So Define Ubers....

    Now... I ain't no noob, I've played the game since Red/Blue.

    But eveyone has different ideas about Ubers.

    People say no mew, no celebi, no Jirachi, but they will still use a Dragonite, Tyrannitar, and a Garchomp, which all have the same base stats. As a veteran at the game I knew this for a long time, and dont understand why people will use them if they don't want to fight a mew or a manaphy. I think those above (the dragons) should be banned as well, because their base is really high.

    In my category, they are also ubers.

    Ty,Drag and Garchomp don't have max base stats, do they?
     
    Just for the note, Jirachi and Celebi are not Ubers.

    I think of ubers as any pokemon that is extremely hard to kill. With tons of base stats, an awesome movepool and only two weakness which it can counter easily, Mewtwo is definately an uber. I don't think of Jirachi as one, though.
     
    Well, Jirachi and Celebi are not Uber for a reason: They only have 100 in all their Stats. OU Pokemon such as Garchomp and DDnite can clearly destroy them. Fire Blast is an automatic win over Jirachi. Celebi, however, is Special, so Fire Fang equals win.
     
    Garchomp. Salamence and Tyranitar aren't ubers due to having 4x weaknesses that are easily to exploit

    Celebi isn't uber because it has a huge number of weaknesses (something in the double digits I believe)

    Manaphy is an uber because Rest + Hydration = free heal, coupled with Tail Glow and backed by rain, only water absorbers can really stop it from Surfing everything to death

    I didn't know uber-ism was based off of types, just stats. Well I know now...

    Also by ability (Manaphy for example), & movepool, as well as stats.

    Wobbuffet is an uber. With Focus Band & Max HP, plus Shadow Tag & Retalitory movepool + Destiny Bond, when it goes out, its taking two of YOUR pokes with it.

    Fire blast > Jirachi? lol calm mind and wish lol

    Celebi has lots of Def pumped into it. Sorry, but those two, with suicune, are hands-down the best special tanks in the game. Saying Chomp and Dragonite destroy them is rubbish.

    Sorry, but a pokemon with 100 in every stat (base stats wise), access to heal bell, leech seed, SD and CM passing, not to mention natural cure as an ability...gets creamed by an obverrrated dragon and a fat dragon? I don't think so...
     
    Jirachi has a common weakness which is Earthquake, and any hard hitting E-qer will kill it, unless it goes for an extremely bulky Def EV set. Same goes for fire moves, but they are less common.

    Celebi has a x4 weakness to Bug moves, which makes him not hard to kill with all them U-turners wondering around. However I won't argue that he can be quite annoying to deal with.

    An inteligent post for once! OMG OMG

    Any hera pwns the crap out of celebi, and yeah, EQers kill jirachi with ease. *sigh* which is why they aren't uber. Both are beasts :)
     
    my opinion of an uber is a pokemon with drastically higher base stats than the normal pokemon and an exceptional move-pool.

    so a pokemon with very high base stats and that can learn very good moves = uber.

    As for Entala, we've discussed, by fact, what ubers are.
     
    Alright, I'll cut it out ;)

    Thing with ubers is, people run around with different definitions, which causes a lot of confusion among people. that's why I hate this topic, it can get painfully confusing for some.

    Also, the whole legendary/uber confusion causes even more...well...confusion. lol
     
    People NEED to realize is that ubers isn't a matter of opinion. It doesn't matter what you (not particularly YOU, Anti, but YOU as a whole) "think" an uber is. By fact that I'm to lazy to repeat,it has been said what an uber is.
     
    Yeah. But meh, I'm too tired and stressed out to even remember the exact definition. I bleive it's a dominating movepool, statsm typing, ability, and usually 9though not always) a base stat total of 600 or over, though there are obviously many exceptions: Jirachi, celebi, wobby, slaking...

    though I don't think wynaut should be uber. It isn't as defensively dominating as Wobby and is actually pretty easy to deal with.
     
    Tyranitar can be killed with any common fighting move.
    Garchomp/Dragonite/Salamence with ice.

    Manaphy is Uber because of Rest + Hydration + Rain Dance

    Darkrai is Uber because its Sp. Atk and Spd are design to kill quick and painlessly.

    Deoxys is Uber because its Stats are shaped in a way that it is really high in somethng, but terrible in the other. Defense Deoxys is hard to kill, and the other Deoxys's are fast and powerful enough to kill extremely fast and hard. REALLY hard.
