Haha.. I've never tried this way to get a Shiny.. I might try it one day lolz. But, I wish you luck getting a Shiny Charmander! Tell us when you get one. XD

Wouldn't breeding take even longer tho? I think soft resetting would be slightly faster and more effective in my honest opinion

Breeding is slightly longer as you have to hatch all the eggs to see if it is shiny or not.
Soft-resetting is always the first option, but it could wear out your buttons if it's done too much.
