    Alright, Chris, Megan, and Twi, let's get down and dirty with this Skype stuff.

    I think what should happen first is all of us post times that we'd be available most often. By doing so, hopefully we'll be able to make it so that at least one of us is on at all times, or almost all times.

    We need two main things other than that:

    • emblems: I have absolutely not talent with creating emblems, do any of you? If so, feel free to create something and we'll approve, etc.
    • thread layout: I'm fairly average with CSS, but I know people that are completely nuts when it comes to creating something awesome via CSS. Like with the emblems, if you think you can create something amazing, let us know here!

    Lastly, what are your Skype usernames? I thinkg it'd be a good idea to know that. lol


    Personally, I'm usually available from 9AM to 2PM for almost certain. My schedule looks clear, so I should be on everyday during the week at those times (unless I wake up late, oops). It's also very possible I'll be on after 2PM, but that's when my parents come back from work, so they might kick me off. My username is bloodex.rahman, by the way!
     
    maleficent. is my skype but depending on whether i get mic by the time the get together rolls around i might create another skype account in order for me to speak, but i'll probably take care of that issue myself

    as for emblems, i really don't want a emblem featuring the skype logo this year. really don't. feature the word skype in the emblem name, but i want to be different this year and not have the hideous skype logo in the emblem at all. i'm working rn so i can't find anything at the moment but i'll search for something when i get home
    i can't do any magic with photoshop but it's easy to crop and resize and whatever so i'll have little look around

    as for times, i'll post later as i'll need to work out timezones etc but i could realistically host for quite a few hours
     
    Oh, damn, mics. Forgot about that.

    Are you guys going to be using mics? It isn't needed, obviously. But it'd be cool, considering I'm sure a few members would want to voice chat, at the very least. Myself, I dunno yet. D;

    As for timings of when I'll be able to be online, I can't exactly give out at the moment, I still need to see if I'm completely available (free and that hopefully parents don't plan stuff). So when I can, I'll post later on about my timings. But as likewise with Chris, I could also host for a couple of hours or so, but still TBD!


    Emblems,,, I'm totally a noob when it comes down to graphics and such but I'll try to see if I can come up with something. If not then we'll leave it to Megan to do. :P

    Voice chatting,,, I may be able to do one day of it, and when I mean one day of it I mean like for 1-2 hours going on and off with the talking. But alas that's where Chris is going to be gracing us. ;>

    Now, we need Megan to get in here, she should have already been granted access to this forum 2 days ago, so yeah. =\
     
    I'll work on CSS for now, might as well. Any particular ideas as to how to organize the layout?

    As you can see, I'm going to recycle last year's CSS. Thanks Megan. <3 Gonna edit it so that it has a hint of new flavor and is updated, of course. Any personal preferences you guys might want, feel free to bring up!

    Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Pokecommunity Get-Together 2013's very own Skype Central! Make sure to put some time during the four days of the GT to log onto Skype and chat it up with your fellow PC members! You can type, you can talk, or you can simply watch, but whatever you decide to do, make sure you do something! Cause everyone here wants you to be a part of what will (hopefully) be the best Skype chat ever in PC history. You'll get a pretty snazzy emblem (made by [supporter]Meganium90[/supporter]) if you do! You don't need to have a microphone to take part in this event, but it'd be awesome if you did!

    If you don't have a microphone, that's just fine. You can always respond to voice chats via IM, so you have no reason to miss out!

    How does this work, guys?

    Easy peasy. If you have Skype already downloaded, you're all but set to go. Simply log in and add one or (preferably) all the hosts mentioned above. One of us will add you to the Skype group momentarily. If you aren't for some reason, IM an online host and he/she will add you in immediately. For extra verification, please post your screen name in this thread so that we can ensure you are a PC member

    Don't have Skype? Don't fear! Skype is a relatively easy program to access and download. It's literally a click away, found right here! On the chance you encounter and issues while downloading, feel free to post the problem here and we'll do our best to help out.

    Rules

    We indeedy do have a few rules you all need to follow. Any member who defies these rules will have their permission revoked for joining the event and/or reported to the higher staff.

    1. All Global PokeCommunity rules apply – self-explanatory, man.
    2. When adding us, state that you are from PC. – We cannot allow anyone who are not PC members, you must be a registered member. This is for security measures.
    3. In addition to the above rule, do not bring external members to the Skype group – This includes friends from other communities, as we are not responsible for their behavior.
    4. Respect everyone! – You will be booted out if you are caught trolling, flaming, or baiting.
    5. Please, no spam. – Also self-explanatory.
    6. Regarding cussing & offensive behavior – Keep it PG-13. We'll tolerate a it as a joke or two, but we don't want to go green hearing you potty. This is also situational (ie roleplay cussing is fair game)
    7. Have fun! – That's the most important part!

    Hey y'all! I'm back from San Diego! My apologies if I made you all wait.

    skype name is iheartstephanieabrams. I was thinking of making a separate account solely for PC purposes and stuff, but I'm all like nah. I work best in mornings, since I'm mostly busy in the afternoons...depending on plans and stuff. I'm pretty sure I have the whole weekend off, but if you need someone to cover mornings (probably from 7 am to 1 pm eastern, I can do earlier) I'm pretty much there.

    I volunteer to make the emblem. Sure, I was also thinking of not including the logo this year, so perfect timing. xD You leave that up to me, guys!

    OH BY THE WAY (yay for too much sugar), if y'all need any help with the thread format and the content, you can get ideas from last year's skype event, since I was in charge of the thread myself. I'd be more than happy to help out with that as well. :) But also, I think since this is a core event we're probably going to be using a CSS layout provided by the staff organizing this year's GT. Not sure if that's going to be the case this year, soooo. xD

    I hadn't worked on the rules yet, but I'm planning to me fairly lax on the rules. As long as it's not excessive or malicious, it's fair game. Sound good?
     
    well obviously i'm going to step in if it gets malicious but since i plan to be reading fanfiction with syd/andy/whoever else is in the call i'll just decide whether the content is excessive or not
    but really
    most of the people there will be 20 something so unless it gets to bullying i don't think i'll have to do that much

    when the call happened last year i think the worst that went down was when we read some of justinrpg's works of art (bless him) and naturally some of his language was vulgar and we all made sure everyone was okay with the content before we proceeded
     
    Yeah, feel free to amend the rules. :D Those were last year's anyways xD If all of y'all are okay with the cuss rule to be more lenient then I'm also in agreement. :)

    The rule was just there because my main concern was the young ones. xD
     
    I think we need to add in a "6.5".

    6.5) Aside from the above cussing/offensive behaviour, there shan't be any any redundant or excessive talk/chat about anything too sexual, this includes posting or linking anything pornographic (images, sounds, videos and etc.). Failure to abide to this rule will result in a discussion of the hosts about disciplinary actions.

    6 already covers that point well enough, offensive behavior can be anything that someone takes objection to, and if someone does take offense to something then the host can make a point about it and urge the chatters to not do anything like that again

    it's the young ones you are worrying about, right? well, it's common sense that people aren't going to talk about sexual/offensive stuff when there are 14 year olds in the call, and if it isn't common sense, the host can make that clear
    i think the rules are just fine as they are

    imo it's better to look at things on a CASE BY CASE basis rather than outright declaring restrictive rules
    you can have warnings about sex all you want but in my skype call i know there is going to be sexual discussion provided everyone is on board
    though i'll make a point to not link anything pornographic yeah
     
    I had a feeling you'd object Chris and I'm alright with it.

    You were correct about myself worrying about the younger audience, I just do hope that the older audience will keep common sense in mind whilst chatting away--chats can get somewhat overly carried away.

    I'm on board with your Skype call about sexual discussion though that's for sure, since it will be intriguing, without a doubt.


    Now I'm completely fine after reading your post thrice, I have confidence and faith that things will go smoothly with you around, Chris. :)
     
    Running through, but like Chris said, case by case basis, there's no need to go so specific.
