out all 4 of my pokemon and let him take a look. He said Marill and Blissey felt strong friendship with me, and awarded them each a ribbon! Croagunk and Shellos didn't express as much feeling, but of course I just caught them. I thanked him and moved on.

Continuing from my above post I am still trying to find an adamant Ditto that can be used for breeding purposes. I have found plenty of Lax, Hardy and Docile ones :\ and also got a few more useful ones like Modest, but still no adamant one yet. I will get there soon enough!

The usual evil-destroying day for PokeGreats...

The team started off in Snowpoint Gym, ready to battle Candice. Graveler, the underrated, Charizard, the leader, and Alakazam, the silent but strongest, all took control of this gym. My weakest member, Vibrava, fainted, but other than that I pretty much scraped through.

I head toward Lake Acuity, where Jupiter mocks my rival, Joel, on such an easy defeat. Quickly, she escapes to Veilstone HQ, me eagerly following. I dust my way through Galactic HQ, with Vibrava evolving into the almighty FLYGON!

Off I go against Cyrus, easier than I originally thought. His Pokemon are easily taken down by my Poliwhirl, Alakazam, and Blastoise, and then I go through to Commander Saturn. I set free Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, and head for Mt. Coronet. I might change plans, and catch the three Pixies before I continue on to rescue Dialga, and conquer Cyrus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, once and for all.

Team PokeGreats:

Charizard Lv. 46
Poliwhirl Lv. 45
Blastoise Lv. 45
Flygon Lv. 45
Graveler Lv. 44
Alakazam Lv. 46

Tomorrows Goals: Capture Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit - get through Mt. Coronet.

Your reading the tale of a very happy trainer right now! I got my highest chain yet of 54, and in that chain found 2 shiny Phanpys! One modest and the other relaxed. Delighted with that. I have really got the hang of chaining now and feel confident of coming out with a shiny whenever I chain.

I got a new HM slave, a LV.53 Bibarbel (sp?). :P

I'll go after a Lapras later, at the moment, I'm too tired.

The best day for PokeGreats EVER! (albeit being slightly fainteyish...

Me and my Pokemon start off at the entrance to Mt. Coronet, preparing to start our journey. As Graveler decides to go out first, we set off, running away from wild Pokemon, until we reach the Grunts...

Graveler and Charizard sweep through the Grunts, eventually swapping Charizard and Graveler around. We reach Sky Pillar (?), where we easily take down two more battles. Bravely, me and my team walk toward Mars and Jupiter, where I am assisted by Joel, my rival. The showdown begins!

Charizard and Munchlax!
Charizard takes out the first Bronzor, whilst Munchlax uses Screech...out comes Mars' Golbat, Charizard taking care of that, Munchlax still Screeching...Charizard uses a constant Flamethrower on Mar's new attacker - Purugly - which takes down Munchlax, just as Munchlax takes down the other Bronzor...out comes Rivals' Heracross, and Jupiter's Golbat...

Charizard and Staraptor!
Heracross is easily conquered by the Golbat, so out comes Staraptor. Whilst Charizard drains Purugly, Staraptor defeats Golbat! Unfortunately, Jupiter's Skuntank is out next, fatefully destroying Staraptor...

Flygon and Empoleon!
By now, Charizard is running low on health after taking lots of hits, so I make a tactical substitution for Flygon! Joel sends out Ponyta, who uses FireBlast on Skuntank! Unfortunately, Skuntank is still live and kicking, and kicks Ponyta straight out the battle, with Poison Jab (or something...) So my stupid rival Joel sends out Empoleon, his FOURTH Pokemon...Flygon finally finishes off Purugly, leaving Skuntank on his own...as Empoleon is drained of health, AND confused, Flygon watches on in suspense...luckily, Empoleon gets his head screwed on, using Aqua Jet to destroy Mars and Jupiter! My rival bids farewell...healing my Pokemon, as me and my team challenge Cyrus...

Boss Battle: Versus Cyrus
Out comes his Honchknrow against my Charizard..a critical hit of a Flamethrower, and Honchkrow is out for the count! Out comes Cyrus' Gyarados, and I substitute Charizard for my Alakazam. Despite his best efforts, Alakazam wittles down Gyarados' health, but loses all of his own...so I send out Blastoise, finishing off Gyarados with Surf! Cyrus sends out Crobat, me switching to Graveler, after Blastoise gets confused... It is a hit and miss here, as Graveler uses Rollout to get Crobat's health down...unfortunately, a lucky hit from Crobat sends Graveler fainting...Out comes my Poliwhirl, the silent but strong, ready to kick some! Poliwhirl defeats Crobat, but he is defeated by Weavile's almighty Brick Break! My third goes down, as I send out my last Pokemon to battle, Flygon. My 'saviour' Flygon, never one to faint, uses a quick few Dragon Claws, sending Weavile to the hospital! Team PokeGreats win, using the MasterBall to catch Dialga! A great, but sore day for the team...

Team PokeGreats:

Charizard Lv. 48
Graveler Lv. 46
Flygon Lv. 46
Blastoise Lv. 46
Poliwhirl Lv. 45
Alakazam Lv. 47

Tomorrows Aims: Capture Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit!

I've been hunting Lapras, I've seen two so far, both "got away" (Perish Song T_T ).

Pokemon Pearl Journal

November 15, 2007

I spent the last few days training Marill, Croagunk, Shellos, and Blissey. Blissey mostly stayed on the sidelines and supported the team with Softboiled to heal them. This evening, Shellos started to evolve! It's now a Gastrodon, and adds ground-type to its water type, which will make its Mud Shot attack more powerful, as well as making it immune to electric attacks.

91. Gastrodon

This also marks the 100th pokemon I've "seen" in Sinnoh.

So I went back to the pokemon center, and gave the whole team a rest. I was scanning through all my other stored pokemon, as was trying to decide who to take with me. Come to think of it, I never trained with Spiritomb even though I caught it months ago. So I had it transferred to me, as well as my Murkrow. Then, it was back to Route 213. I decided to do some fishing on the beach there. It wasn't long before I fished up a Remoraid, and then caught it! I don't think I ever caught a Remoraid before, except maybe in the Orre Region but even then I don't think I trained it enough. So this should be interesting, at least.

92. Remoraid

On Wednesday I caught my second shiny via chaining and my third shiny overall, Bidoof. ^_^

Also, for the past two days my chains have been broken randomly when I walk into the Pokemon I'm chaining. o_O This is probably normal but I'm just a chaining newbie. =P

Today was a very eventful day. Me and my friend traded over my Graveler, and he gave me a Palkia as a special gift! I was very happy with this, seems as I can't get Palkia in Diamond. With my friend, Graveler evolved into a tough Golem, which was traded back to me! I thank my friend, leaving Wi-Fi, to look at my Palkia. As I inspect, I realise he has a Water Stone! Of course, this means that it is going to be used -- on Poliwhirl! My evolution rounds out the trading session, as my new Poliwrath stands before me. Thanks to the same friend, I have three MasterBalls, so I decide to go for the pixies. I catch Azelf first, closely followed by Uxie. As I get to Mesprit, she flees, with Professor Rowan telling me I should do after it. I fly to Pastora City, making my way to Sunyshore City from there. On the way, I meet many tough trainers, but my team scrapes through. I met up with Flint, and talked to Volkner at the Lighthouse, aswell as speaking to Jasmine on the beach. I head for the Gym, where I battle the first Trainer. Tomorrow, my Golem will play the most important part in getting the Beacon Badge.

Team PokeGreats:

Charizard Lv.48 (Dragon Rage, Cut, Flamethrower, Fly)
Golem Lv.47 (Magnitude, Earthquake, Rollout, Explosion)
Flygon Lv.47 (Dragon Claw, DragonBreath, Crunch, Rock Smash)
Blastoise Lv.47 (Surf, Blizzard, Bite, Skull Bash)
Alakazam Lv.47 (Psybeam, Psychic, Trick, Grass Knot)
Poliwrath Lv.47 (Surf, Wake-Up Slap, BubbleBeam, Strength)

Just went to the Old Chateau. (In the morning?! What's wrong with me?!) After about 15minutes, I ran into a Gengar. Took 20 minutes to catch. Miltank on Route 209. Still chaining. My main focus is a shiny Roselia. Caught every Pokemon that swarmed, but still waiting for more. Also, Smoochum was swarming for all of last week. Really annoying. Tonight, I'm going back to the Chateau. Maybe something will strike me. (Hopefully, not a book xD)

Had a good day today.

Took out Volkner, my rival, and Aaron and Bertha of the Elite Four. I challenged Flint, but his Rapidash somehow managed to kill my Poliwrath T_T

I'm going to continue later, when I'm in the mood.

Charizard Lv.51
Blastoise Lv.51
Alakazam. Lv.49
Golem Lv.52
Poliwrath Lv.52
Flygon Lv.51

Last Sunday i had a fresh but feeble Gyarodos LV 21. Took my chances by giving her surf and taking her to Iron Rock, she could KO ANY Graveler. One week later she's lv 50.

The most amazing thing? Even at level 50, it is still more time, PP and enemy selection efficient to slaughter the Gravelers at Iron Rock than it is to go it out in Victory Road. Found that in Ruby aswell, unless i could kill pretty quickly, i was better outside Victory Road.
