Okay...now that I'm finally putting this up. I hate my electricity provider...we kept losing it...and I can't get MS word on this computer. Sorry it took so long, I hope I'm still alright...so here it is!
Name: Samuel "Sam" Raiko
Age:13
Appearence: Sam has ebony black hair with a few dark brown streaks. His hair goes down to just above his neck. He has light blue eyes, but his hair often covers his them, causing them to appear darker in color than they actually are. His body is fairly well built, though not too far above average for a boy his age. There is a little more muscle visible, but not too much. Some small frown lines cross his face from the constant scowl that seems to rest there. Putting all this together, Sam honestly doesn't look half bad. His pale skin, however, acts as a complete opposite to his hair, causing him to appear a bit strage at times. Sam weighs in at 120 pounds, but most of that weight is his muscle.
In terms of clothing, Sam is geared towards the basics. He has a dark blue ninja uniform with short sleeves reaching his elbow. His left arm is bare, but his right arm is wrapped in bandages which no one other than Sam knows the reason for. His hands have thin, fingerless gloves to provide protection while maintaining his maximum movement. He wears shorts down to just below his knees with bandages wrapped around both legs to provide support. He has sandles on his feet which allow high speed movement with little to no trouble.
Personality: Sam is rather cold hearted. He doesn't like to put his trust in people because he fears they may betray it or let him down. Despite his cool and calm outer appearence, Sam is actually rather insecure. He is often crying when there is no one around to hear him. He misses his family and wishes they were still there every day of his life. He wishes everyone didn't treat him differently just because of who he was and because his family isn't there. Its the fact that they don't accept him that makes Sam feel so bitter at the world. He appears to hate every living thing, but he actually cares a lot more than anyone but he knows. If you really get to know him, though, Sam's actually a really nice guy. He watches out for all his friends and cares for them as best he can. He's a really kind and loving person under all his hate and just wishes the world would know that. The ones who do, his only friends, are the ones he cares about most, seeing as they are like the family he no longer has to him.
Pokemon: Surprise me...I guess.
History: Sam led a normal life early on. His family easily balanced learning, training and playing with his family, knowing that it was the best way to move him into his training. Sam learned quickly, excelling at planning fights but not doing as well in actually executing them. Sam learned many things during this time. He learned about his clan's traditions, his enemies and why he couldn't trust anyone but his family. He also learned of his clan's bloodline trait, but he was also taught that he wouldn't inherit that ability just yet. Among his lessons, he was taught that his one true enemy was anyone in the region of Sinto. His life was peaceful for a long time, but all good things come to an end, and this was no different.
For a long time, the Raiko Clan had been forming alliances within its own branches. In the end, there were two main alliances. One remained loyal to the Hoeto village, where they owed their loyalty to. The other, however gave their alliegence to the Sinto region on a promise of more power and wealth. As these two alliances clashed, a civil war quickly ensued. During this was, the group loyal to Hoeto gained the early advantage by using their gift to alter the weather with extremely large charges, causing large lightning storms. After the Sinto group figured this out, however, the war took a back spin. A stalemate occured for a while, but only until the strongest group in the Raiko clan picked their side. The Sinto side. This powerful group was well known as the Raikou Squad in the name of the legendary dog of lightning. They quickly turned the tides and destroyed most of the Hoeto side. The 15 of them destroyed Sam's home village and he was put into hiding. After the attack, 14 of the squad left and one stayed to search for survivors. He found Sam and his family members. While his family members were killed, Sam fought back. The Raikou Squad member was certain that a kid like Sam had no chance, but what he didn't realize was that Sam's gift was activated by his hatred. Sam had but one kunai on him compared to the squad member's arsenal, but he had the advantage of surprise. With an electrified kunai throw, the squad member met a swift end thanks to Sam's surprise. To this day, Sam is the only one known to kill a member of the Raikou Squad.
After the war, Sinto double crossed the remaining clan members, killing all but the Raikou Squad. Now they live in Sinto as a group of powerful assassins. Sam is the last Raiko in the Hoeto village. He was adopted for a year, but he rebelled and was moved into living in a small apartment on his own. This was all the same year Sam started at the Hoeto Ninja Academy, training through all his days.
Region: Hoeto
Clan: The Raiko Clan. They are a clan known for their unorthodox ability to control lightning and electricity. With enough energy, they can cause small storms and cause someone's body to become temporarily paralyzed. They ruled a large part of Hoeto long ago, but over the years, their strength faded. Now only 15 members of the clan live, only one remaining in the Hoeto region.
Rank: Rookie
Weapons of choice: Sam functions with the most basic of weapons a majority of the time. His personal favorites are shuriken and kunai, as they allow him to easily charge the metal with electricity and they are easy to throw. While these are nice weapons for Sam, his personal favorite will always be his clan's weapon, the forearm blades. They attach to his forarms to cause cuts when used. They are often charged with electricity to extend their range and cause a large amount of damage. These are the weapons Sam perfers to function with, as they are the weapons he learned about as a Raiko ninja.
Bloodline Trait: Lightning Emission-the ability to emit lightning from one's body at the expense of energy. All members of the Raiko clan eventually inherit this ability, though all at different levels. It is a very versitile technique, as there are multiple ways to use this ability. The most common is to use it to release it with slashing attacks. The most common age for developing it is 12, but it is not always the age they recieve it at.
Sam, however, developed it out of rage at 9. When his family was killed, he fought back, killing one of their murderers. Sam charged a weapon and threw it, killing them. This is a very rare attack in the clan as many can't use it. Sam, as a result of his early awakening, has several problems with his ability. First, he uses a lot more energy than most do while using this attack. Second, he is still only learning, so the powerful attacks the Raiko are known for are still just out of his reach. Finally, Sam doesn't fully understand his ability, so there are things about it he just perfers not to use.
Strengths: Sam is very good at planning attacks and creating tactics. He was always gifted at analyzing opponents and creating strategies around it, just as he did with his family.
Weakness: Sam has trouble with executing his tactics in battle to fight his opponent. He never was very good at this and is constantly working to improve this.
Want the war to end: Sam wants the war to end, yes, but he knows it is unlikely, so he steels his mind and goes on with the fact that it is unlikely to end any time soon.

Spoiler:
The ball clicked. Sam and Vul both smiled. They had done it, they had caught a Shellder. Sam smiled, but suddenly became shockingly aware of his surroundings. It was dark. That was a long battle...a really long one. Sam walked over to pick up the pokeball, but it dissapeared as he touched it. He smiled, remembering what that meant. It was with Maple now. Still, he'd be there to switch out soon.
"Dang...well, good job, Vul!" Sam said, hugging Vul. Vul smiled and happily purred. Sam loved it when Vul was this happy. He heard a little bit of singing, and Iggly suddenly appeared. She was hopping towards Sam.
"Aww...here, Iggly. Why don't you play with Vul, Pika, Pidg and Umbre for a while? Gyara and I are gonna go for a nightime ride before bed. We need it. Have fun!" Sam said, tossing out all his pokemon. 4 more appeared and Sam knew this was gonna be a good night.
While five of his pokemon played on the deck, Sam hopped on Gyara and the two sped off. The sunset was beautiful. It brought back memories. Memories of his more peaceful childhood. His days when his family was still friendly to him. This brought back still more, as he remembered what the black clad man said, as this referred to the reason he ran. Now that he thought about it...why did he run? As much as he thought about it, it hurt his brain. It hurt, but things slowly came back to him. An arguement...his dreams...and then him just running. Now he remembered. His family hadn't wanted him to go through with his dream to become a trainer, so he ran away. Still, usually he would just argue it a little more and try harder to get it. It just didn't seem like him to run away like that. During all this, he hadn't noticed as a Tentacruel had snuck up on him.
"TENTA!" it cried as it shot what appeared to be spikes at Gyara.
"Crap! Toxic Spikes! Gyara get out of the...NO!" he yelled a second too late. Gyara had been hit. The spikes were lodged. Gyara was quickly taking damage. They were stuck in him!
"GGYYYYYAAAAAAARRRRRR.....RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...do...s..." Gyara said, weakening with every sound. Sam had to be fast. He had recently done some practice with Pidg, so Pidg could carry him about a hundred feet. The boat was...maybe 75? He could probably get there.
"Pidg! Help me out!" Sam yelled. Nothing happened for a second, but then Pidg came flying across the water.
"Pidgo!" Pidg screeched, reaching Sam.
"Great! Ready? We're gonna have to do this fast! Go, fly me to the boat as quick as you can!" he yelled. Pidg picked him up by his shoulders. Sam quickly returned Gyara to the pokeball. Tentacruel looked at him and shot a beam of bubbles.
"Dang! Bubblebeam?! Strong little Tentacruel...quick!" Sam yelled. Pidg nodded and flew towards the boat. It was slow, but they got there. Now on deck, Sam quickly ran to the communication room. Grabbing the video phone's phone, he dialed the one number he knew might be able to help...
"Hello?" Professor Maple asked, picking up the phone.
"Professor Maple! I need your help! Gyara's injured and I'm not sure how long he can hold on...please! Help me!" Sam yelled.
"Calm down, Sam. Now, what exactly happened?" Professor Maple asked.
"Well, we were out on a ride when we were attacked by a tentacruel. It was able to hit him with Toxic Spikes, which are causing him a slow and painful defeat!" Sam yelled. Maple thought for a second.
"Okay. Send him over quickly. We might be able to help, but he'll be unable to fight for...a couple of weeks. Don't worry, he'll be ready to go before the tournament, but only if you hurry!" Maple yelled. Sam nodded and put the ball in a nearby teleporter. It dissapeared. Sam was about to say thanks, but then he realized something. His newest pokemon might be able to help...
"Professor Maple...can you send over that Shellder I just caught? Is it healed?" Sam asked.
"Of course its healed! And yes, I can. Quickly, then? You'll have to fight hard, Sam. You know that, I assume. Well, here you go," she said, shoving a ball into the machine. It dissapeared.
A pokeball appeared on Sam's end. He grabbed it and ran.
"Hang up the phone! Good luck!" Maple yelled. Sam quickly ran back and put it on, thanking her quickly. He ran back up onto deck where many sailors were having their pokemon fight the Tentacruel. Sam looked around for the captain. He spotted him and an Eevee using Shadow Ball up on the main deck. He quickly ran up.
"Captain! What's wrong?" Sam asked. The captain turned to him.
"Its attacking us! Its strong and I'm not sure we can handle it...whoa!" the captain said as a tentacle crashed into the boat, knocking the contents of Sam's bag everywhere. His Thunderstone flew forward.
"A Thunderstone? Please! Trade me it for my Water Stone! I beg of you! If you do, we might survive!" the man yelled. Sam thought about it a second. If he kept it, Pika could evolve. If he didn't, the man could get a Jolteon and easily win. Come to think of it...he really didn't want Pika to evolve. Pika could easily beat a Raichu, as he proved back at the Vermillion Gym. Sam wasn't about to give in just for power.
"Sure. Here," Sam said, handing the man the Thunderstone. He gratefully took it and handed Sam a Water Stone in exchange. The man quickly touched his Eevee with it. It started to glow...and change shape. A few seconds later, the glowing stopped and a Jolteon now sat there.
"Okay...you should be able to use it now! THUNDERSHOCK!" the man yelled. Jolteon built electricity up in its body and launched it forward at an incredibly high speed. Sam was amazed how strong the newly evolved pokemon was and how well it handled its strength.
"Okay then! I know you're new to my team, but I'm counting on you! Shellder!" Sam yelled. The purple shelled pokemon came out and looked around. It quickly sighted Sam.
"Okay. I know you're new, but I trust you completely, Shellder. Ready to fight this Tentacruel?" Sam asked. Shellder looked nervous for a second, but a bit of confidence quickly appeared.
"Shellder shel!" it cried, ready to fight now.
"Great! Let's use your Icicle Spear!" Sam yelled. Shellder turned forward and shot a row of icicles at Tentacruel. Despite all the attacks it had taken from all the other pokemon and not felt a thing, this seemed to do real damage to it.
"Tenta...CRUEL!" Tentacruel cried, shooting a stream of bubbles at Shellder. The sailors quickly realized that Sam considered this his fight and no one else's. They backed off, returning their pokemon. All but the Captain, who seemed eager to help Sam.
"You'll never beat it alone! Let me help you out!" the Captain said. Sam nodded and the two prepared for an attack.
"Let's go with Withdraw to protect yourself!" Sam yelled. Shellder pulled back into its shell quickly.
"Now use Thundershock to hit it from the bubbles!" the Captain yelled, properly planning a good attack. Jolteon let loose a powerful move which traveled from bubble to bubble, eventually hitting Tentacruel. The sailors clapped as they dealt major damage to the powerful pokemon. The Tentacruel quickly shook this off, however, as it fired another round of bubblebeam.
"Dang it! How is it so strong?" Sam asked.
"Its a lot bigger than anything we've got. Wait. You're using a Shellder, right?" the captain asked, eying Sam's pokemon.
"Yeah...why?" Sam asked, confused by this question.
"Well...you could evolve your Shellder with that Water Stone. I think its the only way we could win..." the man said.
Sam nervously eyed Shellder and the crew. He had just caught Shellder and he wasn't sure now was the time to evolve it. He hadn't gotten used to it. Nervously, he walked forward.
"Shellder. We have only one chance to do this, but it involves you evolving. Are you ready for this?" Sam asked. Shellder nodded and nudged Sam's hand, where the stone was held.
"Okay...well, ha!" Sam yelled, touching Shellder with the stone. Shellder started to glow and its body expanded slowly. After about 5 seconds, it stopped glowing. In its place stood a grey shelled pokemon. It looked much stronger than the Shellder that was there a second ago.
"A...Cloyster?" Sam asked himself.
"Yes. Now! Have it use Aurora Beam!" the captain said, watching Sam's new pokemon.
"Oo...kay...use Aurora Beam!" Sam yelled, unsure of what this was going to do. Cloyster, on the other hand, seemed to understand perfectly. A rainbow colored beam fired forward at the Tentacruel, hitting it in the face. It fell backwards in pain. Sam was ready to take full advantage.
"What else can Cloyster use?" Sam yelled.
"Try Toxic Spikes! Its the move Tentacruel used on your Gyarados earlier. It'll stop it from getting any closer. Go!" he yelled.
Sam was nervous now. He'd seen this attack used, but it was on his Gyarados. He really didn't want to. He hated that move at this point.
"Wh...what else does it know?" Sam yelled.
"Um...how about Protect for when Tentacruel attacks? Other than that, use what it knew before this!" the captain yelled.
"Right! Icicle Spear!" Sam yelled. Cloyster shot several spears of ice forward, all of which hit Tentacruel straight in the head. It fell back a bit more, but then shot a beam of bubbles back.
"Okay! Use Protect to stop it from hitting you!" Sam yelled. Cloyster seemed to focus for a second but then a green barrier appeared around it. The bubbles hit it, but nothing got through. The barrier had stopped the damage!
"Awesome job! Ready to finish it off?" Sam asked.
"CLOY!" Cloyster cried, obviously prepared.
"Okay! Use Tackle to launch yourslef at full power, then use Withdraw to crash into it hard!" Sam yelled.
Cloyster stood still a second. Sam got worried. He wasn't sure his Cloyster could do this yet, but then it happened. Cloyster closed its shell and flew forward. It hit Tentacruel squarely in the face, causing it to sink back into the water. It looked angry, but it quickly swam away, fearing another attack. Sam smiled. Cloyster had won!
"You did it!" Sam cheered. Cloyster flew out of the water and back on deck. It took a second, but all the sailors realized what Sam had done. They started cheering.
"You did good, kid. Real good. Well, we'll be in Pallet tomorrow. We'd be honored if you'd join us for the night," the captain said, patting Sam on the back.
"That'd be great! Well, we're tired. Headin' off to bed. Night!" Sam yelled. A loud roar followed, which Sam translated as, "Good night!"
Sam fell into the bed, quickly falling asleep. That night, another vision came to him.
"Not bad...not bad at all. Too bad I was the one putting all that in your head. Still, not bad. You should have finished it, though. Make sure it never bothers anyone ever again," the black clad man said, appearing.
"You...why? Why are you so violent? Why are you doing this to me?!" Sam yelled, angry that the man was back.
"I told you before. That is for you to find out. Just remember, I am you. No one else. Remember that. Any other questions?" he asked, chuckling.
"Grr...I hate you. I WILL KILL YOU!" Sam yelled, lunging forward. The man quickly grabbed his now tight fist.
"Now now. That's quite the temper you have there. Looks like part of me has gotten to you. Well, I'm out. While you're in Pallet, though, why not visit that family of yours? Teach them that they were wrong. Show them your strength. Go on, you KNOW you want to!" the man said, dissapearing. Horrible laughter echoed behind him.
"Why? WHY ME?!" Sam yelled. This was getting annoying. This dark side of his...why? Why did it appear to him now? Why was it trying to tempt him? He knew these answers were probably obvious, but he couldn't think straight now. Slowly, this dream faded and Sam fell into a deep sleep.

Oh! You're the Typhlosion Fan, right? Yeah! Typhlosion rulz!
